  1. I think he is referring to the rain and mud aspects, rather than camo or looking cool :P

And yes, my desert boots are heavy duty suede and cordura. They are in no way water-proof. That said, you can always polish black boots brown, and especially these days, shouldn't be too hard to find tan coloured boots with a gore-tex lining.

My issued desert boots are GoreTex lined. I haven't really tested them out, but they do just fine in a moist environment.

  2. undisputable facts:

    1) i prefer my blouse tucked

    2) i wear it that way

    :P

    But it's WRONG! lol :P

Ok, but I'll still make fun of you, just like the guy who showed up to one of our games with his flightsuit bloused.

Question, though. How is that comfortable?

  3. actually,

on the blouse it says to tuck it in to trousers

and you can't access any of the pockets when you have a vest on

BZZT wrong. On the 'wash instructions' it says "1. Wear outside of trousers". Granted it also says "Do not starch" but we go ahead and do that anyway...

    Yes, RAID works too.

  4. for starters, i didn't know US and german were actually working together. i was under the ompression that US forces were motly in southern a-stan, and germans in the north. Or does the airforce just play taxi cos the luftwaffe don't have the propper planes?

US forces are often mixed with people from all sorts of nations, namely NATO. My squadron has a few Canadians and Australians, for example. It's not unheard of.

Pretty cool, AF using the IOTV. Bonus: RAID modified ABUs

Edit: On second thought, it might just be the APECS jacket

I'm going to say it is an APECS. I don't think we're authorized to modify the ABUs yet. We're not even allowed to iron them. Supposedly.

I can't wait for my clothing allowance so I can grab myself a set. If I have enough I might grab another top and see about that RAID modification.

  6. I'm about to order the Cyma AKM (horray tax returns) and I was thinking of modding it into an AIMS (modeled after Grims), but have a few questions. Overall, is it the correct type to start off with as a base? I don't know the particulars of AKs, but I want it to be as accurate as I can (within reason and budget). Also, will a Romy wire folding stock fit, or do I need to mod it?

    Thanks for the help!

Setting up my squad to defend the 'Ammo Depot'. I had five guys to hold the objective until 1500 to score our points. At about 1400 we were attacked by pretty much half the enemy team (10-15) and held for a while before being pushed out. Just in time, reinforcements arrived and we coordinated a pincher movement and retook the depot with five seconds to spare. Also one of the most awesome rocket-attacks I've ever seen on the part of ST46.

    Delicious MRE! Nom nom nom.

Note the radio antenna. I was borrowing my friends Midland 5W radio because we had about 250 acres to cover, and the antenna was in just the right position so that every time I looked down, it went right up my left nostril. Especially when I fall backwards.

Was a great Op, but sorely lacking in players because they're too manly to ask for directions. Looking forward to Lights Out Redux this summer.
