  1. hbc, why're you ditching the silencer? :(  It really finishes off the assassin look.

agreed. HBC that's one of a kind. it's funny how you have turned one of the worst looking silencers (supressors) i have ever seen into one of the best. it looks as real a pistol silencer i have ever seen.

i beg you not to get rid of it.

if i had a suitable 1911 i would buy it myself. although i'm tempted to buy it off you now then sell it back to you for double when you see the error of your ways and come to me on bended knee.

i know you say you need the money but is it really worth getting rid of it just for the sake of £40? if yes then fair enough but imho i really really don't think it is.

    so just to confirm...........

    KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!11111133733733773"!$£412!"$!"%32643"£!!!!!///

  2. thanks for the tip for the rear sight mate.

in terms of weapons painting i think you might have mis-understood me. i know which parts of my gun i want to paint and i know it looks good on regular m4s and mk18s and the like but i have never seen an m4 with MRE ras with any kind of paint job and so wondered what it would look like.

thanks for trying to help anyway.

  3. i was under the impression the pistols wobble around all over the place if they are tac light holsters used without a tac light. i hope i am wrong for your sake but i looked into doing the same thing for my kimber warrior and was told by many a company that the pistol would fit but would moved around all over the place.

    cheers

  4. haha nooooooooo its my bushy. all mine........

its the hurricane one, althought part of me wishes i got the guarder one as that has trades on the right hand side of the magwel. still nice though.

    bushmaster FTW

it looked like an m961 you had there, might be cos of the lens filter, they always confuse me loads.

it's not fair, i want a working s-lap mount, might take the mount apart later and see if i can sort it. i'd love to get a real OTAL.

speaking of paint mate, what do you reckon to painting parts of it like the foregrip, pistol grip, the stock and the rail covers tan. it would suit my loadout at that time well (i've got an OD eagle PC atm with OD pouches and gear but i'll be buying khaki gear in a month) but i'm not sure if it would suit the gun itself. you seen any MRE paintjobs or anything?

    cheers

  5. nice job tek.

although slightly annoying cos what you've done is pretty much read my mind and put together almost exactly what i will be doing.

i just need the 512 and the m961 although i'll be sticking with regular rail covers but your tango down ones look great.

im not sure about which rear sight to go with. i like the one i have but i'm drawn to a flip up cos sometimes i find the solid ca BUIS i have gets in the way sometimes.

also do you find the mount of your s-lap to be a piece of *beep*. mine is utter wank, i have to put a piece of string inside the mount to keep it studdier and even then its not great.

here's mine as it is atm.

  6. whats the name/model number for that 6004 mate. cos ive got one coming for my kimber warrior and i know its has springfield operator in the name.

the number for it is 6004-56-121

    (thats black, right handed btw)

    cheers

  7. i'd been interested to see the results mate. i'll get some tests done myself with some targets too and post them this week.

firing it today at firefight reading with green and 0.25s and was so happy with it. the bb's were just flying so straight for such a ridiculous distance. no dipping no upcurve just straight down the middle so to speak. i was struggling to see the maximum range cos it was that far away.

BEST HOP UP I'VE EVER USED. GOD BLESS WESTERN ARMS.

    cheers

  8. did a few tests with my WA kimber warrior (SCW3) today.

as i have mentioned recently in this thread green gas seemed to have a very adverse affect on my slide notch.

tried different combinations of weights and gasses at 10 degrees C with wind at 15mph north easterly according to the met office website.

first up i used 134a and 0.25s because i was under the impression this is what stock WA gbbs are designed for.

134a and 0.25s = poor range (bbs dip relatively quickly)

green and 0.20s = too much hop (as predicted)

green and 0.25s = perfect range and accuracy

134a and 0.20s = average range and accuracy (it was a bit hit and miss with this combo)

when using green i did not hold the slide catch down so i could see what damage was being done.

i was pleased to see that no more wear had been caused. i believe this to be because it was quite cold outside.

134a was disappointing, again i expect this to be due to the cold temperature.

i would like to try the 134a and 0.2s in less windy conditions as they might be almost as good.

even so the 134a in the cold was struggling to get an entire mags worth out.

so for me this is just a simple case of use green gas over winter when it's pretty cold, under 10-12 degrees C i would say.

when it's over that temperature go with 134a.

i guess this is why 134a is summer gas and green is winter gas.

it is important to note that i did have to use a shooters design gas nozzle extension to get the 134a in the bumpered mags.

also that as these 4 mags worth were the 3rd 4th 5th and 6th mags worth of bbs to go through the pistol it does mean the hop up could probably do with a bit of breaking in so to speak.

i hope this helps this discussion in someway.

even though it states th obvious in a lot of places.

    cheers

    chris

  9. yeah HBC i figured it was designed for 0.25s and 134a it's just you know what it's like, green calls out to you like one of those mythical greek women that sing to ships and draw them onto the rocks.

    well maybe slightly similar.............

got 2 more 23round wilson mags today from wgc as uncompany was out of stock.

i'm off up to AA in a couple hours to stock up on 134a and join the expensive realm of 0.25s.

    thanks again

    chris

  10. if one things for sure, im gonna enjoy this little ######. especially if the scw3 hop up is all its cracked up to be.

thanks for your advice mate, it's been a great help. your only problem now is "whenever i have a problem, and don't know where to turn, i can always call................. the a-tea..... HBC team"

oh god i must be tired to write such drivel.

    anyway

    thanks again

    chris

  11. sry dp.

