  1. Nice grips, meant for real steel i assume?

If you mean for the Raging Bull, then yes, those grips are meant to replicate the real steel Taurus Raging Bull's grips, right down to the signature red stripe. On the airsoft version, they can be a bit squeaky and hollow feeling. A quick fix, though.

  2. Titleist: Thank you, that really helps us. What's your average city MPG?

Xufima: I love that Mustang! Good memories of my '94.

Vicks: Don't worry bro, to me, anything that can roll uphill is good enough. My first car was an early 80s model Datsun. It got me from point A to point B, and for that I loved it. I remember losing rusted out parts from the undercarriage on the freeway that apparently weren't that vital, considering it always kept working. Until that beach fiasco...

May I ask how much money your family have on their bank account?

Moriquende: Sorry, I don't think it would be wise for me to divulge that kind of information, but I will say this: we both work very, very, very hard to earn what we have. Believe it or not, the GT was actually a gift by someone who saw those efforts.

Hard work is never obsolete, and is always far more worth its weight in gold or any toy.

  3. How are those Volvos, Titleist? We have been thinking about getting one to replace our Element as an everday car, but it's hard to find someone around here who actually has one who can give us a solid review.

Here's another pic of the GT for those who've PMed me. For the astute ones, those who know me jokingly call it a GT500 because of my affinity for M500s (the revolvers, naturally). Of course, I'd still trade one of mine for that Midnight SAA of yours, Titleist... ;)

And an upper shot showing both the GT and our Element (great car for heavy mile days). Excuse the home renovation bits..

  4. Hey SmashJoehanson, great weapons you have there. Good luck with making your own logos if you decide to.

One question: Could you possibly get a closer [macro] shot of the slide engravings?

I'm currenty hand engraving a couple slides of mine, primarily because I fingdidn't think machine gravers (I'm assuming that's what was used considering it was only 15 quid) could cut so smoothly and sharply for such low cost. If yours look as good up close as they look at a distance, maybe I'll drop my tools and try harder to find a local engraving shop. My hands hurt..

  5. Sweet, donnie. I seem to remember someone on Dewback or RPF say that there was an airsoft conversion kit for this piece? Or I may be confused with the Battlestar Galactica (New Ver) conversion. I can't remember... In any case, that's a great piece you have there.

  6. I know a guy who is based out of France, who bases a lot of his stuff off of the work of Alex and a few of the rest of us. If you wanted to order from him because it's closer, I can refer you. But, I really would recommend buying from Alex. He's the only one with the new K2 luxeons (which have three times the lumens as the Luxeon Star IIIs). The K2 aren't even on the market yet until this summer, but the guys at lumileds game him several pre-runs to test.

Let me know if you need anything else. They shouldn't cost you too many quid if you source it right.

  7. From my experience with my kids, the Hasbro Dooku IS one of the better buys, if anyone else wanted someone to corroberate what Desolation MkII said in his thorough and always indepth reviews (very nice, mate --+1).

Oh and Vektor, tell Alex (the head of Ultrasabers) that Zion sent you. He may give you a price break if his kids have him in a good mood that day ;). May I recommend his Luxeon green K2 setup for your saber. Ridiculous brightness, and just about unbreakable. You should see the video of some of us whaking the corner of a brick wall just to prove that these blades do not break (don't worry kids, it was just for a safety video currently in the works to demonstrate the need for safety when using these new sabres).

Now, for the even more ridiculous upper extreme of lightsabers, check out our latest sabersmith feat: Wireless Bluetooth on board sound sensors and digital relays, clashing effects (light surges) and nearing even greater brightness than the latest K2 luxeons, all the while still keeping the nigh-unbreakable blade factor. Unlike the MRs, remember, these are hollow polycarbonate blades, so no dark spots, and no breakable components in the emitter.

  8. If I was buying a 500 now, I'd get a silver 3+1" model, I think, although I was amazed how realistic the 8.375" model is when I saw a real one - You could've slipped the Tanaka into the cabinet and only the trademarks would have given it away - Still the 3+1" was the same :)

    Cheers.

Copy that. I just put in my order for a second 3+1 500. Too bad I can't find a silver one. :(

I'm getting custom cut Ti tightbores for these two from a machinist friend. If anyone wants me one for their 3+1, let me know.

And Cplhicks, what's the part number on your broken Biohazard? I have some bits left over from one I bastardized a while ago. If I've got the part you need to get her back to life, I'd be glad to send it over free of charge. We wheelgunners have to stick together ;)

  9. Yeah, Titleist, you must have beat him up good to get that piece from him!

We were talking about that Twilight finish last week and he seems to think that Tanaka stopped production because it was actual chrome, not paint. As such, it looks very, very real and even, but obvioiusly the cost goes up. On top of that, they aren't as durable as the current finishes, he said, but again I haven't been able to handle on for myself to judge.

But really, I could care less. I still want it. Bad.

....how much you want for it? ;)

  10. Judas Priest Titleist! Where can I get ten of those?!? I've been trying to track down that gun with that rare finish for quite some time. 888 didn't even tell me he had a Twilight finish when we were chatting it up last week... I wonder why not...

    Beautiful!

  11. You're right, Big Al, the 500 is an X frame. What I forgot to clarify was that I meant it has K size *grips*.

And I'm glad you like it, Snowman. Your reviews were actually the catalyst for my revolver binge. That 10.5" of yours.....that's compensating for a LOT, isn't it? Surely... :nosleep:

  12. Yeah, that's what I thought at first, having held the full sized 8.5" M500. For this one, they just chopped 5" off the end, which does affect the proportion. TThey kept the whole thing on a K frame, but in hand it actually handles very well. The gun is heavy but very well balanced. It's heavier than my Tanaka Super Redhawk 9.5" HW, but balances as evenly on my hand as my Glocks. I must admit it has really grown on me. If the frame was any larger, the grips would be too hard to handle. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the revolver comes originally with trademarked Hogue grips, which feel awesome.

For some reason, I can't post anymore pictures without removing the others....what gives?

  13. More pics... One to show the cylinder and another to show groupings I shot this morning on a 2" Post-it at 5m. I can't figure out how to load the video here. I shot 11 rounds, with the post it on an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper. 10 of the shots hit the post-it, while one hit just off to the middle left.

  14. My pleasure to help, Sledge.

And to answer your question, I can help you with EL or LED saber stuff --I know the top makers of both B)

I would go the LED, though. The discs can be drilled in the center to add more light through, giving more of a "white core with colored aura" effect. If you promise to keep it a secret, if you order a white saber from Alex (Ultrasabers.com) he'll include the discs for free ;)
