New retailer reviews: [ORCA]442 (ottermusashi@hotmail.com) has been kind enough to write a bunch of retailer reviews from his own experiances. Please note these reviews are the author's personal opinion (it's obvious I know, but it needs stating again). If you have a differing opinion, please write up your comments and send them in. Here's the new reviews folks, I'll add them to the reviews section in the next update:

WarGameClub (aka WGC)
TokyoHobby
RedWolf
AirsoftExtreme
DenTrinity

Marushin 8mm product pictures: Gunshop Watanabe has some images up in a larger article covering the coming Marushin releases, including their somewhat famed 8mm pieces (click the link under their webpage banner/logo image).

Included in the photos are pictures of the 44 Automag, Derringer, Detonics 45 (previously unseen), Bre Ten ( as used by Detective James "Sonny" Crockett's, aka Don Johnson, sidearm in the hit TV show "Miami Vice" in the first two seasons) Winchester 1892, M1 Carbine, Kar98k and Competition Rifle.

Of note here (to me at least) is the Bren Ten. The pistol never really made it in real life, with only around 1500 ever making it out into the world. The pistol features a blue'd slide with a stainless steel frame and is very similar to the CZ75, and features a safety catch on the side.
New model KSC M93r update: KSC have finally released some news about their new M93r varient. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but is likely to be similar to present M93r prices.

So what's new? Well KSC call it a "complete redesign". The new model is based on the 93r '1st Version', and lacks the triple shot ability.

From what I can tell the new version's main feature is a redesigned full-auto trigger sheer, that "...does not obstruct the movement of sliding"

The design (apart from the above changes) seems to be identical in both form and functionality. The M93r still features adjustable hopup, and can take the present M93r mags, and the shorter M9 mags. For further info please check KSC's new M93r product page.

Yup I'll be getting one of these the second they come out ^_^ - honest I really do need a third M93r!

Click here to visit GuayGuayGuay Guay updates: Norman Hsu of GuayGuay have sent in news of their new M5 Rifle RAS kit. The new kit comprises of the following parts: one piece outer barrel, M5 rail adapter system, gas pipe, handguard cap, handguard retainer ring, handguard slip ring, slip ring spring, barrel nut.

The M5 set is built from 6061 Al-Mg-Si alloy, and is anodised flat black (these photos below are of the prototype). Total weight is a hefty 1180g, and we can expect to see it out at the end of October. Sadly GuayGuay won't let on about the RRP yet. While you are at their website, do be sure to check out the other new products they have listed. These new products include, the versa-pod (M4/16 bipod), and a rather dinky little safety endcap for your AEG. Click on any of the images below for a larger version.

BLOK Helmet now available: I thought it was worth a mention as a few people didn't realise, but the BLOK helmet has been officially launched and is now on sale (you can see my review of the prototype here). I did have a whole load of new photos of the production version, and a comparision between the prototype and the current model, but I seem to have mislaid them - to coin a phraze from Father Ted, "arse!". I'll get replacement shots online as quick as I can.

On the subject ExtremeProcurement, have mentioned that they have several of the BLOK helmets in stock in Black, Olive and Camo. They also have a bunch of BlackHawk dropleg holsters in.

Website downtime: Sorry for the downtime today folks. Some of you may have noticed that the server was inaccessable today until around 3PM GMT. This was a minor network glitch, and the wonderful 'n loveable IT bod CJ had it fixed promptly this afternoon. Fingers crossed, touching wood and all that, you can now rely on us (and me) to provide you with Airsoft news and info of the quality that you guys (and gals) deserve.

New wallpaper: I've just added a whole bunch of new wallpapers from our artistic collegue Space Cowboy .

Please note that the images are huge, but I will get around to resizing them all for you such that they should fit a standard screensize (I'll do it in the next update).

In the meantime, please do go and have a dribble over these beautiful photos. Do note that the revolvers are actually real, not strictly Airsoft, but they photos are so darn nice I thought they really should be up there.

Fireball updates: Ken from Fireball Squadran dropped in some updates to us. It seems that a few people didn't know that their urban site 'Fireball urban' near Birmingham was still running. Here's the lowdown from the guys there:

"...Fireball Urban is one of a few very popular urban sites still running, it is doing well and the best way to secure a place is to book...Fireball squadron was established in 1998 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Based in the Midlands, we continually look to improve the airsoft gaming experience by continual investment in our sites and a good mix of both traditional and new gaming experiences..."

