Managed to pick up a KA Ultimak rail second hand for a very nice price.

They are ACM clones though, I cant justify the full price for a PTS one unfortunately, the stocks would end up costing more than I paid for the CA G3s!. The magpuls and the RVG's are PTS though.
I know what you mean about a slant, however I think the sudden drop fits with the solid lines of the barrel and cocking tube.

In my experience no.
I tried mate an LCT AMD65 front end with a CYMA050 (Romanian AIMS) receiver.
The outer barrel on the LCT is wider than the cyma, and the block attached to it (forgot the name) is thinner. I have not tried the other way round (cyma barrel on LCT receiver..)
It would probably be possible with some sanding, however I was unwilling to go to town on either piece so aquired an LCT receiver.

Built by myself over the last few months. I think I'm happy with it now, shoots like a laser, handles well and I think it looks good.
Maybe a stubby grip instead of the standard KA long grip.
A longer version will be ready soon

How much modification does it take to mount an SD front end on a G3?
Currently fitting wood to my G3. Stock is done. Handguard is tricky - not sure I want to chop the metal strip below the gas tube to fit it properly. Any suggestions?
Also: getting desperate for G3 midcaps now. Anyone know a source for a reasonable priced ones (including shipping to UK!)?

I run 7.v 2200mah nunchuck Lipos under my both my G3's RIS; the size is 101 x 19.8 x 12.3mm (LxWxH).
This fits in the full length G3 and the M41 I have.
Pics related: Its the battery mounted in my M41's ris. No dremelling required.. just a bit of fung shei when fitting.

Yeh it is. It's the 4 screws around the magwell type of attachment.
The thing is the upper receiver has a weird part sticking out towards the gas block under the handguard. My CA and ICS AK's dont have this and I do not think the railed gas block will sit over it
Will take it apart tomorrow to have a better look.

On a related note, I spent the afternoon stripping a horrid paintjob from an SR25.

I love FS:
I ordered a hop unit I needed for a game on a sunday, on friday night at 5pm. They managed to get it to me for 8:30am saturday
Only problem I had - they sent some krylon I ordered too no.26, not no.126. They rang me and asked why it wasn't delivered, realised their mistake and sent it off again; I received it the next day.
Always have been fast and good service, would recommend them to all.

Cyma rear wired V3 will work..
The ICS one is better though, why bother replacing it?

I found an ebay seller in the UK doing these for ~£30 inc P&P. Just waiting on royal fail to get their act together and start delivering to my area again..
