I am a Doctor of psychology, and after spending many hours reading your reviews I have decided you are a perfect subject as one of my psychiatry patients... here is what I have deduced from your incoherent ramblings so far: -

    1. You are probably in your mid 40's and still live with your mother

    2. You have never had a proper girlfriend

    3. You have never left the country (apart from a Lad's holiday to Magaluf)

    4. You only play airsoft so you can spend time with young men in uniform!

    5. You have a very big gun to make up where you are oh so lacking in other 'manly' areas

    6. You idolise hitler and probably have neo-nazi tendencies

If you want to sign up as my patient, let me know I would be more than happy to give you free therapy

    The Brain Doctor

p.s. Razor is spelt R-A-Z-O-R, or are you trying to be ironic?????

Oh how wrong you are on all counts excpet the spelling of my name,a nd then it means something totally different to what you think it does so it's spelt right.

Also why did it take you hours to read my reviews? I've only done four. But I agree you must have the brain level of a four year old so reading probably takes you a little longer.

Do you work for AI in some way?

So you felt compelled to sign up to a site to post that and then you're telling me you have mental issues I think you need to get a mirror and take a good long look into it.

  2. As a small follow up. I carried it on a walk/run this morning for about 7 miles. Fully loaded I was worried about the lack of a waist belt but I found that the shoulder and chest straps distributed the weight amazingly well and made the whole thing evry comfortable. It also held up well to the small amount of rain that I encountered...

  3. OK, for a while I've been in line for a new tactical pack. I didn't really know what I wanted so i did the sensible geardo thing and just went and bought/ordered a load of packs and rucksacs.

The first one that actually turned up (because i got fed up of companies in the USA waiting to send me things) was the Recon Pack and I've got to say I was really REALLY pleased with it on first impressions, the material was nice and heavy, feeling good quality. The zips are fantastic and instead of the usual fiddily zipper pull things they're opened with ParaCordall the buckles are good quality ones 9and will take point blank shots from an AEG). The grab handle atop the pack is well attached and because of the odd shape is very nice to carry a heavy pack with.

Upon opening the bag there is the main storage compartment with two seperate internal pouches sealed by velcro. Also there is a large pannel running the entire length of the bag that is filled with camping mat (type material) to protect your water bladder and comfort your back and a harder piece (to go in front of the bladder) to protect it from sharp things in the bag. On top, beside the carry handle, there are ports to allow the hydration tube to exit or a radio aerial, stereo headphones or many things. These are sealed by velcro so foreign objects won't fall in.

On the front of the bag is a smaller compartment that is ideal for waterproofs and also has another velcro'd internal compartment. This whole thing is sealed via two fastex clips on the front and there is an internal rain hood to protect the contents from the wet.

The straps are some of the best I've worn, well padded and will attach to 3 different points on the back of the bag. there is a chest strap but no waist belt.

Atop the bag there are two compression straps to add a roll mat or the like.

And on the back there is a strip of velcro to add the required cool guy patches (have attached my SNAFU, Got MILF and nametape to mine).

On the sides of the bag there are MOLLE loops so if you wanted you could add pouches. The loops are 5 wide and 3 deep (I've added 4 M4 mag pouches and filled them up with things I need to get to in a hurry FFD, Mars Bar, spare batterys ect)

    Dimensions: Main compartment -- 13"(W) x 16"(H) x 4 1/2"(D) -- 935 cubic inches.

    Cargo pouch -- 13"(W) x 11"(H) x 3 1/4"(D) -- 465 cubic inches.

    Weight: 1350 g

    Color: Olive Drab

    Material: DuPont 1000-Denier / 500-Denier CORDURA

    PROS:

    Great quality,

    Very very spacious,

    Comfortable to wear,

    Well designed.

    CONS:

Front pouch internal rain hood won't close tight enough for my liking.

    No waist belt.

Out of 10 I would like to give this a 10 because I have owned a lot of bags by lots of makers and this is the first one I would be happy to take anywhere and do anything with. SInce I got it I've been living out of it and using it as my primary item to carry everything in.

It comes in OD, US TRI, US Woodland, Tan, and Black so no matter what your loadout or requirments it would suit you.

  4. So I'm willing to put up with the extra amount of advertising from AW for the time being (let's see the other retailers put their money where their mouth is and buy some space too then!).  I'm also willing to put up with naff "Young Guns" and "Fem side" articles for the time being as well.  In time, I'm sure they'll get their house in order and the quality will improve.

Best way to ensure that it does is to support the guys and offer them some constructive feedback about what would be better - not just shooting your mouthes off about what "sucks".

Well sadly I'm not, when i buy a magazine to do with my other hobby the adverts are subtle and I don't feel like the whole thing is one big marketing campaign for one advertiser.

If the AI people read this thread they can see where they are going wrong and then maybe they will correct it.

However this is my review and my opinion and I will no change my mind for any reason, because airsoft is about to be banned or because it's hard work writing a magazine or whatever. Yes I'm sure it is hard work but maybe they need to look at the way they do that hard work and then find a better way of doing it.

I can honestly say there was one thing in the whole magazine that interested me and that was an advert.

I can honestly say that i have spoken to 40(ish) people about it and they agreed with me.

maybe we're all just "desk-bound, chair-borne rangers" (even though i hardly ever get to sit behind my desk) and maybe I'm not a magazine editor or wroter BUT I am a potential customer so my opinion should count for something....

  5. OK then in the interests of fairness I've showed Ai to my non airsofting other half and she made the following comments

"Do you know the people who wrote it?"

    No, I don't.

"What's this bit about that woman got to do with anything"

    Good question...

"Do airsoft warehouse own this magazine"

OK, I know that AI needs people to sponsor it to keep it going but even when a non softer can see that it's virtually a "AW advert" then I can't see the point in it....

  6. And the thing is I'm not alone in this. A number of people I spoke to at Arniegeddon about issue one felt very patronised by the reviews (esp the one telling you how to load a GBB mag) and then everyone I have shown issue two to has made the same comments, that they think it could be a lot better also that they wouldn't buy it...

  7. They stock all sorts of weird stuff that you would think no-one was interested in....but it still sells. We'll have to wait and see I guess...its pointless speculating. Its just in our darkest hour, with a total ban on the horizon I don't get why you can't see the importance of the mag and that supporting it will not only help make the mag better in the long term but may help keep the sport alive full stop.

Yes I know they do, but my local newsagent won't stock one magazine I want because he thinks there'll be no call for it beyond me, even though it's a massive thing. So how will AI get out there?

  8. Only last week I went in for a copy of Guns and War Death and Destruction Monthly, my eye fell on Crocheting Weekly and I now have a large collection of hand crafted tea cosies......erm probably....

The plan is to get it into newsagents but they are trialling first with the retailers as its a way to get the name around first so that the first issue on newstands doesnt totally flop.....

But why would newsagents stock it? I mean how big will their audience be in things like

Mr Smiths local news (for local people) in EmptyVille NoWhereshire won't take it because nobody around airsofts and they've never been in to ask if they stock the magazine....