Please do checkout their webpage for booking forms, dates and contact details. You can also find them listed on our UK Map.

ZeroOne updates: ZeroOne have some new updates which I have received via email. Basically there have been two updates, one is that they have new Guarder and Mil-Force kit in stock, and the other is a slight delay in their delivery times. Here's the full news from them:

"...We have just got in a large stock of Mil-Force and Guarder products, some not yet mentioned on the website. If you are interested in any item you can not find on the website, please let us know and we will try to include stocks of it on our next order - we're always adding new stocks

Orders/Delivery Times - Please read our FAQ section of the site if you have emailed us about a day's delay on your order. We take off all the orders late at night to be processed the next day. We try to ship all orders on the same day, but because of the vast amount we have been getting lately, there may be a days delay. FPS website updates: I just received this from Mike Pentrack (publisher FPS Magazine):

"...First, the teams section: If you want to get your team into our global database for publication in the December and future issues of FPS magazine please visit: http://www.fpszine.com/featuresTeams.asp - simply enter the information and you will be added!

You can create, add and edit your profile for publication in our "Teams Section". Participation is extremely helpful in keeping our magazine up to date on every team that wishes to be in print.

Second, I want to highlight the Super 90 Giveaway. Everyone subscribing to the magazine is automatically entered into a drawing for this fine shotgun. The drawing will be held in February and the Winner announced in the March issue.

Third, we want to allow you to communicate to the FPS staff, talk shop, gear or just connect with people. Therefore, we created this forum. We can really use input, and this is a great way for you to share your ideas, likes, dislikes or suggestions.

Finally, I want to thank all of you that have made this magazine a success. Your continued support allows us to continue bringing you the ONLY US AIRSOFT MAGAZINE in full color!..."

Fairly simple really. ^_^ I highly recommend entering your team, and subscribing to FPS, as the issues just keep getting better both in terms of design and quality of their articles.

Site upgrades : If you can read this, then you are reading Arnie's Airsoft off our new server. CJ - the wonderful guru who provides the server space and technical expertise, has kindly upgraded the server (thanks CJ!), so that we can provide a faster and more efficient service to you (plus it means I can develop new ways to write news for you lovely readers!).

A few technical issues that arose and have now been fixed again (kindly done by CJ) - I won't bore you with the technical jargon, but basically; email to anyone at ....@arniesairsoft.co.uk (including me) may well have bounced for a brief period. If you sent anything from 6pm GMT on the 22nd, through to now (9pm GMT on the 23rd) please resend it now.

While I'm on the subject of such things, CJ provides a wonderful hosting service to this website, and if you would like to please donate some funds towards the server/hosting kitty. All funds go towards the upkeep of the server and future server related upgrades/puchases. You can find the donate link bottom left of the UKAN homepage. It's a PayPal system so relatively easy to use. Please don't feel obliged to donate - but if you can, and would like, to please do.

Blackhawk SG1 sling review: BlackHawk recently released a new 'SG1-lookalikely' P90 sling. Jager of the Virginia Rangers was kind enough to write us a full review of the sling, with plenty of pictures. I've also added a lot of other P90/SG1 info to the same page, as a reference for any SG1-fan, or any p90 lover out there:

"...My first sling that I purchased for my P-90 was from FN. When I received it, I was really disappointed. Then I started to considered BlackHawk's Chalker Tac Sling ( Catalog # 70DC00 / 70DC01 ) which sells for $60USD and $80USD. After taking a close look at a Chalker sling, I determined that the Chalker sling wasn't very P-90 friendly or anything like the sling used on STARGATE SG-1, and was too expensive for my wallet. For quite sometime I thought I was going to be stuck with that shoddy FN sling. (thanks go out to StormLeader for the SG1 images)..."

News over at LAGunshop: There's been some updates over at LAGunshop, some interesting, some expected and some just downright wierd.

Just picking at random, they have news of the Marushin BlowGunRifle. Nope it's not some smutty innuendo, it's actually a BB blowpipe sniper rifle. Yes folks, for the true die hard sniper, you can use this highly robust and simple piece of kit for those true 'stealth' hits.

The BlowGun dismantles into two parts for easy carry, and has a fixed metal sight down the top-side of the barrel. Judgng by the darts shown in the picture it doesn't look like a skirmishable item (i.e. it doesn't fire BBs). Sadly there's no RIS kits available for it, but expect Marushin to release the BlowGun CQB, with 5 different RIS rails on it in the near future.. only kidding ^_^

In other bits on there, you can find a nice high res photo of the new Maruzen Vz61 Scorpion (to be released mid October).

