  1. The Danner boots are not currently orderable, I think they were available from them lask week. I was trying to justify the cost to myself, but was going to go through a UK distributor. It would make sense for that specific product to be put on hold given the nature of the claims.

  2. First, Dr Who is only wildly popular in the UK. Outside of the UK it's virtually unknown. It's certainly not on par with Star Trek or Star Wars or either version of Battlestar Galactica. None of which included the creation or destruction of matter.

Second, Dr Who isn't a serious science-fiction show. It's supposed to be silly, hence the bad/tacky/hilarious costumes.

Sledge criticize something he's never seen before? Well, I guess it's possible. Kinda like how milk may or may not come from cows.

Right. So you're going to take mass and put it into an alternate universe. Here's a question: When you go to get it back, how will you know it's yours and not the property of some other you in another alternate universe? What if that other you has an infectious disease that he's immune to but nothing in your universe is immune to?

And the transporter was invented because it would have been to expensive to have shuttles go down to a planet's surface for every away mission. In any case, there's more fact than theory behind the transporter than behind putting something in cold storage in an alternate universe.

So Star Trek invented the transporter because of a budget constraint but Dr Who isn't "proper" science fiction because because it cut costs on costume & set construction. Okay.

Milk may or may not come from cows. Have you ever milked a cow? How do you know for sure the milk you drink isn't Dog milk? Alternatively milk may come from Cowes and be delivered by hovercraft, which is entirely possible & even probable.

If you take mass & put it in another universe you must get a receipt! How obvious is that. Would you buy an AEG from HongKong & not want parcel tracking. This is a fundamental law of physics.

On topic: Yeah I will go and see Tranformers but purely as a Robots stamping on peoples heads kind of day out. I don't associate it with old franchise.

  3. I tend to have the same approach as Basho and skip stuff I don't find relevent or feel I don't have useful input. Of course my opinion of my own knowledge is highly inflated. :P

I kind of always assumed that a lot of users checked the view new posts option regularly.

Browningman I don't have much confidence that a flashing neon logo fifteen metres high would encourage some people to use the search tool so....... ;)

  4. I have to agree about ICE's customer service, it took me five months to get my stuff (BDU/pouches/chestrig/jacket) from them. I tried pursuing them through paypal & by e-mail/phone. I had to demand a refund & had repeatedly instructed them to cancel the order. I was given a different excuse & delivery date on several occasions. The threat of legal action got a response the next day despite them not replying to my previous two or three emails.

The kit is okay but considering the delay & hassle I would not use them again because the customer service stinks. They would be better being honest about construction & delivery times from day one instead of keeping people spinning. ICE do not have a very good reputation on Airsoft Canada's boards because of this & I found half a dozen customers who'd received the same treatment.

    Regards, TWK.

  5. Hmmmm kinda

    tyler2.jpg

    Oh nossssssssss. :)

Sonny what's the side arm? Doesn't look like a Desert Eagle to me.

I sold off my NBB MK23 to Jimmypie, he uses it quite effectively to snipe. I found it a bit unwieldly. Gone for a USP Tactical now, just waiting for a threaded barrel.

  6. Regarding ICE I placed an order early in the year, I wasn't to worried about the delivery time. I was initailly quoted at about four weeks. After a couple of months I sent of some e-mails that were not replied to & then started looking around on other forums such as the Canadian Airsoft Community and AR15.com, both of these have several posts about ICE.

A few people's posts said ICE were great (the gear certainly is) and had got there orders okay but when I checked with them it usually turned out they had bought indiviual items such as the molle belt & not sets of BDU's or complete webbing.

I got hold of Hobey directly a couple weeks ago (he is a member of Airsoft Canada) and told him I wanted to cancel & get a refund at which point I received some feedback and a promise of the BDU's being send the next week (yet to appear). They still didn't have a date for the rest of the order due to them having a huge backlog.

If I don't get the kit by the end of the month I'll go somewhere else and report the level of service to paypal & on every forum I can find. If you have paid for the goods & clearly have not received the order within a "reasonable" time frame then they are stealing your money, I have no problem taking it to court if needs be.

I wouldn't tolerate this sort of behavior in business & I'm getting near the end of my patients. :( Don't talk to me about reccegear.........:P

  7. i was wondering what brand multicam are you guys using?

There is only ONE brand of MultiCam: Crye. This includes Crye Field/Combat pants/shirt, ICE Tactical shirt/pants & SKD Tac shirt/pants. The rest that is below 140bucks per set is MultiScam.

And yes, Crye is paying me. :P

    Cheers,

    Mike

    :cookiemonster:

I have bdu's from SKD, Seals Action Gear, Crye (field version) & Hong Kong rip off inc. I've got an order with ICE but their customer service is *beep* & I'm going to cancel it.

The HK stuff was >£40. The velcro patches needed a hot knife to tidy up the loose edging. The materiel is pretty good & still looks good after a few washes, they are cut on the lines of the US ACU which I happen to prefer. Excellent value, I thought they'd be almost a disposable item but I was very pleased with them. :) Consider the sizing carefully though.

