I think I'm just going to cut my losses and sell the mags but scrap the gun. It's no good to anyone to be honest.
-
I'd say less than 2000.
-
Well, mine has bitten the dust.
Where the roller bearing sits on the hammer has worn away. This means that the roller bearing doesn't remain straight when the slide recoils back, so I get the slide stuck expelling all of the gas from the mag unless I quickly remove the magazine. Also the cocking indicator has come out of place and got stuck so the slide is completely jammed now.
So I've had the gun for less than a year and it's not seen a great deal of use and these are the following issues:
Worn hammer so the bearing moves and jams the slide.
Broken Disassembly lever.
Broken hop unit.
Magazines have a tendency to leak from the release valves.
Screw from the blowback unit comes loose and causes the slide to jam when firing.
Cocking indicator comes out of place and jams the slide.
Overall I'm happy that WE have improved certain things (like the guns actually working!), however the durability of their new stuff is still just bad! Back to TM for me!

If I got a reply, I'd be happy. I was expecting a back log, but to get an acknowledgment would be nice. I also tried ordering a few days before the Chinese new year and I got nothing about the parts being out of stock then either.
-
Well, the good experiences are suddenly going away. They emailed me back after the Chinese New Year saying a part is out of stock. So I email them back with what I want to do and it's now been 3 days since I got a reply. Not bad considering I also stated I wanted to try and get things sorted ASAP for a game that is coming up. No chance of it turning up now!

I just made an order from WGC last night for a G&P M14 DMR. I've had nothing but good experiences with them before.
-
It's a shame really, I was really looking into getting one of these. My money is now going elsewhere.

I think that with the new hop it should hopefully give it a new lease on life. I have a couple of friends who's G&P WOC rifles have the inner barrels cut down to just above MP9 size and they are tack drivers. Once the MP9 gets the TM style hop, it should make it much more accurate for longer range engagements. Seems as I've spent a fair amount on my MP9 (as I'm sure everyone has!) I'm wanting to get as much use out of it as I can.
Once the weather warms up a bit more, I'll be using it in woodland games and I'm sure it'll perform fine.

Nice review, a couple of questions.
Do you know if the blow back can be disabled?
How stiff is the magazine release? I know the Ares one suffered from having a weak spring so mags had a chance to drop out.
Cheers.

A few of my friends have them and swear by them. Knowing my friend Chris, his Glock will see a lot of use.
I think the XDM has got a lot of life left it in, I'm just hoping more bits don't fall off it!
-
It still works as if the hop isn't broken lol. It's unfortunate that they made those parts out of crappy materials, but regardless it still works... providing it's warm enough! I've got some Guarder power up gas on order to see how well it copes with winter temps, that was the major downfall (until now) for the XDM IMO.

So with the hop unit breaking, my disassembly level also broke. The front of it snapped off so now to disassemble my pistol I have to use a pair of pliers to rotate the lever.
I think it's time to weather it, cover the grip in tape similar to this...
Might as well make it look like it's meant to be broken.

From Volante (I might have spelled his name wrong). I went to their website and inquired about it. If you do go with the MP7 hop, let me know how it goes please!
-
Well, the little peg on the hop unit that sits in the recess of the outer barrel has snapped off on mine. Fortunately places do replacement hop units, but that is pretty *suitcase*.
-
It's perfect for enclosed spaces like The Mall, but lacks the output needed for woodland I find. Other than that, mine's holding up fine.
-
Good news everyone!
Thanks for your idea.
We're currently making new hop kit for USP45 match and MK23 pistol.
MP9 will be our project after that.
Regard,
Kim.
New style hop unit is coming to the MP9!

There might be some change from £1k on the setup and having some prototypes made (Although I wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't), looking at the design of them I suspect it'd be a faff to actually make them and far more hassle than it's worth, I'd guess you'd be looking at about £100 per disconnector if no more were made after the setup run.
Ouch!
I'm yet to receive my spare disconnectors from WGC so I've not got to the place yet. I'll at least see what they say on getting one made.
I'm just trying to think what makes them break in my gun, every time I've stripped it for cleaning I've made sure everything is done properly and put back in correctly. Maybe I just have bad luck. I don't know.
-
A broken disconnector is fairly common...
Indeed, I've gone through two now, one only lasted a day! I'm still trying to find a place that will reply to my emails about getting one custom made from steel.

And random photoshoot during mission breefing cus they take so long featuring Fireknife and Amateurstuntman.

Uninteresting photo bomb by me there. I knew I should have done something!
-
OK, the Action dis connecter gave up and made my MP9 vent all of it's gas! Time to see about getting a steel one custom made!
-
I've noticed that the one I fitted to my XDM is quite like that, it takes a few "warm up shots" before you get any hop at all!
-
I really didn't think about washing BB's! Which thinking about it would be a great idea seems as when I took my KWA bucking out of my MP9 it had quite a but of residue on the "bump". Time to start washing or change BB brand methinks!
-
I just got one of these to replace my XDM's hop rubber. I also polished the inner barrel (the finish on the WE barrel was just shocking!) and added this to the gun, I can visually tell the BB is moving faster, however seems as I can only see up to about 25 - 30 meters in the dark I can't be positive of the accuracy or range. It does 'seem' to be more accurate, but I can't really tell for certain. I'll do some more range testing on Saturday where I can use the full length of my garden.

I do own a TM Glock you realise?
The slide is so jammed onto the frame it's going to be messy getting it off.