New review online: I've just uploaded a review of the Classic Army MP5 SD4, written by Rob Andrew . The review is detailed, and even includes some nice photos of shot grouping on standard paper targets. Here's a brief snippet:

"...When I opened the Tokyo Marui (TM) catalogue for the first time after buying my Mk23 springer I instantly fell in love with the MP5SD series, I think this is mostly due to reading Tom Clancy and playing on Rainbow Six Rouge Spear too much.

After browsing the net trying to find the best deal on one of these guns, I soon stumbled across the name “Classic Army” (CA) in my searches. I read that they were all metal, upgraded to 350fps and came with a hi-capacity magazine as standard and were only marginally more expensive than the TM ones, too good to be true?"

New product from CombatClub: William at CombatClub (http://www.combatclub.net) have sent in details of a new product that they are working on. So what is it? Well they have developed a new handguard for M16/AR15 Carbine rifles. (Their new homebrand is called "COMBAT")

The new grip looks like your standard M4 handguard, but there are two hidden sliding covers on the top and bottom . If you slide off the top or bottom cover you'll discover a very cunningly hidden 20mm rail. I gather that they are also developing the same style grip for the M-16 A2. Price isn't to shoddy at 50USD per piece, the grip can take up to a 9.6v 3000mAh battery and they are taking pre-orders now for their first (and possibly only) run of 100. The first run is expected to be completed in October. Here's the latest from them:

"...Built to military specification, the C33 will fit all M-16/AR15 style carbine rifles. Produced from special high density polymers injected into ultra precision molds, with rails molded directly into the handguards top and bottom halves. The rails will accept any accessory with a Picatinny or weight added to the handguards. Lasers, lights, optics, bi-pods, and other mission specific accessories can be easily mounted on the rails. A sliding cover is provided to protect the rails when not in use and enhance the operator's grip upon the handguards..."

Click here to visit GuayGuayGuay Guay updates: Norman Hsu of GuayGuay has emailed in new of their SR15 Free Floating Version. I got the news a good few days back, but sadly missed it in the updates (sorry Norman). Anyway, here's the latest from them (click images for a larger version, read more here):

"...[this is] our brand new design of SR-15 Free Floating Version. The R.A.S. of new SR-15 F.F.V. which made with 6061 alloy, hard anodizing finish and weight only 354g. The real free floating system without any bolster between outer barrel and R.A.S. to prop up the long barrel. G&G ARMAMENT SR-15 Free Floating Version is now in stock..."

Please note GuayGuay's web address recently changed from guayguay.com to guay2.com - please don't go to the older address (linked to in some older news posts) as it links to some rather dodgy websites.

MadAboutAirsoft updates: MadAboutAirsoft have lowered their prices on their MultiCom Pro radio packs from £155.00 to £139.00 (inc. next-day delivery). Each pack contains:

"...1x MultiCom Pro radio, rechargeable battery, 12 hour charger, belt clip & wrist strap, VOX enabled throat microphone..."

We host a review of these radio packs (submitted to us from MAA), which you can find here. I've been looking into getting some radio packs myself (funnily enough for biking rather than skirmishing), and having done a lot of research, they do indeed come across as the best PMR446-spec radios you can buy. If you have a read around the net you'll find that "Its key benefit is basic inversion scrambling or voice privacy which can be set to provide the user with a level of privacy over transmissions, preventing conversations from being heard by standard PMR446 radios" although if everyone owns one this advantage does seem less useful. ^_^ The fact that it comes with rechargable batteries and a charger shouldn't be sniffed at too.

Click here to visit the WGC shopWGC Shop updates: WGC (Wargamer's Shop) now have the new KSC Elite in stock, and the spare mags for it, prices for the pistol itself are 150USD, and mags are 41USD. I've ordered one for myself to see what it's like, keep an eye out for the review shortly. ;)

Updates: In my haste to get the new updates done a few spelling errors have crept in. I've gone through most of the updates now, so they should read better. I have also corrected the images in HeadWreck's FAMAS sling article, which were originally linked incorrectly.
Wednesday, September 18, 2002 9:43 AM

Plenty of updates today (I hope): There's going to be plenty of updates today... why? Well I'm stuck ill at home with a temperature - Mrs Arnie refused to let me go to work in my condition (she's wonderful) so I'm stoking myself up with some of my beloved homemade espresso (heaps better than any commercial flu remedy), and have sat down here in the warm to type random things for you all to read. ^_^
p.s. thanks go out to the 'get well' emails that came in, they were completely unexpected and much appreciated. It's only a flu-lke bug so I'll be back on my feet tomorrow.

