  1. you're moaning about a free service

other people have donated because they genuinely feel it's a nice site to donate to help arn in some ways. big amounts go to server, small amounts probably to his coffee funds to keep him up 3nights in a row doing this.

but please dont moan about a free service. remember arnie doesnt HAVE to give you an account at all let alone have such a nice site up.

edit: i quote the guys from before to emphasise my point. true it does go slow and this issue has been raised with the mods and arn.

It's a free site it's here because it is wanted and any possible negative comments tend to just get ignored by me anyway, I learnt a long time ago to ignore things and not take stuff to heart. :)

Just wanted to point out that, although a lot of people don't make financial contributions to the site, surely taking the time and effort to post useful, constructive advice counts as a "contribution"?

Surely it's fair to acknowledge the frustration of somebody who, maybe, spends half an hour typing out a post, adding links, taking pictures, hosting them and inserting them in a post so they can help somebody only to have that post lost because of a server error?

  2. donate a decent amount (not like 80p or a dollar) to arnie (the news page, on the left, there's a paypal bar)

the people that have donated have 'arnaholic' title and have slightly more privilages... like 300 inbox limit... i never went over 80 in my experience but i always delete messages... apart from my darling arnie and my ex R22 lol

and you get to access reg's forms which you usually need i think 1000 post count or whatever to access it.

and on the members map... you have a different coloured pin (yeay) :P

and you can search the members to see if they are an arnaholic or not by its group....

  3. i couldnt justify the price of the KA one, so I searched ebay 'neoprene face mask' and found a really nice camo one.

It works just as well, Ive taken hits to the face and not felt it.

    exactly my point ;)

    ebay ftw!

the ebay ones usually tend to sell around £10. if you're lucky you might find one without a buy it now option and you COULD get it pretty cheap... (not many people know about a neoprene face mask let alone having a need to buy one)

  4. i bought mine off ebay. it's a neoprene half face mask with neck bit that you tuck in under the collar of your shirt. that bit is so wide it covers my collarbones too. it's designed for motor cyclists and it's much cheaper than the ones i've seen for sale (KA and other neoprene face masks)

that definately gets very hot if i was to use it anything warmer than 15*c

but then again if i need to use that, i wont complain about how hot it gets.

    as for fogging up.

a drop or two of washing up liquid on a piece of tissue and rub the hell outta the inside of your lens, you're all good to go.

you think im crazy right? there're more people that does this than you'd think...

just keep rubbing the washing up liquid until it doesnt smear anymore... (so there is such a thin film of that soap you wont notice it and stops fogging up)

if you dont believe me, try it out on a cheap crappy pair of glasses, any glasses... takes 2-3 mins to do my bolle x800s and even less time for my guarder glasses

    edit:

jeza, they'll do just fine seeing as it's designed for low temp. it should be fairly thick.

what you might wanna do is get a knife (not joking) cut very small slits (just under a cm at a time) around the face to give ventilation but not too much so that a high velocity surface to air BB manages to squeeze in the gaps you've made. but it's a very low chance for that to happen but yeh i've done that to my one around the mouth and upper lip area. much better ventilation...

as long as it's a bit of neoprene, it's a bit of armour that can take the majority of the impact away from incoming BBs. like i've said mine's designed for motorcyclists...

and what's gonna stop you from making one for yourself from an old wet suit? you can even make one so that you can put the breathing holes EXACTLY where you want it.

  5. i like the sound of 'buy it now' with paypal etc.

no messing around if you do that.

and it's alot tidier so if you were after something semi specific (like someone wanting a GBB instead of an AEG) they could go to that category...

or even random bits of kit that goes in etc...

    i kinda like it :)

sure it'll be strange and whatever... but it's a new system... i'd reckon most of us that first went on ebay were all like wtf? lol kthx what the ###### do i do now?

i mean im sure we'll get used to it :P

  6. just wanna tell you that you can always back up stuff (even threads) by downloading the stuff onto your computer. arnies is so good you can even save it in different formats :D )

edit: it's archive messages on the left when you're in the PM screen.

and on the threads, it's options button you click to download it :P

  7. Yeah, that's why coming up with a solution for that is on my agenda. Still, it'd have to be one hell of a shot to hit this tiny thing, that's for sure.

had a holosight on my 18c at arm's length. badasstranaut returned fire at me through a hole in the wall at the test games before AG05 and managed to hit through my holosight, and shatter the glass and then onto my face... some blood but it was ok... the £6 shooting glasses from AS works good if you ask me :P

  8. there're a few versions of DE. 2 by TM from what i can think of on the top of my head...

the DE HK definately has its name as 'hard kick' for a reason. it definately does give out the kick on a pistol.

even a normal TM DE can kick out 300ish on green i believe. not sure as this was a while ago when i chrono'd my friend's DE. but i may be completely wrong...

and yes KWC makes FULL METAL , FULL AUTO desert eagles. that run on C02 capsules. they are very very fun... the kick shakes your whole arm but not as snappy as the normal airsoft ones but i loved the full auto goodness... no mods needed out of the box and can take Co2. pwnage! but the thing is... if you have to use it in a skirmish... ahem... err... might wanna see if it's snowing first and see if it's at the site's limit :P it clocks at 450+ on an average day

  9. agreed darklite...

i'm going to wait till i've paid my overdraft off a lil bit first and when it's cheap enough for me... i'll get one :)

it looks damn nice! and pretty well made from what i can see from fareast's review. ALOT better FPS than teh other AEPs and actually looks better and a pretty decent mags as well.
