Yeah only removed the 'spikey' end on mine. Very nice IBICO, i like the gas block, might have to have a look into those.

Erm took me a bit of time to get it fitted but this was more down to lots of trial and error and seeing if it was going to work, now i know it does would be much quicker to do again. Even quicker once i get some decent tools. Longest bit is probably getting the screws right so it sits straight. I got this one from ebaybanned. Its a G&P solid stock kit for the WA version. The thread was slightly different, i think it was the depth, but with a bit of elbow grease it went on and is rock solid.

Got the DD MK18 7" front on finally. Same problem as everyone though that the barrel nut wouldnt fit, went on couple turns but no further. Annoyed with this i had a think and came up with a solution which done the job... i used the original barrel nut that came with the rifle. How? well i cut the 'spikey collar' off the top and smoothed it down a little and it makes exactly the same nut as what you get with the RIS kit but screws on perfectly. Got some new RIS kits in today and tried them out on the gun: Omega Style M4 free-float RAS Magpul PTS MOE Handguard Dboys Metal KAC RASII Dboys CNC Matte Black Quality Aluminum M4 RIS Kit SPR MOD style handguard All took less than that 10 mins to fit, other than the SPR grip which was a bit longer as it was a different outer barrel. Also got a DD Mk18 Copy to fit but that was enough for tonight and need some sleep, gonna be counting AR15's in my sleep.

CountFloyd: Dont worry you dont need a whole new charging handle, just the latch which is the bit thats broken. This was something that seemed to be pretty common in going on the first versions, newer ones should come with a steel one. I think AB sell the steel one seperately too for not much.

Yeah but we dont all have RS ones in our country for $20, which would probably end up costing double that including shipping from the US, so $16 inc shipping is very appealing. I cant see why it wouldnt fit, both the WA and WE are designed to take RS parts.

Yep as slu said the outerbarrels will go on, not sure on the barrel nut buti imagine it will, just need some pins in the side to make it 100% secure.

No idea, barrel nut was the one that came with the RIS and as i said dont know what make it is.

It actually can fit straight on, the only difference between the WA and WE is the WA has slots top and bottom where as the WE has lugs that go in at the sides. Clamps on 99% securely with just the barrel nut but it would be easy enough to make up 2 lugs or similar to go between the outer barrel and the body just to stop any chance of it turning. Will be getting a load of different front end RIS's to try in 1-2 weeks including a SPR grip so will get photos etc done once i have them.

Magpul MOE grip fits straight on without trouble and looks very nice. As for taking a hammer to your gun, the front sight is held on by 2 pins and a allen key screw then slides off so not hard. Heres a full length rifle i made up the other week G&P WA M16A2 outer barrel G&P WA M16A2 Solid stock RIS was borrowed from one of my AEG's and has gone back on there now, not sure of the make. Front sight is D-boys folding sight, the WE front sight has different spacings for the pins than AEG's so had to use a AEG one.

Nice rifle rottenotto. Sorry to see the broken part, not had any trouble here with that bit and dont recall anyone else mentioning it.

Thanks 4boost/rottenotto. Yeah i was looking at the MAID grip and i think i will be getting one of those at some point. The RIS was from ebaybanned, $73 on there. Its a good fit, slightly filled the lower half which goes round the delta ring but not much. Sadly it sits about half a mil too high from the recievers top rail but hardly notice it. Only thing that could be better is the colour of the finish as its a blue(ie) sort of colour but otherwise its great, nice and solid.