Project Jericho updated (again): It's amazing what you can find the time to do when you're cooped up at home. ^_^ I've just finished building and fitting the grenade sight for Jericho, and refitting the M203 to the grip (now perfectly snug).

So what have we got so far? Well the grip is built, the battery fits inside (you can see the yellow of the battery inside the grip in the inset image), the sight is built and fitted, and the trigger guard has been modified so that it doesn't flap around annoyingly.

Only got the repainting (I have scratched the paint off the M203 in a few places), rewiring (I want a battery at the front and one in the optional stock) and the new muzzle/flashhider to do now - not bad for a guy with a stonking headache, and an overbearing need for caffeine.

Anyway, the whole point of the project is to inspire others to do the same, I hope the photos provide some of you with enough inspiration to try this yourself. Please just be careful with those powertools - seriously, always wear eye protection and suitable safety gear.

Photos updated: I've added a team photo of the Southern California WolfPack to the team area of the photos section. There's more photos coming from Operation Iron Angel that they attended (including photos of the Q-Project minigun in operation. The photos were kindly left with me by Jeremy Morrison (aka Lone Wolf), who popped in to say hello for a weekend when he was over this side of the pond.

Wraith Squadron relaunch: I've just received an email from the guys at WraithSquadron regarding the relaunch of their website, under a new design. Here's the latest from them:

"We at Wraith Squadron have finally launched our new website, after more technical glitches than I care to remember. Those of you that have seen the site before will no doubt recognise much of the content, but that's because the real beauty of the new site is the database behind it. What does this mean? It means the site is now always up-to-date, so come along at any time and find out what the team's up to and when we're skirmishing next. We've also launched brand-new forums - no more EZBoard with those awful popups - so please do drop by and say hello."

Airsoft 'noisy cricket': These products has been around for a bit, but I only stumbled on a picture of them recently. It would seem that 'ickle' tiny pistols are making their way into Airsoft stores at the moment. I've so far spotted the Marushin Derringer SSB at WGC, and also the Colt 25 again at WGC (in smokey and transparent plastic version too). The "Pocket Gun" aka KHC Colt 25, pumps out a mean 0.12 Joules and features a 15 BB magazine, at 15USD it's 'cheap and fun', but to be honest the BBs would go farther if you threw the Colt25 at someone (not recommended) ^_^.
All you gas belong to us: Part five in our ever popular spam section is now online. The loonies this month want a.. well I'm not going to spoil it for you. Suffice to say if they are serious I will be taking Mrs Arnie on a very expensive holiday.

New parts from Guarder: Guarder (aka IntruderShop) are set to release two new scope rings (and a few other bits of kit). The rings are available in two formats, either the standard (left) or the cantilever (right). The scope rings here are shown fitted to the TGS Aimpoint replica.

Also listed on their "what's new" page are a suppressor locker, for the WA Championship, and a one piece barrel chamber again for the WA Championship series.

Project Jericho updated: Sorry folks I haven't had time to do a news update tonight, but I have been working hard on Jericho - you can read the latest updates here.

In essence the cutting down of the SP M203 is almost complete. I need to shave off a few more bits here and there, and sand the top down a bit more, but that's about it for the heavy work. It's all just as well really, as my dremel has had enough of cutting through die cast zinc alloy. ^_^

Left to do is the rewiring of the electronics for either the use of a mini battery hidden in the new grip, or a large battery in the (optional) full-stock. I'm currently enquiring about buying a CA or TM MP5 sliding stock. The grenade sight needs to be fitted, m203 frame polished and then sprayed matt black, and the custom flashhider/muzzle needs to be commissioned (I lack the machinery to make a good version myself).

General updates#2: As promised I've updated the 'About this website' page with some updated policies, basically explaining a few FAQs that I thought needed answering. If you can think of any more, please do drop me a line. Keep an eye here, as I am going to try to get as much done today in terms of updates as possible.

