  1. If I get the time ill post done pics to give you a clue but I'm buggered if I'm stripping it down again
  2. Our site tech ordered two of these one for me and one for himself. First the good. These things are solid and look great. The function switch is positive and the remote is good quality. Lasers once focused are ok and visible illuminatior is bloody bright. Now the bad. The lasers don't point anywhere near each other and both needed focused. The adjusters are easy to over adjust and break. The mount needed some of the retaining arm/cam ground off to stop it chewing up the rail and can be loose on some rails. The IR illuminatior is just a filter for a standard high intensity visible led torch. The lasers we sorted last night by dismantaling the unit and removing the visible laser from its housing. This was then reamed out to 7.5mm for almost the entire length and 2 adjusting screws were fitted. The laser was then refitted into the block and the wires solidered to the control board. Once powered the lasers were then adjusted until parralel with each other then the entire unit was reassembled. This process took over 3 hours to complete. Overall once the lasers had been trued up and the adjuster sorted it a good bit of kit. The issues and fixes we came up with we will be sending to element so they can hopefully sort it at the factory. I'll do a full review of the modified unit soon.

Go for the army armament version a fraction of the price and almost as good
  4. I was going to do quite a comprehensive review with comparisons against some gen 1 & 2 stuff and a hand held digital monocular but there's no point. These are not even gen 0. Your mark 1 eyeball is better. The main problem is the narrow field of view. The supplied literature claims 6deg field of view but I don't thing it's that much. Now with such a narrow field of view it can't gather enough light to function well. The unit has about 2x mag making it unusable on a helmet mount for navigating. claimed battery life of 1.5-2.5 hours depending if you use illumination or not but I've found it to be less than an hour. AABB could have made an excellent replica but by attempting to make it look real it's limited the focal array to a narrow field of view effectively crippling the device. The supplied mounts are pish poor too it's just epic fail.

I've used these rods before on motorbike frames http://www.durafix.co.uk/ It's an alloy braising rod and works very very well with aluminium.

I'm running a front wired army clone with an AB MOSFET. Had no problems apart from the wiring sometimes gets in the way of the bolt stop.
