  1. Someone made a post a few pages back, about removing that plunger that makes the hop adjuster click, and shimming the rod with teflon tape, so you can adjust the hop more precisely. I did this and found I could get a perfect hop setting, whereas with the clicky adjuster I couldn't. Something to bear in mind when you take it all apart (and if you lose it).

  2. My MP7 seems to be having issues with Firing, I loaded up my 4 long mags gassed fully, they all fire perfectly but if i reload them and fire it off, lots of bb's get stuck in the barrel on every magazine. I shouldn't need to refill the magazine every time, surely? i remember when i first got it and got 4 fully loaded mags on full auto before even needing to look at the gas bottle. I think my hop rubber is a bit *fruitcage*ed. Is it easy to access?

Look back a few pages, sounds similar to my problems. There is enough info back there to help you take it apart as far as the rubber methinks.

You need to soak the rubber in acetone, for a couple of hours, then let it dry for a day or so, then try again. The rubber has expanded with the addition of lubricant, which can get there all sorts of ways, and is jamming the BBs in the barrel.

Mine was too far gone and the above method didn't work, had to order in another rubber from den. Since I replaced it its probably fired 5-600rds flawlessly.

  3. GBB MP7, wearing OD jacket + trousers, with a camera on his head..sitting on a blue chair in the safe zone.

8 mins of salvageable footage from sunday :( Most of it was briefing + waiting for game on, followed by my shooting someone on some stairs and the camera cutting out (think the battery is *fruitcage*ed), which was the start of a ludicrous amount of kills, on a bottlenecked staircase.

+ I think heroshark should start making airsofting cups :P

  4. I would feel sympathy for your camera, but you DID shoot me in the balls while I was coming to see if you were ok... :P

    After conveniently missing me :P

Sorry about the balls, I got a 5 shot shotgun blast the day before on my man bits, stung like a *badgeress* <_<

My nipples weren't very lucky either. I took a 3rd burst on one, and one on the other from point blank :(

gotta add...most of our side had never been there before, or had only been once ;) We had one total newbie, 3 who had never played CQB. I think myself and one other guy had done 2 games there, thats it :)

There was me + 2 others who have been 4-5 times, then the rest as you say. Couldn't beat going up a team of people who knew nothing of the site, however. Probably why it was so easy to flank, at times.

  5. I was tempted to go ,but I couldn't make it .Any good ? I must say you look lovely dave ,but theres just someting missing

Aye, brit tac is a fantastic site, and this sunday's game was especially good, playing against the AC guys, with fantastic scenario to boot (Columbian drugs Cartel vs. British SF, we had about half "regulars" on our team, the rest were all fairly new). Must say the AC guys put up a hell of a fight. I'll see if I can get any freeze frames from the video camera (which the AC guys all but destroyed) I had on my head. Might even see a shot of me in a mirror, if I'm lucky...

  6. Fantastic performance all round, however...bad news.

After finally getting a sling that fitted the teeny tiny sling loops on the MP7, about 2hrs before the end of the day, I noticed my gun was moving a tad free from the sling:

    DSCN9407.JPG

    Sling loop snapped off!

I tried it on the other side, 30 seconds later:

Going to have to get some RIS Sling mounts now! <_<

  7. Apologies for the delay.

Anyway, it all started with this thread. My post is #14, yea I ordered it after seeing it in the news thread, whatever, it was shiny. I like shiny.

After getting stopped at customs, having to pay the vat charge (about £8) and the Parcel Farce RANSOM fee (£13.50), the grand total was £95 shipped from Redwolf airsoft. Quite an expensive impulse buy, I'll admit - but worth every penny. It's about the same price as a TM Colt Python revolver is in the UK, for reference.

I don't know *suitcase* about revolvers really, but I liked the look of it, and as I said...it was shiny. I used one once (another Marushin, not sure on the particular model, but it was an old 8mm with shells), which was fun enough to shoot, and pretty powerful to boot.

Anyway, first impressions were, it was shiny. Very shiny, in fact, I was very impressed with the finish. After shooting it, however, I was much more impressed with the performance.

I think I'll just quote myself:

    Right, got it today :D

Now, I sort of realised whilst waiting for it that I pretty much only bought it because it was shiny. Thankfully I'm not disappointed.

A few things: Adjustable hop up is present :D

First thing I noticed when opening the package, a little allen key sitting on top of all the paperwork. Quick check, and there is a hole to put it in, very happy kruck.