Link updates: I've been adding a few updates to the links pages for everyone:

http://www.forums-sageon.tk - Sageon's new forums page, recently started (by the looks of it), but carefully designed and tidily set out.
http://www.practicalpistoluk.com/ - Home to UK Practical Pistol scene. For further info, please visit our BBIPSC forums
http://www.airsoftauction.com
- a new Airsoft auction website, run by 'Auctions@WooCha.com'
http://www.dragonvalley.co.uk/ - The skirmish site known as DragonValley(2) is now featured in links pages
http://csteam.dk - these guys are a nice Danish Airsoft team called "csteam" (Copenhagen SWAT Team)

Two new projects: I've just added two new projects, written by HeadWreck (a regular in our forums). The articles are the first two in a series which cover "'softing on a budget". The articles are entitled: Dirty Deeds done DIRT CHEAP!

The first article is entitled: "Drop leg pouches using PLCE", and covers the construction of sturdy drog-leg pouches using nothing more than basic UK PLCE webbing.

The second article is entitled: "How to sling your FA MAS F1 with minimal fuss", again on a budget, this article covers the slinging of a TM FAMAS in a simple yet functional way.

Sadly no sticky back plastic or washing up bottles were used in either production. ^_^

New items up at Armoured Gallery: Armoured Gallery (a2g2.com) are a retailer in Japan(?), up on their website are a few new items (under their 'new items' page) of interest. First up is the 'RIS-ified' scope - what better to accompany your RIS M16/4 with RIS scope rail, than a scope with RIS rails on it? Perfect for anyone looking to mount another couple of Mini-launchers to. ^_^ Ladies and gents this is the Leupold Mark4 CQ/T 1-3×14mm scope. Price? Well it's not cheap at 198,000 Yen (ouch!).

Also of interest up at Armoured Gallery are their S.R.S. (Super Replica Series). Built from full metal kits, and featuring a plethora of parts from their real-steel counterparts these puppies surely win out on the realistic front. Pricing is 118,000Yen for the M4A1, 159,000 Yen for the SR-16 M5 and 128,000 Yen for the M16A3.

For anyone who has suffered a broken front lense on the original plastic TM P90, this next product is sure to interest. Based on the exact dimensions of the real FN-P90, they have some metal red-dot P90 scope replicas. These scopes are listed as being "easily fittable to the TM P90".

Sadly there's not much info there, but what I can tell from the translation is that the scope does not require a battery, which can only mean that it is a 'normal' scope. The RRP isn't quite a horrific as the full metal AEGs listed above, as it comes in at 39,800 Yen.

Next Event at Sopley: Sopley (my favourite local CQB skirmish site) have updated their games dates for the coming month's. Here's the dates as listed by Raqman:

"...Sunday 8th September 2002 ( Date confirmed if more than 20 people book )
Sunday 29th September 2002 ( Date confirmed if more than 20 people book )

NEW DATES.....................................
Sunday 20th October 2002 ( Space limited, please call to confirm )
Sunday 10th November 2002 ( Space limited, please call to confirm )
Sunday 24th November 2002 ( Space limited, please call to confirm )
Sunday 1st December 2002 ( Space limited, please call to confirm )
Sunday 15th December 2002 ( Space limited, please call to confirm )

Special games may appear if highly requested, such as the Lo Cap game that was a huge success, also Sopley is always open for suggestions or special bookings for 20 people or more..."

Operation Lion Claws: This info dropped in from John (of Best of USA Marketing) Operation Lion Claws is a three day event that will take place in Bakersfield, Kern County, CA on October 25-27, 2002. Here's the news from them, read more about it on their website:

"...Operation Lion Claws will take place at Bakersfield, CA 10/25th to 27th. Col. Mcknight from the 75th ranger regiment will be attending the game. He is famous for operation restoring hope in 1993 and in the movie "black hawk down"(casted by Tom sizemore). Check the website www.operationlionclaws.com ..."

Here's the full info from John himself:

"James Tai from Airsoft Elite wanted make sure that I get in touch with you regarding the upcoming Operation Lion Claws event to be held on Oct. 25~27, 2002 at Bakersfield (Kern County), CA. My outfit run special events and conventions. For those of you who collect action figures you may know the 2000 21st Century Toys Convention and the recent A Weekend of Heroes convention, both were created and ran by my outfit.

Operation Lion Claws features a field like no other. We have a designed jungle, a castle within another jungle (yeah, you can literally get inside the castle and go upstairs), a bunkered ridden forest, and a Mogandishu style highland city scape. Battles will be conducted by retired Sgt. Kenn Miller (LRRP, 101st ABA, 3 tour in Vietnam) vs. retired Col. Danny McKnight (Black Hawk Down)."

