  1. I have a question for any Maruzen 870 shell-ejector owners.

I recently purchased a broken 870 (I knew it was when I paid). Aside from the normal gas leak, there seems to be something up with the pump. It can load shells just fine from the magazine tube into the chamber, but to rack the pump, I have to push on the button in front of the trigger guard (forgot the name). Even when there are shells in the chamber and the trigger has been depressed, I still have to push this button/lever to unlock the slide. Any help on this? It doesn't need to have gas for this to work, does it?

  2. Well, depends on your definition of good, but that's been discussed many times so why discuss it again.

Which is why I said it from my personal point of view, and didn't follow up on it. Let it go.

You can use whatever gas you can manage to fill the mags with. Should that be propane you will undoubtedly develop leaks eventually with the AGM mag. That is assuming its a 100% copy of the WA - which, it isn't, taking into account the varying tolerances - So you have the potential for even more problems.

The Bomber mags are clones of the WA type however they beefed up the essential parts like o-rings and valve springs to ensure reliable use on propane. I just doubt AGM did the same.

So gas X usage is primarily decided by mag make? Aside from increased wear on the gun itself. How does propane/GG affect the performance vs whatever gas it was built for?

  3. meh, it was fun while it lasted. I'd rather stick with reliable AEGs... Gas is too unpredictable for me.

    + a lot for that.

I think that we'll see the longevity of the AGM after a while. I hope at least one person keeps theirs stock to thoroughly test it.

Might pick one up in the future for a plinker. I still can't see how GIM GBBrs make good skirmish rifles.

Also, you can't use Green Gas or propane? What kind of velocity do you get with whatever gas it's "supposed" to use?

  4. Roecar quoted ThaFlash link to an eBay auction containing SMA plugs, and asked if they would work. I responded that they would not work with most Icoms or Sabers because they use an MX style plug, not the SMA one in the link (the threads are slightly different, and the connector is different entirely).

If you read the posts, you'll see they're not wanting the adapter for Icom or Sabers, but for HT10000.

  5. Great, now I need this, plus two more F21's, one of those handsets, and I need to buy another COMTAC II.

Thanks a lot for the awesome!

ETA did it drain the batteries any faster?

I just realized this is totally the wrong topic to discuss this. If you want to PM, that's fine.

  6. To go in another topic, but the blade antenna is functional, foldable and extendable and gave us almost 3 times the range of the standard UHF antenna that came with the 5W Icoms. Every man in our team was an RTO! :D

Can I please get some more info on this antenna working with an Icom?

  7. I did not realise they had those stupid pouch mounts on the armor too.... wierd. I wonder how well those stood upto ejection tests. Or were they evne meant for use in anything other than a trashhauler.

Aircrew armor is usually issued to crews flying in low-flying unpressurized aircraft such as helos and C130s.

When I transfer to MC12s, they'll be giving me an IBA.

  8. If you could actually buy one, then we'd be in agreement, but as things stand, you'd have to be very lucky to find someone who owns one and wants to sell.

It's jut not on the market anymore, and thus, it's not an option.

  9. Midland GTX something or other and EBB bowman headset with Icom pin. at the moment i can hear out the headset but cannot speak through it. anyone know if there is a remedy for that problem?

Push the PTT on the headset and the radio at the same time. It's pretty much the only way.

On the plus side, if you buy an ICOM (which I highly recommend you do), the headset will work flawlessly with it.

  10. Anyways my DBOY hi-cap broke the other day, the locking tab on the mag broke. I'm going to pick up a box of MAG mid-caps, can't wait to stop winding. XD Do MAG mid caps tend to break at the locking tab like my DBOY hi-cap did or is it just a case of the crappy plastic that the DBOY mag was made of? The DBOY hi-cap was about 3-4 months old.

I've had plastic MAG mid caps for over a year and they're still great.

  11. Nice USCM, are those Condor shingle in front?

Blackwater I-O Belt. I liked mine a bunch before I got rid of it for a different layout.

+1 to that. Get some good suspenders and it's the most comfortable system to use.
