  1. It's a WA GBB....yeah...a gbb, I swear, lol....

That said I figured it was too pretty NOT to post...

I'm really not buying that. Where's the solid rail in their range? Too much detail on the PEQ's. I'm not convinced this is airsoft at all. more like a promo shot for a real steel or Pelican.

  2. Another Nova kit.

Springfield markings aren't as crisp as on the ProWin. the font they've used isn't quite right and it's missing the FIBRAZIL (frames are made in Brazil) on the front of the frame. The Springfield logo could be a little clearer. Could just be the silver one though. It's not polished, it's coated (maybe nickel). Review early next week on the black one will confirm this.

Nice to build though and not as much stuffing around to get the slide action right as there is on a ProWin or certainly a Guarder.

Nice to have a kit with the correct forward cocking grips on the slide and Novak style sights though (front sight and slide lock not fitted properly yet).

Chamber has SA.45 ACP markings on it.

  3. They polish up fine. 180 grit to break the surface and then 400 wet and dry to clean it up before some Brasso or Silver Polish.

Beaver tail was a drop in part. The frame on the Nova kit is as close to the TM frame as I've seen. Even the trigger sear stays full width.

  4. BoomArms. Also got the grip safety from them. No idea on the grip safety make. It's a new crowd and it's specifically for the TM.

I was a bit late to get on the WA metal kit boat hkssr20det. Glad I didn't now though as I've 7 1911 style guns that all take the same mags.

  5. The Nova Kimber SWAT kit arrived.

It comes in a plastic bag as you can see in the picture below. The beaver tail is an extra and doesn't come with the kit.

Markings on the frame, slide and chamber are of good depth and clarity. Chamber and barrel are one piece.

Other bits included are a spacer, sights, locking pins and threaded oters for the grips. It even comes with some handy hints in English.

The sights have little dimples for aiming. these are all in black. I intend to kiss these with a drill bit to make them silver as on the ProWin kits.

Fitting the main chamber to the slide is easy (put the rear sight on first). You don't need to fit the small rail inside. There is a spacer to use instead. It is similar to the Tanio Koba one you'd fit when sticking on a 5.1 slide. This suggests this slide will fit one of them fine.

I have to sand the paint off the rails slightly to allow it to move freely (frame isn't rubbed it's just finger rubs). This is no where near as bad to fit as a ProWin though. The trigger sear needs no adjustment so there's slightly less material in the grip section than there is on the ProWin.

The grip threaded outers have threads to screw in from the front. No more pushing from the rear and fiddling around and still having slightly loose grips.

In summary a lot of thought has gone into this kit and the finish is very good. I am extremely pleased with it and already a convert. I've two more kits arriving this week that I took a chance on (silver and black Springfields). I must say it's a gamble that's paid off big time.

I've now got a Kimber SWAT that didn't break the bank and takes all my TM mags.

I do want to change the trigger for one that is coming and I've got an extended safety on order.

I'm after some SWAT grips if anyone has any. Even the grips off the WE Tactical would be close enough. Although the Meusocs are growing on me I may stick them on a Kimber Warrior.

    BUY ONE!!!!!!

I also started fitting some real steel grips to my ProWin Delta. Just need to change the trigger in that and adjust the grip fittings.

  6. Just got back from the platers. Needed silver bits for the Springfield and looking at Guns N Guys it was going to cost a small fortune (not to mention the hassle of wiring money instead of Paypal). Decided to sand the black off and get them nickel plated. Only added microns in thickness which is what I would of sanded off anyway. All the bits still fit and function fine.

  7. Got a couple of things done today. I've a confirmed delivery date of the 20th for the Nova Kimber SWAT kit. WIll post picture of it later in the day.

Also been to the platers today and dropped off all the little bits and bobs for nickel plating ready for my Nova Springfield kit in silver. This should be here this week also.

Then after trawling the net I found a full auto 1911 on you tube that some old boy had modified.

    You can see the link

    .

I decided I wanted one too so I got tinkering. So far I've got full auto working fine and know how I'm going to switch to semi. Just need to do some fiddling this week. It's pretty cold here and I only had a near empty can of poo gas to hand so it runs out a little. If I stick a mag on the radiator it's a lot better.

I've uploaded a quick taster here.

    SR25 CQB

    SR25

Somewhere I've got an SPR, M733, M4A1's and an HK416. All running Systema internals.

  9. Well finally got my TM1911 with Delta frame to a stage where Im currently ok with it. I may be getting a nine ball barrel soon, as my SD one seems to lock the slide. But this is it...and I know I need a decent camera hehe

Did the kit not come with the Prowin outer barrel? I've found all of them so far tend to burr after a couple cycles on the end. Quick rub with 400 grit and some Brasso sorts it.

I've a spare NineBall outer in silver if it suits for £20. New but out of packet.

  10. I've just checked against two more sets of Shooters Design Springfield grips and found what you see in the picture. The other two sets are the same as the one on the right. The set I'd open is shown on the left. i'll be sending it back. I guess their batch control isn't all that. Some might say 2 out of 3 ain't bad or was that just Meatloaf?
