  1. Looks great to me! I'm planning a very similar project but on a standard Marui 17. Is a normal 1911 inner barrel a good fit for the G34 length outer?

It indeed is, as a matter of fact I'm running a standard marui 1911 inner on my 34 atm (waiting for more funds for a nineball 6.03 one).

  2. KENXIN You do know your grip safty is not working and that slide action does not seem as smooth as it should be.

Perhaps the slide doesn't seem as smooth as it should in the video but it is as smooth as it can be (any ideas on how to show that on video?).

Also, yeah, I was showing how I pinned the safety ; ) that means it's locked in place on purpose.

  3. It is a we, just a trademarked one (what would be the point of WE telling everyone they're getting replacement slides on a thread that's not about a WE?).

The wear is not from the recoil spring, the recoil spring compresses on the hole for the recoil rod, not outside (unless it's horribly bent), the wear we see in the pictures comes from the slide impacting against the frame:

    P1050463.JPG

Either a stronger recoil spring is needed or a buffer or both.

  4. Apparently the slides do take up a beating on the front from normal use:

    P1050461.JPG

The thread on arms-cool has gotten kind of big, and there is even an official WE response in there:

    http://www.arms-cool.net/forum/viewthread.php?tid=121179&page=7#pid1438182

According to google translation (and therefore open to being completely wrong):

"Grateful to all levels of players criticism and advice, thank WE company.

About this problem, although for the present, should belong to the cases, but WE, or the spirit of service consumers proposed new scheme of service of the product.

Purchase F228 players try to operate (not limited to any pressure of the gas, but shall the legitimate out speed regulations limit), Enjoy.

Under these conditions damage the F228, the Company free of charge free replacement service.

One hand, expectations can really identify trouble spots, as well as the occurrence of the causes and ratios, in order to improve the problem.

In addition to expect under these conditions, that the Company's products stand the test.

Can take the opportunity in the F229 and the times of new works (TT-33, and the mysterious product ) Launched at the same time, the "optimization" of products introduced to consumers.

Also on the situation in this edition discussion string, WE would like to see benign and rational discussion, do not use heated remarks come against each other, non-WE company as well as a toy gun community would like to see.

Thanks again for all levels of players on the a WE company's criticism, advice and love. Thank you"

Interesting, free replacement slides for anyone experiencing this... nice.

  5. Interesting review of the national match.

Right off the bat I can tell you what was wrong with the BBU of your hurricane, the screw of the sight was screwed too much and made a little contact with the nozzle, thus making it stick. This is a problem with the gunsmith or user, or you can blame the design of the sight/kit, whichever pleases you most.

The level of quality of a kit is hard to decide once it's been installed because it represents the skill of the person who fitted it, so your perception of quality on that issue is limited. The hurricane kit is (as it comes) tight and nicely built (even if the steel parts have serious rust issues).

About the efficiency of the thing, it's hard to determine, the number of shots can be affected by the weight of the slide and the stuff in it (having so much steel on the slide on the hurricane cripples gas efficiency, for example), also by the alloy of the slide itself .

If you want, we can test that if you can determine the weight of the slide minus the barrel, recoil guide and inner barrel+ hopup, I'll try to post the weight of mine with those out see which one is heavier (that might explain the gas efficiency issue).

Another thing is the magazine, without testing the same magazines it's hard to get consistent data on gas efficiency, specially with the clones using different valves and making minor modifications to the design.

Now onto the army national match, in the first picture looks like the BBU bit is recessed, any ideas about what happened there?

    Firingpin.jpg

Anyways, the detail they've put into replicating the model is very nice, I have serious doubts about the durability of the chinese clones but I'm open to being proven wrong any day.

All the correct trademarks and externals are indeed very nice.

Also VERY nice is army filling up the goddamn left slide rail which is cut out on the marui (noteworthy is that hurricane also provides a part that fills it, nice of them):

    photo33.jpg

Anyways, looking forward to follow-ups on this piece, do have fun.

Also, I have my TEII with me so if you want any pictures to compare or complement the article, just ask.

  6. By all means, post more pictures!

On a related note, the PGC factory and AS/PROG4 factory are definitely not the same. The fitting should be indeed great, the full-size slide rails should allow very little play (as do AS/prog4/prohandgun hi capa frames and slides).

The very helpful thing would be to check the machining marks on the inside of the slide between a pgc 226 kit and the AS one, if they match we'd be looking at a rebranded pgc kit with custom engraving ( I doubt it but you never know...).

Oh and if possible, do a shooting video with it!

  7. The hk3px4 upper is nice, do remember that it's components are not 100% marui compatible thou.

The finish holds up well, there is a small part of the slide that breaks after a LOT of shooting (I have one of the first ones, I'm unsure wether they fixed that or not) but that doesn't affect function at all. The chamber on the outer barrel does deform after a good while but never impeding function.

For the price, it's quite nice to have (my 3px4 upper was one of the first ones and it's still holding up nicely a year and a few months after).

I seem to remember the decocker making odd things sometimes (like being unable to cock the hammer afterwards even if the decocker was disengaged, but that didn't last more than one shot, afterwards it was fine again). That was due to the decocker being slightly oversized and could be fixed by putting the marui decocker on the 3px4 upper.

  8. Shooters design has good quality finish, correct trades but there are a few kinks.

First and most serious is the decocker, the BBU is placed a little off from where it should be, so the decocker doesn't work (it still works as a safety thou) unless the slide is pushed slightly down and backwards (hard to explan, will make a video if necessary), then the hammer drops.