BlackHawk release P90 sling: SG1 lovers out there can now buy a sling direct from Blackhawk designed in the same style as the one's used for the popular TV show Stargate SG1. (Click the image inset for a larger version)

Jager from the Virginia Rangers was kind enough to drop me a line about this new product, the BH product number/model is 70GS06BK FNP-90 Sling Kit Black. :

"...Black Hawk has just come out with a P90 Tactical sling that allows you to carry your P90 in the same centre fashion as seen on STARGATE SG-1. The creators of FPS magazine had an add for the P90 Tac sling in issue number two which I purchased at the EAG event DIVISION on Saturday. Being the P90 fanatic that I am, asked if they had any of the slings with them. Expecting to hear 'Sorry no we don't', I heard 'Yeah I think I have one left, here you go!'. The sling costs just under $30 USD by the way. I have attached a photo of it [for] your readers. If you like it, I could shoot a better pic and get close ups as well. But I'd really appreciate it if the word was spread to other P90 users that frequent this web site. Thanks!"

Airsoft Claymore: SirSolarus has sent in new of the "world's first 'safe' Airsoft/Paintball claymore". You can find more out about the product on the website here: http://www.cioffusa.org/advtac/ . Using a spring loaded mecanism the design is intended to be totally safe, yet have the ability to lob several paintballs of BBs in a desired direction when tripped. What's more it's reusable. There's a very impressive 1.5 meg video on the website which I recommend watching. Specs are given as:

Power Source: Spring Powered. NO gas. NO explosives.
Lightweight: Weighs less than 3lbs
Dimensions: 8 1/2" L x 2" W x 3 3/4" H
Set up: Can be set up in the field in less than a minute
Versatility: Can hold any size of paintball or airsoft BB and any combination of sizes.
Inexpensive: Reusable. Can use damaged or odd shaped paintballs or recycled BBs
Safe: Uses NO explosives. Consistent velocities.

"...This project started as an attempt to build an airsoft grenade. The initial prototype worked well, shooting BBs in a 25-30 feet diameter. But the prototype would break after each firing. While working on the grenade I came up with a design for the claymore, which eventually led to the current design. With expenses mounting on the production of the grenade I decided to focus all my attention on the claymore. The claymore was a more straight forward design without the restrictions of space and weight. After many cuts and bruises and thousands of dollars I finally achieved the specifications that I wanted. A claymore that would be safe enough to use unattended with a tripwire, yet powerful enough to fire at least 25'. Don't worry the grenade will be finished as soon as I can afford to get it done right..."

General updates: I actually have some free time this weekend, so I'm gradually getting everything that I've wanted to put up for ages online. New updates at the moment include:

- New UZI review by David Jones (aka Inferno)
- New photos added to Inferno's Car15 review page
- New photos of Inferno's collection added to the photos page (under equipment)

I'm plodding through the updates as quick as I can to a crate of Asahi beer (yup gorgeous stuff and on offer when I went shopping today!). There's no particular order to the updates, but I'm trying to clear out the backlog that was generated by my moving house a few months back.

Our news: I received a couple of emails about our news page and a few other issues, so I wanted to clear up any misconceptions about how this site is run, and how it operates. This isn't a dig in any way, it's just that I thought the policies needed to be aired for everyone. When I get round to it (maybe tonight) I'll type up a page with a fuller version. In the meantime, here's a brief snippet:

- We are non-profit: Firstly the site is non-profit, this means we make no money from it. Sure we recieve the odd freebie, but that doesn't come close the the number of hours of work that I (and others) put into this website, and the costs it incurrs.

- News page: The news page is open to all retailers, manufacturers and Airsofters alike. If you see more news from any one retailer, that's simply because someone who works for them simply takes the time to email me more frequently - nothing more, there's no bias or favouritism involved.

- Reviews page: There have been a few complaints about a few reviews, in that people didn't like what was said in them about a particular product. The reviews hosted here are, and always will be, the personal view of the author, nothing more. If you have something you would like to say about a piece of equipment, simply type it up in the form of a review and email it to me, the fact that it may be of a differing view really doesn't matter - the more text and articles we get online, the more of an informed 'overall' opinion a reader can create.

