Quick question.
I have a DD 7" lite rail and a Laylax CQB barrel on my socom, and Ive tried washers, rubber spacers, cardboard, etc and I still have barrel wobble. anyone know how or why this may be? Im starting to think it has to do with the barrel nut, would purchasing a laylax hard barrel nut solve this?
-
Why is that? Fitment issues?
-
Does the g36c/k take normal ver. 3 gearbox parts? I haven't seen anything listed for it specifically so I'm assuming yes?

Yes, operates exactly like the sopmod crane stock. Marui sells the stock separately in black and in tan.
-
You could use the Marui VLTOR stock, as seen on mine ^. other than that, you have to use the crane stock.
-
never posted a pic of my socom, how rude of me.

Airsoft Extreme has them on sale for $75, or $95 with 2 spare mags. But its only in-store, website says sold out..
-
Due to the battery and accessories options? Or performance?
To my understanding all of the m4 ebbs are exactly the same internals wise, with the only exeption being 3.5" of inner barrel length (SOPMOD/SOCOM vs. CQB-R).
Because of the battery wiring. I didn't want to deal with my cqbr and its battery options nor did I want to rewire it.
-
likewise, sold off my cqbr because the socom beats it by a long shot.

I know -__- I'm old school, I like to keep it simple. 9.6 mini gives me my ideal rof and are cheap and easy to charge. Call me lazy but I'm still not convinced on this lipo shenanigin
-
The batteries do wear out over time, but the good thing is, is that you can replace the cells with new ones and perhaps better ones to your liking.
-
That's a huge bummer, I don't use lipo...
-
Does a 9.6 mini fit in the scar? What's the max capacity?
-
$79 here in the U.S., but its usually $68 overseas.

I've been looking for a nice M910A replica since the Chinese started cloning them. I bought one that was actually not too bad, but the materials could have been better. That where Element stepped in. I purchased this from weaponblender.com, after trying to track one down on other websites.
Packaging:
The Weapon light comes in a nice box, until you open it only to reveal poor packaging. Im not sure if they all come without some sort of foam insert but mine did not come with any.
The shell of the light is made of some really good materials. Reminds me of the polymer used in Pmags.
One thing that's always bothered me about element (or all ACM companies in general) is that a lot of their metal parts come either rusted or paint is already worn on the edges. My rail screws came rusted and my bezel came worn.
A few things that are different about the element's replica is that its an LED version rather than incandescent. Also, this version comes with full trades which is a huge plus (element also makes a version without trades). BUT the color of the battery latch and the bezel are not the correct coloring to the real one. Also, the finish and materials are also not close to the real thing, but still nice none the less. Another nice touch was the rubber covers that cover the navigational lights, no other replica has them.
Here is it mounted to my TM CQB-R
Its a bright light, about 200 lumen. Nothing you haven't seen before in your typical tactical LED light.
Pros:
-The best replica (quality) on the market.
-LED.
-Inexpensive.
-Surefire Trademarks.
Cons:
-Not a perfect replica of the real counterpart.
-Quality of the metal is not the best.
Pro? Con?:
-Pressure switches are not like anything I've seen before, so time will show how they hold up.
Feel free to comment with any questions!

I would have to disagree Berserk. I handled the same gun today and it seemed more solid and better than any Marui Sopmod I've ever handled. The finish on the gun is more akin to my real guns than a Sopmod's. The materials used appears to be made out of a better quality metal too rather than the softer Sopmod metals that have led to the occasional cracked receivers and worn threads. KWA mentioned that the gun would accept standard Marui mags as is without the need for an adapter (though bolt stop function wouldn't work with regular style V2 mags). It was configured in a regular M4 configuration, which isn't my personal preference, but I personally saw it as having a lot of potential for configurations that would interest me.
The texture on the gun felt like a rubberized coating thought, I dont know man It just didnt feel right. The magazines felt flimsey and light. I literally felt like I could stomp on them. and from what Ive seen, the magazines and chamber placement in the gun are not in the same location so Im very confused as to how the Sopmod Mags would fit in the KWA. We'll have to wait and see how this gun holds up. Like I said, I stand by Marui and Im probably not the best person to be giving insight on a similar market product, so please dont take my comments offensively lol. I havent been impressed with the metal kwa uses on their guns. Glock series to be exact. Im not totally trying to turn this gun down, because KWA does make good reliable products with great customer service. The main thing im hoping to come out of this is hopefully, HOPEFULLY we can start convincing more people to shift over to using mid caps/ low caps, Since these guns will be readily available everywhere in the U.S.

Today I had the chance to fire a KWA recoil series M4. I dont know what KWA is calling it, but Thats the name im giving it for this post. I figured everyone here would be interested in knowing how similar it is to the Marui. Here's the break down.
The two systems are not compatible what so ever. Magazines are different and so are the internals. The gun felt ok, the externals are a little weird, they are nice but I dont get the realistic feeling from it. Reminds me of a finish that you would see on a high end cell phone lol. The magazines feel crappy and cheap. The bolt lock feature doesnt feel solid either. Everything about this gun just doesnt feel right. Now, the recoil is a little stronger, but I dont know what battery was in the gun. When using a 9.6 vs a 8.4 in my maruis, the 9.6 feels like its kicking harder. So its possible that it doesnt kick harder, couldve been just the battery. Within a few hours, the gun kicked itself out of the correct motor height. Making the gun extremely whiney after a few hours of people dry firing it here and there. KWA stated that the base price may be just under $400. So it may be a good gun to start off with if you want to get into the recoil generation, but in my opinion if your going to do it, do it right and start off with a marui. Im not convinced and Id rather shell out an extra $150 to get Marui reliability, as I keep my guns stock. But hey, some people stand and swear by KWA so who knows how this gun will turn out. I stand by Marui, so I may not be the best person to review a wanna-be platform so take my mini review with as a grain of salt.

so...its not a madbull rail?
-
Its a madbull rail? I was under the impression that marui obtained the licensing through madbull and made the rail themselves. If im not mistaken, the Recce rail is in a length that isnt made by madbull. isnt it a 10 inch? I could be wrong though
On another note, has anyone had issues with using a BAD lever on their sopmods? I installed one on my socom, and the bolt lock feature wont function. Without it, works fine
-
...element motor, better than an eg1000?
Blasphemy.
-
have you tried firing the gun? My cqbr bolt catch won't enable just by touching it unless its being fired. And my socom does the opposite. Either way both function exactly the same. So fire the gun and see if it works
-
Does anyone know if its possible to mount a UBR on a socom? I figured it somehow possible if you buy a real steel one, but im not sure. If anyone can verify, that would be awesome
