On another website, it says to check the formation of the U spring before taking it apart. Do you think you could take your right grip off and take a pic, then post it? That would be great.

i sorta screwed up my m9. there is a U shaped spring that popped out when i took off the right grip. I cannot figure out how it went in, so it is not working anymore.