Using 134a and the included BBs, accuracy was shocking. At 6m, or thereabouts, none were near the point of aim, but in an 5" group to the lower right of the point of aim (still much better accuracy than the shocking Army R45 and R17 I used to have).

I looked at the target and noticed the BBs hadn't actually penetrated the paper. I grabbed the propane, loaded up with .28g bbs, applied a bit more hop up, and got shooting.

    Short story: excellent.

Long Story: BBs all grouped nicely in about 1.5-2" to the lower right of the point of aim.

Loaded up again, 6 more BBs on top of the previous 6. Excellent.

Rear sight is adjustable (sort of), and after adjustments all shots hitting just below the point of aim in a nice grouping.

If you can't be arsed to read that; don't bother with 134a, it's ######. Don't bother with .2g (tested later) or the included BBs, also ######. The hop up is adjustable, with a 1.5mm allen key.

After a bit, I shot myself with it. Since the results are unscientific, as I didn't use a gun I knew the FPS of as a control group, I was too *beep* to shoot myself again, I'll not include them here. Ignoring the fail human chrono, here are the actual chrono results:

0.28g BBs, with propane at 17°C (ish)

    Single action:

    250

    244

    240

    Double action:

    221

    209

    199

This equates to (for single action) around 0.8J, or about 290fps w/ .2g

More than skirmishable then. In freezing weather, I could get 40rds off before the gas is depleted. At room temperature, at least 50, after this the shot power trails off, with the gas completely out after 65 or so.

    Accuracy tests:

Pictures of groupings. (one flier in the last one).

    SA5m.JPG

    DA5m.JPG

    SA10m.JPG

    DA10m.JPG

I've skirmished it twice. The first time, I counted the number of kills with it (9 +1 teamkill :P ), the second time, I couldn't be bothered as I only pulled it out now and then (first skirmish was pistol+shotgun day, second was an open skirmish, so I used other guns more).

Real steal HKS Speedloaders for the '29 work with the shells, and greatly improve the reload speed. I'm still waiting for the spare shells (I bet customs have them, the *fruitcage*ers).

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. I'll post some pictures when my internet stops pissing around with me. Redwolf have a nice set of photos though. If I missed anything, and it isn't in the news thread, just ask.

  8. Anyone know where I can get a replacement hop rubber from? The acetone solution didn't work with mine unfortunately.

Edit: found them at den, however they only do express shipping :(

  9. I was about to install a NPAS valve on my KWA, but i cant open the screw at the rear holding the crossbar, i have put as much pressure on it as i dear (brute force always makes things worse) but it won't budge. Any ideas?

I had the same problem, ended up stripping the screw.

I ended up drilling a little hole at each side, that could be used with a flat head screwdriver.

Still very stiff to move though, but I got it out eventually.

  10. Good news

After opening the box up (I put it in the box, to protect it from me) I noticed that some acetone had got on the MP7s body, and in places wrecked the finish. (that's not the good news).

I was going to sell it, but in the condition it's in, I doubt I'd get a decent amount for it, and the wrecked finish just made that worse.

So I decided, fudge it - gonna have to fix it.

Took it apart, again, got to the pin, and decided I wasn't going to take no for a mother*fruitcage*ing answer. Drilled about 2mm in with a drill bit (the smallest I had) about 1mm wider than the pin, on both sides. I then taped up the entire assembly so when I hammered it, nothing would fall out (like it did before).

Hammer, screwdriver in the newly drilled little hole.

Some very intense hammering later, it moved. About 1mm. kept going, eventually the *fruitcage* came out, I just hope nothing else got damaged in the process!

  11. hmm anyone have any idea to fix the faulty connection for the G&P aimpoint?

Im using on a GBBR, and it seem that the shaking will knock the thing out of connection so even if its on the on position it would turn off. (had to knock it a few times to turn on) sometimes it doesnt turn off but reduce brightness. So far the biggest thing the affect it is the battery cover. Im torquing it to max and it still has this problem...

This happens to me when the battery is running low, fresh batteries sorts it.

  12. I tried hammering it out, pulling it out with pliers, I even tried to drill the locking spring out from the opening (didn't work).

It's now stuck about half an inch out, not budging either way.

I'm leaving it alone now, I'm just going to break something even more, as I said it's going to a professional now. I might even sell it it's pissing me off so much :(

  13. Good news, by judicious application of acetone it now appears to be working.

Just emptied a couple of mags in full auto, and a couple of mags in single, no misfeeds all working well. :)

Once I get some cheaper BBs to test with (I'm burning through these .28g, I have only 3000 left :(), I'll dump a bunch of mags through it to verify.
