  2. it amazes me how many of the sof/sf guys were od vests and pouches with their acu! looks good, looks very good actually. might have to kit up my acu with it - its looking like its the only way to make it look good (unless you wear black with it! lol)

great pics guys, keep em coming

Which pics were you refering to when you said "it amazes me how many of the sof/sf guys were od vests and pouches with their acu!" as I can't remember any off the top of my head?

  3. Hardest part was resoldering the connections. BTW the instructions showed the worse way to rewire the EBR...

Had forgotten about that actually. I liked the instructions all though their wiring/soldering directions are dumb. Just use them to get the general idea then do it your own way.

    It's really not that hard.

  4. Any of you lucky EBR guys who uses the TM M14 with the G&P EBR kit and who can tell me if you need to do any mod to fit the parts togheter?

Also pics if so would be nice.

It's not as difficult as you might assume. I thought it would be hard but it wasn't at all.

The only actual modifications I can think of are chopping down the inner barrel by 30mm and a bit of soldering to rewire it to the front end.

The instructions are very clear and simple too.

The bit I was worried about was changing the motor housing but this is also very easy.

  5. Just got a VFC AKSU (DX).

Really really pleased with it apart from the upper handguard.

Does anybody know of a fix to keep it solid?

If put small amounts of duct tape on the insides which keeps it from wobbling but it still moves quite easily if you hold it.

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

  6. Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah when I said TM mags I just meant the standard TM 47 mags (not that I'll be using them as that would be gh3y)

I'll stick with the MAG midcaps I think. I like the idea of them being single stacked as pretty much every double stacked midcap I've used I've had trouble with.

Thanks all it's much appreciated and I'll be sure to post pics of the AKSU when it arrives.

    Cheers

    Chris

  7. Hi all.

Hope you guys don't mind me asking a quick question here.

I'm just about to buy a vfc aks74u and I want to know if the MAG ak74 midcaps are compatible with it.

I've read that TM mags aren't compatible with it and the MAG description says for TM gun so I have no clue.

Anybody had any experience with them in a VFC ak?

Apologies if this has been mentioned before. I've had a read of this thread and searched the forums but can't find any info on the subject.

    Much appreciated guys.

    Chris

  8. i would love to get the EBR Kit, but im not very confident about converting it myself. due to the fact its not a siple case of slip out the reciever and plonk it in the EBR kit,

I had the TGS kit and it was actually drop in. There's a few little bits and pieces you have to fiddle with but seriously it's so easy. The only part that you really have to change is the wiring which as long as you're confident with a soldering iron is no problem.

The TGS kit also comes with a CD with a picture walk through and also a video walkthrough.

  9. Cool.

Although, if you want my advice to make it a more accurate impression then you will need a medic pouch on the left of your PC, you will also need to change the velcro on your MICH.

Ranger SOP for the velcro on their 2000s would not allow them to have the "mohawk" style. The patches on the sides are fine but the SOP dictates that if they want velcro on the top then it has to be a square. (forget the dimensions of hand) The same also applies to the rear. I see you have a horizontal strip on the rear whereas iirc they have to have a square again.

Get yourself some bunny ears too.

Have a browse of the obvious:

    https://www.infantry.army.mil/75thranger/content/photos.htm

And you will see what I mean. You should also be able to see the medic pouch on the left of the PC.

Get yourself a real PACA in RG mate. www.triadtactical.com FTW

EDIT: Just thought that you could easily be aware of everything I just said and in which case I may have come off patronising. If that is the case then I didn't mean it to be.