The second issue is that the slide stop/release slots (there are two of them, one outside and one inside of the slide) are missaligned (the inner one being considerably further back in the slide) thus the outer one supports all the weight of the slide and recoil spring once the slide stop is engaged.

In my particular slide, that has caused some deformation of the slot, nothing dramatic or that affects functioning but it's unsighty.

The last issue (and this is a minor one) is that the fitting of the slide is a little bit loose from the frame , it can wiggle arround a little.

Otherwise the slide is good in terms of quality and finish.

If necessary I'll try to post pictures or a video of those issues.

On an aside note, there is apparently a steel slide going arround......I'm waiting for it to pop up and get it if the price is right. : http://playgun.us/viewthread.php?tid=1286&extra=page%3D1

  9. A little update on the kit already fitted and working just fine.

As the video description states, it's about a 3/4 fill mag at room temperature (and an older mag, I'd have been better if I had used the newer mags that I have, oh well, another time).

Also, the provided spring is definitely about 200% compared to the 150% of the PGC kits that I have.

Boomarms so far hasn't responded, I'll try TS next, thanks for the suggestion!

  10. As far as I can remember the real-steel Kimber Warrior / Desert Warrior and Kimber SIS pistols use the grip-safety with the wavey-grooves, otherwise they use the normal Kimber grip-safety, this includes the Tactical Entry II.

    Cheers.

    Correct, normal kimber grip-safety.

    Kimber%20Tactical%20Entry%20II.jpg

Next month I'll get a nova grip-safety and kimber-type ambi safety (If I can find them and afford them).

Pics of the finished kit are UP on the 1911 picture thread : D

Also I contacted boomarms to see if they can do something about the rusty parts.

  11. Well, fricking, done to WE then <_<

Seriously how can they clone a gun and then not make the mags from the original work and really improve nothing?

    'FireKnife'

I believe it's like that because WE made the nozzle bigger so it would have stronger blowback (or at least I remember something like that from a blog of a WE worker)......

Also Chas, you said that the upper part of the chamber is polished, that is odd to say the least...Also you mention that the finish is good, yet in the first picture you can clearly some holster wear (or at least I assume it's holster wear and not random scratches), has the finish worn off anywhere else?

Also there were some reports about the valve knocker damaging the frame on WE p226s on chinese forums, mind keeping an eye on that and reporting please?

  12. Damn, I'm not a fan of the SA operator but that is sexy.

Should've gone with the nova adjustable rear thou (IMO).

Anyways, my hurricane tactical entry II / marui nightwarrior ([selfpromote]review of the kit on the accesory review forum![/selfpromote]) plus my SA custom : )

  13. Well, today my Hurricane kimber tactical entry II kit arrived I figured I'd do something constructive and actually review it a little before assembling it so anyone can take a look at it and decide if it's worth the money.

I'll TRY to be as objective as possible, feel free to point anything out or ask anything.

    The kit comes with:

    dscn1476e.jpg

    -Aluminim slide and frame

-Aluminum separate extractor (the round piece on the rear of the slide)

    -Plastic wood imitation grips

    -Steel slide catch

    -Steel mag release

    -Steel magwell

    -Aluminum trigger

    -150% recoil spring

-Stainless steel outer barrel (two piece)

-Steel night sights (not tritium, just glow sights)

-Aluminum slide rail for marui 1911s (like the ASone: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/airsoft-surgeon-cnc-reinforced-slide-guide-for-marui-m1911-meu.html )

Well, first things first, you get what you pay for, it's a LOT of things for a relatively low price (200$ at time of writing from airsoft global or boomarms).

    dscn1484s.jpg

    dscn1485q.jpg

The slide catch , magwell and mag release showed rust when they arrived (the slide catch has an appreciable stain of rust, the magwell has the screw holes full of rust and the mag release has small spots with rust all over).

    dscn1483u.jpg

    dscn1480n.jpgdscn1477e.jpg

    dscn1482qn.jpg

The finish on the slide has imperfections, on the rear of the slide (thou those are partially from some sort of adhesive) and on the underside of the front of the slide (slight scratches and imperfections).

The fitting is, for the most part drop-in, however I had to sand down the frame rails so the slide would...well, slide smoothly AND the damn barrel-lock lugs are giving me a royal kick in the *albartroth* but that goes with most 1911 kits, unfortunately.

Overall an easy kit to install, a medium kit to fit (frame rails plus barrel lugs, yuck). You could probably bypass all the barrel lug sanding if you used a quality outer barrel say... a shooters design outer for example.

I won't be using the magwell due to it's design and rust (the rust part goes for the slide catch as well).

On the other hand, the night sights are quite functional and fun!

    dscn1487j.jpg

As always, sorry for the quality of the pictures my camera sucks.

Also, remember, as with all kits, your mileage can vary.

  14. Time to bring this topic back from the dead:

    dscn1424z.jpg

    dscn1426n.jpg

    dscn1427me.jpg

KWA cz75 with ra-tech steel outer.

The finish on the slide was re-done from scratch by me with birchwood aluminum black to give it a more RS look, should've been completely black (works perfect with most of my kits) but with the kwa metal it does some weird things (like turning brown-ish in some places)...oh well.

    Not a prime'd 75 but it's what I have...

  15. It's a good diagnosis, if it's not the mag it may be a problem with the nozzle.

Now thinking about it, if the BBU is undersized the tolerances might be screwed in all the components of the bbu. Did you notice if the nozzle slides freely or has trouble moving?

Also, if the problem is indeed gas related, did you notice by any chance if the blowback is weak?