    @ christhesecond

use 134a with stock WA's, talks of it being wimpy are lies, my svi experts used to push 290 with hefty kick using 134a, new kimber slides go for around 110 dollars, I'd say just use 134a in it, and if the slide catch gives up the ghost then buy a new slide.

when the slidenotch on my wa wore down I sanded it, I understand it may be a little more difficult to do with abs, so if it actually effecting the ability of the slide to lock back, id just ensure you use 134a from now on...

or alternatively, fire the gun with green, with your thumb on the slidecatch, then you can be sure to not have any issues with wear ;)

some very good points, i think what i'll do is just get some 134a, seems the simplest option atm.

if the problem still persists i'll have a look at the spring fro the catch. im gonna be 100% honest now and say i cant get the slide off as i cant get the slide catch out.

the pic in the manual says push it to the right then take it out but i cant get the bugger out. (i was really hoping i could get it out myself without having to bring it up in a forum)

incase you hadn't guessed this is my first 1911, my trouble is my experience with gbb's has lead to me having a phobia of taking them apart.

edit: scratch what i said about what i think the problem is, it makes no sense. its late, tahts my excuse anyway.

when you say new kimber slides do you mean stock abs ones?

    cheers

    chris

  12. For me it was never the gas used that wore down the slidenotch, it's releasing the slide using the slidecatch without pulling the slide back every so slightly first.

I always do that, especially with my Raptor, since the slide is pretty much irreplaceable.

If I were you, just ensure you do that when firing outside of a game situation, if it wears down entirely then you can always just replace the slide, since you have a kimber, I should think any kimber slide would fit.. Thats the wonder of WA's, everything is replaceable, you just need the dough.

I only ever use 134a in stock WA's you dont get enough extra kick with green to warrant the risk.. with a metal kit however running green in a WA is the most fun I've ever had with GBB's.

    hmm

the trouble is is that the wear to the slide notch only occurs when firing. i do tend to pull the slide back when releasing the slide catch (good habits and all that ;))

but ive literally put 2 mags through it and the first time there was a tiny amount shaved off, then the second mag properly took a shaving off, i.e. there was a small shaving hanging off the slide notch, needless to say i was not overjoyed to see such things to my new sex pistol.

thanks for all your help btw, its really appreciated. anything else you can think it could be?

    cheers

    chris

  13. i got it glued perfectly in place. for me i would rather know it will stay there so i dont have to keep checking if it's still there. that's just me though, i'm quite obsessive compulsive about these things.

    cheers

    chris

  14. ok definitely not using green in it anymore.

one mags worth just chaved a considerable chunk out of the slide notch

i am genuinely on the verdge of tears ;)

did i read somewhere that this could be because the original mag?

think i read that from you hardboiled, cant remember though.

    cheers

    chris

  15. cheers lads

    one more thing

ive had bad experience with losing front sights, you reckon i should take my front sight off and put the smallest amount of super glue in there to make sure i dont lose it?

    cheers

    chris

  16. just got it today, i'm gonna leave it bone stock cos i have learnt the hard way about my skills at upgrading pistols.

i came when it arrived and i think i came again when i fired it.

    did not disappoint.

    cheers

  17. just added a ksc metal slide and shooters design 150% spring set.

annoyingly tho the installation did not go quite to plan.

the enhanced hammer spring means the hammer presses on the underside of the blowback unit when the slide is pulled back or blownback. the harder spring pushes it up too much causing too much friction so had to change back to the original.

also i have to use the original plastic outer barrel as the metal ksc one looks nice but is a piece of *beep*. the pin that holds the inner barrel in doesnt fit in the metal outer as the hole hasnt been machined accurately at all.

    very annoying

biggest annoyance of all though was part 37 i think. this is the incredibly important screw that holds the blowback unit in place.

the allen head is now completely rounded and so if i want to remove the blowback unit from the metal slide i will have to drill it out. "wonderbar he exclaimed"

    such a PITA!!!!111111111!!!!!!!

looks nice tho which is the key thing i spose

    anyway here are the pics

OY YEAH AND NUCLEAR FEET YOU HAVE CHANGED MY OPINION OF SILVER SLIDES. THAT ONE IS *fruitcage* NICE MATE, WELL DONE, WHAT SPRING SET HAVE YOU GOT IN THERE?

    cheers
