i wouldn't call it 'hating on', that implies that the big mean mainstream site is picking on the little niche site for being different. this could not be further from the truth. having spent a lot of time on RA a few years back i can honestly say it's got the largest concentration of stuck up, elitist twats outside of 4chan. i'm not slating the lot of you, i think it's good that you're trying to change the site's image, but the collection of fanatical, keyboard warrior manchildren (mischa michailovich comes to mind) the site has amassed has done an awful lot of damage to it's reputation.

i've only got a cache drive, same old 1TB HDD, just with an SSD and some clever software to speed everything up. i mainly chose this route for convenience, a clean install on a SSD with my old HDD for storage would have been preferable but i didnt fancy getting hold of a new copy of windows or the hassle of a clean install. if storage is your concern you should look into seagate's hybrid drives (i think they're called momentus). similar principle to my setup, only in a single 2.5" format. it will never be as fast as a proper SSD, but you're far better off for storage and it's still much, much faster than a regular HDD

azn, the SSD performance boost is phenomenal. i bought a crucial adrenaline cache drive a while back and it's the best thing i've done to my PC in ages, painfully sluggish to seriously quick in no time. i reckon an SSD is probably the most noticeable everyday upgrade you could do. bear in mind i've only got a cache drive, so the end result is far slower than a standalone SSD and even then it's made a massive difference. SSDs have plummeted in price too, so running largely on proper SSDs is actually financially viable now.

because SD cards are common and are a nice, compact size. that and most digital cameras and camcorders use them, so it'd be easy to swap pictures and videos around. USB drives are a poor idea since the majority of people won't want a damn great USB stick hanging off the side of their tablet. yes, you can get the diddy little ones, but they hold no more than an SD card, which wouldn't stick out at all. and why would you want micro SD? less space than SD at a greater cost. multiple card slots would be a nice idea though

ARGH! here we go again! it can't be that bloody expensive to add an SD slot can it!? would it not be worth the extra penny just on the odd chance that some of your potential customers *might* want a reasonable amount of storage. jesus christ, apple were offering ipods in 160GB flavour 5 years ago, and they're only capable of playing music and low res video. how are we expected to make do with 16GB when most videos are offered in HD and bigger games take up a good 1.5-2 GB each.

not really, since stuff from farm shops tends to be really nice. i'd say it's more along the lines of: little shop stocks same stuff as tesco, only with a shiny label, massive price mark-up and dubious claims that it holds the secret to eternal youth. fixed dry heat i can deal with, humidity immediately saps my energy i'm not meaning to come across as a militant apple hater here, but i'd say android has the potential to be far more user friendly. my DHD's home screens and lock screen are set up so that everything that i use regularly is in a quick and easy to reach place. no flicking through pages and pages of apps. widgets are handy too.

or just do what i do and keep the ipod in the glove box at all times. if i need music on the go i've got my desire HD, which frankly sounds better anyway. iphone (and apple in general) pricing is a complete joke!

presumably because it's possible to brick your phone in the process, that and it allows you to play with the CPU clock speeds etc. after all, overclocking PC components invalidates the warranty.

ha! i know the feeling. i was diagnosed as a probable aspie as a child, my folks never followed up on it but i've always displayed difficulty with social interaction, displaying emotion and i've always had very restricted and obsessive interests. i also had quite a lot of female friends, quite a few of whom i now know for a fact wanted me and i used to kick myself for not acting on it. gunmane, you'll find someone eventually. i guess i'm quite lucky with my current girlfriend in that i pretty much stumbled upon her, i've never really gone out looking for someone, frankly i don't think i'd know how.

i like dodo juice. i always use their sour power shampoo, smells great, cleans well and always leaves a better shine than the meguiars stuff my dad uses on his civic. never used their proper wax since i've still got a damn great tin of collinite 915, but i bought some of their need for speed cleaner wax stuff and it seemed pretty good for when you can't be bothered to do a full polish and wax

to be honest that sorta thing has never appealed to me. i've done a couple of 1 nighters and hollow relationships before now and never really got anything from them. i'm much happier in a nice relationship with a girl that shares an unreal amount of common ground with me, that i feel 100% comfortable around and genuinely enjoy her company. i don't give a *fruitcage* about being a 'good person', i kinda nicked my best mate's girlfriend so i'm a bit of a scumbag really (although i like to justify it by pointing out that he didnt give a *fruitcage* about her and was still seeing his ex)