Flecktarn.co.uk updates: Jo over at Flecktarn.co.uk has been kind enough to send in their latest updates. Here's the latest from Jo:

"...We've re-vamped the webpage with some subtle touches to make it easier to read (better font) and added some new products. We're also pleased to announce that the long drought of genuine German army P8 pistol holsters has finally ended. Our newest additions to the webpage are:

British Army Pro Boots, used, £39.50
German Army Gloves, lined, £8.50
Camo Netting (Swedish), three - colour woodland, £8.00
HFC Green Gas, 1000mL, with added silicone oil - £9.50
Electric Speed Loader for standard AEG mags - £29.00 (batteries not included!)

And for our autumn/winter collection 2002:

DPM Forage Cap, used, £4.00
DPM Fleece, used, £22.50

We are, unfortunately, withdrawing our line of BB grenades due to the fact that storing larger than normal amounts of explosive material (ie detonators) is a risk we would prefer not to take at this time. Apologies to all who wrote in asking for grenades, particularly those overseas for whom delivery proved to be impossible.

Please continue to visit our webpage. We are constantly adding products and features which we hope you will enjoy. We always welcome your feedback, please feel free to drop us a line!"

AirsoftClub M14 news: AirsoftClub have just released some news about their proposed M14 release. Here's the full blurb direct from them (you can find more details here):

"...We have finally come to an agreement on the production of the M14. Airsoftclub will venture into the production arena and manufacture this beauty with the help of our expert Mr Tim Chan. We are pricing the M14 at a bargain price $800US. This is not the cheapo version but the full on wooden body and all metal parts with the modified AK gearbox firing automatically.

To achieve this price goal, we need orders of at least 100 units for the economy of scale to work. If you are interested to place an order, please go to our home page and click on that magic button.

We have a lead time of 3 to 4 months once we gather the minimum number of orders. You will need to place a $600US deposit. If we don't get the minimum order, we will fully refund your money and the production will not go ahead..."

MasterChief's update: I've just received this news through Roger Stenning (editor, PracticalAirsoft) written by Liz of MasterChief's:

"Due to lack of interest, lack of funds, lack of personality (or should that be personnel?) and a SERIOUS sudden illness, Master Chief's will not be fully functional for a few months. Animal, who has the aforementioned illness, will be on his ass for a while but will bounce back in his usual style. Although it's a bad one, he sees it as a new challenge and will be back with a vengeance.

Tumbleweed strikes back: I received this some time ago from BeAsT, but sadly haven't had the time to put it up (Sorry mate). SpectreWargames are celebrating their first anniversary. Here's the beef from them:

"To celebrate Spectre Wargames first anniversary we are holding a weekend game, a sequel to our highly successful first weekender back in May.

Some features of the weekend, will be many many hours of game play, night games, use of both Spectre sites, props, NPCs and if I were to tell you any more I would ruin the element of surprise. , for more info please see the website http://www.spectre.itgo.com/tumbleweed.htm or email me Beast_spectre@hotmail.com , numbers are strictly limited to ensure we can tailor the weekend to the players requirements and to make sure everyone has a damn good time!

On me hols: I'm back.. well kinda - the only problem with going away for a bit is the hundreds of unanswered emails that appear in my inbox. I'll have to filter through them for the news items. Sorry for the short post(s), there's more to follow when I get another free moment.

1 million visitors: It's nice to see that we've clocked 1 million visitors. I'll have to organise a competition or something. ^_^

New Armstech LAM: Armstech (a Japanese company) have produced a new AN/PAQ-4C clone. To those of you that have no idea what that acronym mean, it's the same as the LAM copy that comes on the TM M4 RIS, except this is a funtional replica. There's nothing greatly new here, until you delve deeper into the text. They make this in two versions, a basic laser version, and an IR version. The IR (Infra Red) version, is not only invisible to the naked eye but, according to them, it is also safe as direct exposure to it isn't dangerous to a player's eye.

The unit can be operated by either a switch or pressure pad, is Class 2 or less (0. 9mW or less), and can be mounted on any 20mm rail. Price for the basic laser version is 25,800 Yen, whereas the IR version is a slightly pricier 58,000Yen. Many thanks to "Rouge Chris" for sending this info in. Demand for the IR version is going to be higher than the expected production run by all accounts, so you may want to get in quick to purchase one if you are interested. Do note that you'll need a working night vision setup to use the IR LAM replica.

