  2. Got a new bag for work a couple weeks ago. I work as an EMT/Firefighter for two fire departments here in Michigan. Ive been using a LBT 1562B but wanted something a little more modular and have always been interested in Mystery Ranch so I decided to bite the bullet and got a RATS pack in Multicam. Wish they had it in Black or OD but Im not a huge fan of CB or Foliage and the Red seemed too bright for my taste.

My thinking behind the lay out is for a mass casualty incident. Each pouch is set up the same and can be handed out if need be. Still need to get a couple more tourniquets and chest seals but for the most part its loaded the way that I would like. Also need a couple NPAs and possibly a pocket BVM. Advantage for me over the LBT pack is I can store the same amount of stuff (even a little more) in a smaller package and I have my most used items (BP Cuff, Glucometer, Gauze etc) in the front where I can get to them without even having to open the bag. But so far I love the pack. Construction wise, it blows every company out of the water, even LBT...which Im surprised to say. Would have put this in the First Aid Thread but it seems to be archived =/.

  3. Work Helmet:

Nowhere near as high speed as what you guys have, but it gets the job done =P Looking at picking up a set of ESS Innerzone 2 goggles as well as a Streamlight Vantage Helmet Light. Still fairly new even after six months, but its been to a couple motor vehicle accidents and structure fires where I worked at the rehab station. I start fire school in October so hopefully that'll take the "showroom" look off of it.

  4. Update:

Overview of my London Bridge Trading 1562B; this is my jump bag that I use for work. Recently received an LBT Oxygen Tank bag, along with a Class B O2 tank and regulator from the Fire Department. In addition to the tank and regulator, I also received a nice little package from North American Rescue. Bag is *almost* done, all I need is a few more tid bits here and there and it will be completed.

  5. @ frogfish,

How do you like the Tyr IFAK? How is the quality of their products? (On par with LBT or Eagle in terms of stitching/quality control/material) I've been debating on whether or not to snag up one of their IFAKs...I like the design of the SOF one in particular but I'm a little hesitant with them being a rather new company.

  6. I think your artsy fartsy came out nice. That's also a very nice bag. I debated buying a STOMP, but I just might go with that one because of how it looks to be set up. Any negatives you've found on it so far?

Only "negatives" I have found with the bag is that it is a wee bit smaller than my sisters Blackhawks version and the shoulder straps are made of a very light, non danier nylon fabric. Despite the fabric not being 1000D Nylon like the rest of the bag, its a hell of a lot nicer than the Blackhawk by FAR. My brother in law went through two Blackhawk STOMP II's while he was in Mosul in 06-07 and my sisters bag (Which is a STOMP II and has seen very, very light use) is starting to show wear in the stitching between the bag and the shoulder straps. I dont mean to degrade Blackhawk by any means, but the quality you get from London Bridge Trading cant be beat IMHO, especially with the lifetime warrenty. If you have any more questions about it fire away, sorry about the delayed response, work has kept me pretty busy as of late. Do you plan to use it for Fire/EMS or Military use?

  7. Got this about two weeks ago from the folks at London Bridge Trading; took them three months to make it, but the time was well worth the wait. Intended purpose for the bag is to be used as my jump bag for work; Im an Emergency Medical Technician with a rural fire department in Michigan and this allows me to carry more of the basics then I was able to with my TSSI M4 Medical Bag. Its still a work in progress and Im missing a fair share of items that Id like to put into it, but I think its a *decent* start so far. Also, please forgive my lame photography skills, I was trying to be creative and they didnt turn out as nice as I would have liked.

Sorry for the incredibly long post, but thats my bag so far. For those of you that are wondering, everything was paid for out of my pocket except for the airway stuff, which we are allowed to grab from supply. Big thanks go out to Mandy at LBT for getting me a great price on the bag.

Still looking to add the following:

    x2 ETD's

x8 North American Rescue S Roll Gauze (Or H&H Primed's)

*Note: helmet, LAW, *M4 CQBR Block II/MK 18*

Interesting photo. It almost looks like hes carrying a LBT-1562A as well...it'd be pretty cool if he was, you dont see a whole lot of photo's of the Medics.

  9. Yes indeed, there is. However no one ever specifically points to the most seen combinations. It seems as if everyone has there own ideas thrown about as to what they are wearing nowadays. I was simply posting up for anyone who would be willing to throw out what they see the most, and what they would recommend.

Albeit yes, there is a ton of info in this thread, it just seems that most of it is scattered about and hard to compile...

Well, thats the problem. If you look, its hard to find a time period where say one PJ or one Squadron is wearing the same kit in the same time throughout their community. If you look at threads like the Navy SEAL thread or the Army SOF thread, you can look at say a specific time (Lets say the Modern Ranger Thread and see dozens of photos of Rangers from the 2006 era in Iraq wearing RBSS's or go to 2007 and see a handful of pictures of Rangers wearing RRV's with Rear Panels and cummerbunds etc or now where they're all pretty much wearing EI MAV's and MC) and they pretty much stay consistent with their gear for the time frame your going for. Now you look at PJ's and they're wearing pretty much anything and everything you can think of. Out of all the photos that came out of this year, you can see each PJ or Squadron is different and have their own "style". Some are wearing the AFSOC Paraclete HPC, others are wearing the LBT-6094, while some are wearing PACA (styled) carriers with some form of chest rig. Easiest advice would be to find a picture YOU like and go from there with how you want your gear to be, after all its your load out. Your paying for it and your the one who's wearing it; kind of stupid to pay as much as you will for an "accurate" loadout if your not going to be comfortable in it. Plus, after all, we're not PJ's or SOF (With the exception of Thirteen Autumns whos in the pipeline) so no matter how hard we try, we'll never have a truly accurate "PJ Impression". But, Ive been wrong in the past so take this for what you want. Hope it helps.

  10. I can tell because your partner is putting on a c-collar with no litter in sight LOL. I like the impressions none the less!

To add a little bit of salt in the wound, Im going to continue this by saying that no one was holding C-Spine while the collar was being dug out of the pack, lol. During my EMT class, if we ever let go of C-Spine we would insta-fail, but some of the guys that Ive talked to who have TC3 (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) training have said things like that arent necessarily as important as controlling/maintaining CAB (Circulation Airway Breathing). Thirteen can touch on that more if your interested, Im just a Basic (and a civi) so I dont know all the cool guy high speed stuff that he does. But aside from that, great pics! How do you like the Blackhawk SOF pack?

  11. My gear, some new stuff, some old.

  14. @Soba:

Ive been looking at picking up one of those drop leg medical rigs and I was wondering if you could telll me if the black hawk model can hold more then just the 1 ETD per loop. It seems like the NA RESCUE model can hold 2 per loop, but Im not sure of the quality of their products. Thanks in advance.

See thats what I hate about CB, in some pictures they look like a light tan and others they look like a very dark brown. I realize that flash, lighting etc, all plays in with this, but I even see it on the field sometimes too. But anyways, nice rig, I may have to do a similar one like that, but in RG.
