  1. This thread is too quiet :(

My P99 NBB have been broken for nearly a year but now I got a friend to fix it. I'm all happy now!

Nothing special about it, just a bit worn.. Have the silencer too but i really dont like the look of the light and silencer together

I'd really like to have a GBB P99 too <_<

What holster do you use with that?

  2. Hope this hasn't already been covered, but what kind of inner barrel is it?

    Standard AEG compatible one?

If you look down the middle of it can you tell if it is a TK hop-twist barrel?

  3. If you actually look at any of the CTARs in use in the Israeli Defense Forces, (I am Israeli btw), they mostly do not use a MARS sight. And most of them have a rail so that any mount can be placed. In the army, having a sight built in permanently is ignorant to say the least.

Thank you for bringing some much needed clarification to the thread, Sayeret.

Most of the pictures I have seen of a squad or larger size dismounted infantry has one or more CTAR's with TA-31 ACOGs mounted. I suspect this may be their new standard squad level marksman's rifle.

  4. Quick question guys. I have the firing auto on semi problem that some people had been reporting. So I installed a guarder cut off lever to see if that straightened it out. It didn't. But I'm not sure I installed it right. Never done a cut off lever before.

It seems to have some play in it, not just on the rotational axis, but it wiggles a bit too. When I installed it I noticed that it seemed as if the screw should go down tighter, but it didn't. When I was done, I noticed that I had a shim laying on the table. Did VFC actually put a shim on the cut off lever? Is my Guarder cut off lever somehow out of spec?

    Thanks guys.

  5. For all you SIG 55x owners, is it possible to run the gun's wires and mini-tamiya through one of the handguard holes to connect up with a PEQ? Or conversely, is it possible to run the "female" small-type tamiya from a mini-battery through one of the holes to meet up with the gun's "male" small-type tamiya on the inside of the handguard?

For example, see the holes on the handguard of the SIG 552 pictured below:

Why yes, yes you can :)

  6. Put your radio model number into google and see if you can see what the band split is.

Also, there is an advantage to using a radio that only you and your friends can talk on. If you are at an event that allows listening in on enemy channels you would be pretty safe.

  7. SCARs were most certainly not "issued" since 2004. And the correct current generetion flash hider is the ACC style 3-prong flash hider. Although there have been rumors of AAC losing the suppressor contract I have seen no proof of this.

  8. Update.

Mag midcaps DO NOT fit without modification. You have to file the area that the magazine catch engages to make it shorter, or you could file the mag catch itself to be shorter.

aannnd my semi automatic disappeared again, i took apart the gear box and couldn't find anything amiss, reassembled it and it worked fine

Feldjager, would you mind posting some pictures and a tutorial on how to do this? I see this question has been asked many times on other forums.

  9. Thanks mate, gonna have a go at wiring a MOSFET into mine I think - if that mega MOSFET will fit inside a SCAR receiver then a simple AB MOSFET should too!

Go for it. A couple of things I'll caution you about if you want to place it between the bolt assembly and outer barrel.

    1. The fake bolt has these flutes in the bottom. Depending your MOSFET layout, you may need to cover those up to prevent you MOSFET from getting caught in the flutes and breaking when you rack the charging handle back.

    2. The fake bolt also has a semi-useless (as in not 100% necessary) guide extension on the lower front. You may want to cut that off for the same reason, depending on how far forward and how big your MOSFET is.

Both of those things kind of depend on the size, shape, and placement of your MOSFET. So you may not need to worry about either of them.

  10. Yeah. I mean, it's not hard to field strip. Getting the wires tucked all back in isn't hard now that I've gotten the hang of it. There's just a certain way to layer the wires, then you slide in the lower receiver, then insert the pin. Voila, done.

I will admit, the first time I took it apart after getting it back from AWS I was like, how the hell am I going to get all this back in there?! But, it wasn't that hard.

Come out to a game and check it out.

  11. cool videos Mig1, that wiring job looks complicated!

Next time you open her up please can you take a couple of photo's showing how the MOSFET is attached to the connector set at the back? I've always wondered if/how you could connect a MOSFET to a SCAR.

Well, basically main power is still supplied through the two contacts at the back of the lower receiver. Power then goes to the MOSFET from those two contacts and from there it gets distributed back to the motor.

Attached are two pictures AWS Airsoft took while installing it for me.

  12. Thanks, Magz!

Yeah, we had to tuck the MOSFET in between the fake bolt and barrel assembly. The space was perfect for it.

The cool thing is that I still have the realistic field stripping. When you pop out the lower reciever, all of the wires are then connected to the PCB via micro deans connectors or deans ultra connectors. I just disconnect those and proceed with field stripping the gun.

My original plan was to place it in the AN/PEQ-15. But Having 8 wires running out to it was just not something I wanted to pursue.

I'm basically done with the gun at this point. Going to drop in a couple of more internal upgrades, then get some TD SCAR rail covers and a TD grip (once I figure out which one I want). Then that's it.

  13. I know this is a picture thread, not a video thread, but here's my VFC Mk16 Mod0 SCAR-L with awsairsoft MOSFET video review:

Part 1 Bolt hold open demo

    Part 2 Overview of internals.

Part 3 AAR and tracer demo (can only see the tracers in full screen view, frickin youtube!).

BURST fire test. I will probably turn the burst fire feature back off, since the real SCAR does not have a burst limiter.