Arnie'sAirsoft BBIPSC Special offer: Are you looking for that perfect pistol for BBIPSC? Well your prayers may be answered. Constructed by Clarence Lai himself, the Airsoft Surgeon STI open Class comes in at a respectable 980USD (for a tuned custom pistol). Here's the latest from Herman, check out the forums for more details:

"...To celebrate the interview of Airsoft Surgeon Clarence Lai, on Airsoft Players, and the blossoming of the BBIPSC sport in the UK, and to a lesser extent the US, ArniesAirsoft are proud to announce the release of the "Airsoft Surgeon STI open Class..."

New pistol from KSC: KSC's new releases are in this month's Combat magazine, that Matthew Dean has been kind enough to send in to me (thanks mate!).

In the page shown (click for a larger image) are images of the new M93r, and the new S&W M945.

Comparing the images of the new KSC M93r to the two I have here, it looks like the slide of this new version is made of a new heavier plastic composite (any translations are greatly appreciated).

What I can say, with almost certainty, is that the new version 93r is going to be an improvement on the last release (not that the 1st Gen had any real issues).

MG42 released: News in from James Rouse (thanks James), is that Shoei have finally released the MG42, as mentioned in this month's ARMS magazine. RRP is set to around 185,000 Yen.

On me hols: I'm on holiday from tomorrow night, until Tuesday, so please forgive me for not doing any updates whilst I'm away from my PC. Fear not, all is not lost, as H (aka DolphinCommand) is going to be posting the odd bit of new in our forums, specifically in the news section, so do visit to see the latest happenings from HK and Japan.

A heap load of articles and reviews have been sent in to me via email for publication. As I'm away I won't be able to publish them until I get back. Sorry for this folks. Anyway see you all when I return.. now back to my packing. ^_^

New pistol from KSC: KSC are due to release a new M93r varient. This time the details have been spotted in ARMs magazine. The new version features triple and single shot functionality, yet lacks the full-auto ability. Of interest is that is has "POLIZIA di STATO" (Polizia di Stato translates to 'State Police', and you can find their official website here) marked on the slide. The exact reasons why KSC are working on a new version are unclear, but the imminent release of WA's own M93r may well have something to do with it. Many thanks to our very own "WA nut" Matt Dean (aka Mobius Strip) for this info. ^_^

News from Clarence Lai's BlackHole visit: Whilst Herman (aka DolphinCommand) was over in HK, he popped in to see Clarence Lai, and was kind enough to bring back a story and some piccies from Clarence himself for the website. Here's the news from Clarence (article written by Herman):

"...News fresh from Japan Courtesy of Airsoft Surgeon (aka Clarence Lai) the renowned Airsoft Smith from Hong Kong.

Clarence recently went to Japan for the Black Hole 2002 Airsoft show, While he was over there, a certain little gas blow-back from KSC caught his eye - the Smith and Wesson Performance Center 945, or PC945 for short.

Out of all the goodies that Clarence spotted throughout his visit, he was most interested in this lovely new Smith and Wesson, not only for its incredibly detailed "Fish Scale" slide, but also for the quality of its internal componants! Watch out for this little number coming to an airsoft retailer near you! For more Black hole 2002 coverage, pop over to Clarences' website http://www.airsoftsurgeon.com ..." For more piccies and a longer write up Read more...

CombatClub updates: CombatClub (http://www.combatclub.net) have added a new product, not quite Airsoft, but it's related in some ways. The new item is the CVC US Army Combat Crew 12" figure set. (No they are not dols! ^_^)

"...With the help of the king of Armour Figures--Mr.Kaz, and Mr.Matsui. This figure includes 2 different versions--CVC Cover All Version and Desert BDU(Battle Dress Uniform)(6-colour)Version which is wearing a M1 body armour vest.

The helmet is designed imitating the real helmet which isequipped of head phone and microphone. The boots are made of polished leather which are more
realistic than the last version. The uniform uses fine zipper so that it is more proportional. The hair is handmade like real hair. The text on the
label is small but clear. The crew has also been equipped of a M3 submachine gun as well as a M9 pistol which is put into a M7 holster hanging on the sholder..."

Price for the Desert Storm set is USD$90 whilst the Mr. Kaz Custom Version with a special packaging comes in at USD$100. Check CombatClub's main page for more info.

New ZeroOne website launched: It's finally happened, the pigs just flew past my window! But seriously folks, the much awaited new ZeroOne Airsoft website is finally online. Here's the latest from the guys there:

"...Zero One calling! Our brand-new 2002 website is out now, closer to 2003 but hey, it's here at last with secure shopping system and lots of new products.
