  1. Thank you, kind sir. Much blood, sweat, and tears went into producing that pistol. The next, and quite possibly the last, presentation grade pistol will be for Hitman, this time it will be western arms AND 1911 based.
  2. I didn't want to take it on at first, but it's one of those cases of "how skilled am I." I had to work with outside artisans to get the results I wanted, and I needed to convey to them what needed to be done, and make it all work with a tuned gun. Lotsa times, family comes first and I can always use the money to put food on the table, despite the fact that I have an aversion to KJW.
  3. Later this evening, Hitman will be posting my review along with the pictures for a presentation grade KJW m9. Fully engraved and 24k gold plated. It's odd for airsoft, but it represents the passion of a dedicated owner, much like the work I do for Hitman. It's unique and in the near future I will be undertaking the last of these presentation grade builds for Hitman, but 1911 based.
  4. The conversion was based on an MEU late version with the novak low profile sights.
  5. Here's the answer. When properly tuned, the HFC's make more power than the TM m9's and they are cheaper. I only changed the cylinder spring and the rocket valve to sweeten the deal. You'll notice that there are no other performance parts. I achieved comparable performance in my previous HFC m9 overhauls without changing any parts. Just balancing and blueprinting as it were. This was also an experiment to see if it could be done, and I think that goal was achieved. You're never going to learn anything if you don't push the limits to see what can be done. As a gunsmith, it's somethin
  6. Most of you will think that I'm off my rocker for even suggesting any type of build up using an HFC anything as a base gun. I thought the same thing until i worked on 2 of the damn things for vipermaster, a member of the Hagibis airsoft group, up in Los Angeles. I guess I should say a few brief words on the donor. It's an all metal m9, but strangely, everything about it is oversized. The frame and the slide are just a hair over normal. When placed side by side with a TM m9, it looks like the Marui's fat younger brother. When you build 1911's professionally, this simply will not do.
  7. When I first received this particular gun for build up, I wasn't particularly enthused about it. It was as plain black as a gun can be. No trademarks, no govt. markings, basically a sterile black gun with wraparound Pachmayr's, which i don't particularly like either. The gun is equipped with novak style 3 dot lo pro sights, an ambi safety that drags on the right side, and a silver three hole trigger, the only non-black part of the gun. There are minor niggles, and all of them have solutions. You don't have to accept whatever the manufacturer gives you. If it bothers you, change it or im
