  1. I SUPPOSE you could try if you wanted to. Some of them you can, some of them you can't. And by can't what i'm saying is it'll explode. And by explode what i'm saying is the little internal widgets will come flying out the barrel.

Also, on an unrelated topic, I kind of wonder if the CAW outer barrels would fit the new tanaka SAA.

CAW barrel is a drop fit for the new SAA's

  2. Hi,

After reading the review of redHawk about the Tanaka M65, I buy this pistol. I'm very happy with it, but I notice that sound of the gun firing seems louder that RedHawk write on the review. So, when I fire with a bullet in the pistol the sound is (in my opinion) the equivalent to a breaking glas on the ground. Is there a way to reduce the sound? The gas can be the problem? The bullets?

Thank you very much for your help.

    :D

using heavier bb's will change the muzzle pop.

First shot not firing is simply due to the cylinder misalignment after the shells are loaded. If you set it straight manually, not a problem. Its just a small quirk and not so much a big issue once you get used to it. Havent chronoed the gun yet, so not sure of the velocity yet.

Shot consistency is poor. Fault also seems to lie partly with the cylinder pin; there is very slight movement, just enough to allow the inner cylinder casing to not line up perfectly to the inner barrel. I'm going to try shim it, but maybe possible to switch the cylinder sear with a real steel one; it might make a difference I hope.

Still like the gun though, realism is as good as it gets. I wish the shells didnt look like spent cartridges though...

Oh, and the pic, its fitted with the CAW Artillery metal outer barrel with non-hop inner barrel, wood grip and the metal cylinder casing. Will change out the cylinder bolt stop & cylinder sear with real steel ones shortly, and will definitly get ride of the cheapo wood grips as soon as my AJAX grips come in the mail ;)

  4. Eeeeewwww........

What's an AU-2G "sniping gun" anyway?

    Who made that?

Looking at your previous posts, your website and other ridiculous nonsense you post, I wouldnt be surprised if you painted that gun yourself. The only thing missing is your rubber knife taped to the front. Now, do keep your online presence limited to things you know about like doll collecting & lego, and and let this AUG topic flow without your worthless banter.

  5. Let this be a lesson, expensive does not equal better built. Stuntman, I replied via PM to you.

I'm going to be selling all the parts that are in good shape, if anyone wants 'em let me know.

Its a crappy feeling, I've had my share of expensive lessons

Speaking of which, please let me know if you are selling your stock. Thnx.

  6. Whitedingo: Thanks, it looks a bit odd if you look at it as is, but actually looks quite normal if you look at the gun when it is being held/fired.

cyclops, that's an awesome foregrip but I'd get a new pistol grip to match. maybe something like this: http://cheaperthandirt.com/SHT086-56149-2166.html

it would be easy to fit on the maruzen too.

I was thinking about a TacStar, but for some reason, I find them kind of uncomfortable. I was thinking of going back to a Houge Tamer (like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Hogue-Pistol-Grip-Remi...1QQcmdZViewItem) but still havent really decided. The thing right now is, the G&P foregrip matches the finish of the Witness Protection grip quite well, whereas the Houge has too much of a rubber finish and the TacStar would look too shiney in contrast with the G&P foregrip... Agh, I dunno... lol

Titleist: Looks good as it is, maybe polish up the inner portion of the outer barrel perhaps? I think the rest of the wear will come on its own quite nicely. As always, great pics!

I picked up the G&P Mad Dog foregrip; cycling the gun is extremely easy and actually stabilizes the way I shoot. Might have to get a new pistol grip to make it match up, but definitly worth the $30.

Oh, and the reason why I never bought the G&P Outer barrel is simply because the ANGS outer barrel holds down the hop-up spring in place much better than anything I've used to date. I do prefer the look of the Mad Dog outer barrel though...

  8. Very neat looking little pocket pistol shotguns! ^_^

Shame they don't fire well (or at all) with a fully gassed up shell, but I'm curious... anyone ever tried putting a AS slug shot or scatter shot shell in one of em? I'd be really interested in seeing how that would work out.

Wouldnt make a difference since the striking pin, or push pin is too slow to open up the valve quickly.

  9. Replied to PM, might as well post here in case anyone else wants to know :P

The extension was made for me, tis just modellers resin (iirc  ) and paint though. Not terribly in focus, but here you can see it before painting. That lovely green ¬_¬ and the normal colour of the resin. Paint doesn't stick to it very well I have to say.

And nothing happens. The trigger has no mechanism really, it's just the force of your finger pressing the hammer down. A tanaka shell, on a complete fill of gas, has too much internal pressure for your finger alone to trigger the valve. Which means you have to half fill it. Which gives *fruitcage* pathetic results. You could honestly throw bb's further.

If you could modify the trigger mechanism somehow, it would be a fantastic piece. As is, it's meh at best. Unless you have freakishly strong fingers o.o

    :zorro:

So like the Mad Max shotgun clones, no hammer spring it seems. Darn....

  10. Just checked on HWS' site and you're right, they're plated, not solid brass.

I thought they were real brass. It's ever so heavy...

    Cheers.

Damn... I was hoping the new versions would have the actual brass grips :(

Uploaded a new picture of my Hartford Remington New Model Army.

    Cheers.

How do you like it? I had the earlier versions where you had to pull the hammer back rapidly in order for the cylinder to click into the right space. I'm told that has been remedied with the newer models so you can pull the hammer back as slowly as you like and the cylinder will line up fine with the barrel.

  12. I changed the cylinder on the M19 so the finish matches up better:

    M19update.jpg

Again, my SD prototype didnt come with the cylinder set so I was just using the original black M19 cylinder which looked very "grey" in contrast to the CNC kit. I swapped the cylinder off a midnight gold M19 which turns out to be a very close match ;)

  13. Speedfeed makes the witness protection grips for the M500's too, for some reason they are priced lower than the Remington version. However, I have no idea on how much, if any modifying has to be done as I never owned a Marushin shotgun.

I saw Evo's gun a week ago, looks much better in person, and perfect for the CQB field we have here. Are you going to try put on a different grip? Maybe the Houge pistol grip that peter used to have..?? Lots of choices on Ebay ;)

BTW evo, I canceled the entire order, so I will have to start over again. I'll email you later.