Crye Field shirt & pants. Rather expensive when you consider what you actually get. Paying for the name really, but it's the original gear I guess.

SKD bdu's are great, again not cheap but well up there. Probably better made than some of the early Crye production runs. If you're intent on spending the money I'd go for these ones. Official MC fabric so as "real" as the CP stuff if that bothers you.

Seals Action Gear BDU's. Similar to the SKD ones (and you can get a smock!). More of a standard BDU pattern with shoulder pockets & mandarin collar. The do the job, last well. Official MC fabric so as "real" as the CP stuff if that bothers you.

ICE. Considering that I've had some on order for several months & have been told a variety of dates for shipping and the lack of response to emails I would have to recommend avoiding this company unless they are near to you & you can visit them. Disappointing. :(

  8. Looks like tri-color Bijan's, but maybe someone else makes a similar design.

That's me posing in that pic. They are tri-colour Bijans. I have CB ones as well but I think the black molded caps standout a bit so I was trying out the tri-colour to see how they went. Looks okay in the pic, just got to try then in a skirmish. :)

  9. Dude thats sweet, now if the MARPAT had the Mandarin collar

True. MC's still better though. :D

I got an email from them the other day that they would have the combat pants in august. But then again they told me in May that they would have them in june. I wouldn't hold your breath :D In the meantime i've just gotten some ICE bdu's. Pics will be up later.

How long did ICE take to get them through? I had to wait 3-4 months for the BDU's & still haven't got the Soft shell jacket or chest rig.

  10. Hey waco kid where did you order your multicam gear from? Im trying to get some here in the UK but i also want the Molle gear as well along with my old with my vein search for some where that sell a woodland Molle vest with pouches.

    Grim

It's mostly from outside the UK.

I did get some stuff a while back from Airsoft Supplier & I know that Jimmypie has dealt with On Patrol and their kit seems to be up to scratch.

In the US/Canada I've bought from:

    Op Tactical

    SKD

    Emdom

    Seal Action Gear

    Tactical Tailor

    Eagle

& several ebay sellers quite successfully.

I also have items on route from:

    Recce Gear

    ICE

however both these companies suffer from customer care issues & slow production rate so I wouldn't suggest using them for the time being.

I don't see much of an advantage in buying MC MOLLE vests that have PALS webbing covering almost 50% of the surface area.

Then your entire vest is going to be covered with pouches (well maybe empty in the back).

Unless all the gear makers start doing what EssTac has done, by replacing PALS webbing with folded cordura, i don't see a clear advantage in buying MC MOLLE vests.

The I.C.E kit has MC pals but to be honest I've not noticed the colour of the webbing to be much of an issue in the field, MC tends to blend itself quite happily.

Most of the rigs I base my loadout on are plain Tan they work very nicely, I've always fancied an MC vest carrier though.

*Jimmypie I'll have to order another Eagle LE vest now. Shame. :D

  11. lol I would have just gotten the CIRAS, i'm not going to invest in an airsoft pat plate carrier, for the money I'm not down in investing that much in Multicam. BDUs yes, gear...no.

Sadly enough I've just ordered an Eagle LE vest in Multicam to replace my Khaki Ciras-M. :D Not that the MC BCS vest & TT MAV weren't up to scratch you understand. I'm also getting some desert bijan pads to replace the CB set cos' the black plastic just doesn't look cool worn with MC.

Sorry for the lack of head gear & gloves but this was the tea break and a damn hot day (two weeks ago). We just decided to get a quick team picture.

  12. My new MICH was seized by customs :( But nice helmets guys.

    Again, did they say why?

    Robbyc,

If you want an a BHD M4 sniper look then you need to get a half cut Protec skate helmet. Have a look here, it is under Classic Skate http://www.pro-tec.net/skate.html

If your looking to get that style of helmet in the UK then you can probably forget it. I looked high and low in every skate and cycle shop and eventually had to order from WGC where they do the exact genuine article.

I'd suggest trying a Kayaking supplier for that helmet. I was very popular for whitewater fans.

  13. I actually wanted a full lenth RIS rather than midlength as everyman and his dog has one, I also wanted a solid mount for my M203.

It attaches the same as any other M4/M16 sight, but the actual barrel is fluted, very beutiful peice of  kit, just a same it's hidden under the RIS.

Yeah, lovely stuff. I'm going up the walls waiting to get my hands on the VFC version (due summer?). I don't suppose you deal with gb-tech/VFC do you? :D

  14. What's the vest the 3 other guys are wearing?  Do you guys actually skirmish in those?  Doesn't look like any of you have pouches for spare mags.  The sniper shouldnt need much, but I'd think you other guys would.

Yeah, BCS multicam carriers. Very comfy kit.

To anyone thinking of getting a Weesatch etc, may I suggest looking at SOtechs Callahan vest (either version) as this will work in a similar way and convert to straight chest rig, plate carrier or combined rig.

  15. Vid of the action was a nice touch.

Hope they come out with spare cocking handle so I can mod alter the LSW to A2 version.

Anyway, all the *fruitcage* posts about SLR's that turn out to be AK clones have cheesed me off. :P
