Make sure it says V2 otherwise you will have to dremmel about 1mm to 2mm of it to make it fit in the gearbox! Took me an hr to do that tonight... -

Akira Have you noticed an improvement with the gun by installing these pomy gears? My Marui stock gears seem fine (for the moment), so i'm wondering if it's worth upgrading them or not? -

I really gotta do something with my SOCOM! It's simply boring! The standard Marui hand grips are cack (to coin an expression).... so to make it a CQB type weapon what rail do ya guys recommend? -

Ok, i'll stick it in and see what happens.. I just got concerned coz when one does an internet search you get different photos coming up... some have those 2 ports on the side, other don't... it's all confusing... -

Folks I've just received my prommy cylinder and am thinking i've been given the wrong one. The one I have is labelled Prometheus Stainless Hard Cylinder for a Marui AEG Type A 451mm to 550mm. However on the packaging it says Version VII which is Version 7. Is this the correct cylinder for the sopmod or the EBB gearbox? Also there are no ports on the sides of the cylinder but it is ribbed. -

I've never used/handled a Magpul MIAD grip so am looking forward to it. I think they come in a kit don't they with different fronts and rears? -

I've lost count too how many times i've opened the gearbox.... lol I have manged to bugger up the smaller screw hole in the marui stock grip though (utter garbage plastic) so i'll be needing to order a magpul miad grip with a metal base at some point... -

Akira, what I did was to file down the buffer tube where the wires run along, now my wires do not get caught when I take the buffer tube on/off... Let's face it, the original SOPMOD design for the running of the wires really does leave a lot to be desired... -
Come to think of it, It seems as if the CQB barrels have been redesigned slightly so that they only need a few clicks to lock in... this now makes sense as I know earlier models suffered from barrel wobble (page 41'ish of this thread) and spacers were supplied to lock the barrel in with less clicks... (just a hunch)...
-
Hi Kossack I've just ordered 2 slim lipos similar to your main battery dimensions (so good news there) and they only cost me £23.50 delivered I'm more concerned about the fitting of my CQB barrel... it's very tight on 3 clicks as shown in my piccy above... Can anyone who has a CQB barrel comment please... ta

Battery is an Eagle6 SOPMOD one so loads of power.... Gears are stock on the SOPMOD and the bevel gear is always put in at the 1'oclock position Do have the SOCOM (and its stock)... dare not open the gearbox on it lol... mind you, I haven't looked into it's magwell (i'll do that later just to compare the resting position of the nozzle).... If i'm being honest, the power is fine on the sopmod but it's just the variation in fps that's doing my nut in.... like i said, i'm still waiting on the prommy cylinder and 2 more replacement gears from Richard (another M100 and a M110)... Shame pommy do -

Feeds superbly, no problems there whatsoever...... i'm still waiting on a new pommy cylinder though, so once that's here, i'll at least knock out any potential incompatability between parts... then re-chrono... -

Maybe it's due to my pommy nozzle? Perhaps it's slightly longer than the Marui one?
