If it does come with a manual and the manual has an exploded diagram, would it be possible for you to take a picture of it and/or scan it please?
-
I need one of these, pronto. So far no other retailer other than Airsoft Gi has stocked them that I could find....
Forgot to ask, is the front sight moulded in or are the two pins removeable? Also a bit far fetched but does it look possible to switch the front with RS sights?
-
Agreed, needs more bling for appropiate compensation. Make it so.

Try the nineball or gunsmodify ones.

Doable? Yes. BUT not without some SERIOUS work on redesigning both a new slide and a new BBU.
See the problem with current availiable slides is.. there is not enough material to secure an RMR in there, the slide would have to be designed anew. Plus there aren't any tall sights availiable on the market.
A while ago I toyed with the idea of securing the RMR directly to a custom BBU, and machining the slide to accomodate that.
On the current designs, even if you opened up the slide to accomodate the RMR, the space for the sights would be gone (since those also use the BBU for secure placement).
The best bet would be a custom BBU with a dovetail for RS sights (or for sighs in general) with a place to screw the RMR into. That way the RMR would fit snuggly into the slide AND the bbu, securing it in place for good.

I'm considering between a NHC GRP and Custom SFA for my next TM 1911.
Did Nova makes the slide and frame for the RWL Nighthawk pistols? If not, how does it compare to them?
Yes, nova did the slide and frame for the RWL Nighthawks. Good luck finding the stand alone kits however.

Absolutely lovely piece Ico. it does look remarkable.
I actually had to sacrifice one of my builds to finish the raptor, but I couldn't stand not having it finished. Not gonna fire that thing though.
Whenever the weather returns to our mediterranean lovely weather instead of the british weather we're having now I'll take decent-er pictures.

I...I finally "completed" this thing, I thought I'd never manage it.
To do:
- New grip screws
- Correct hammer
- Wait for the weather to get better to take some decent pictures

TBF best bet is buying a PDI piston head. They are a plastic ring with an Oring creates a much better seal and dont degrade.
I dislike PDI piston heads, too tight for my taste.
Also, I don't know if they make one for the px4.

So I encountered a problem after today's CQB game. The nozzle was stuck in forward position. Taking off the slide and pushing it back it will go back but it will slightly go forward. Taking apart the entire back part of the slide revealed the cause to be the buffer(at least I think its the buffer. part PX-10). I don't know if it was swollen or something but it wouldn't let the nozzle move normally. I used green gas and it was 2-5 degree Celsius on today. Anyone know a solution?
Part PX10 is the piston head (or piston cup or however you want to call it). It's the part that seals the gas in the nozzle.
You might want to try lubing it, but if it's swollen it won't do any good.
If it's deformed and or swollen your best bet is to get a replacement piston head:
Check the interior of the nozzle itself or deformation and or damage.

That's almost too much revolver to handle by one man alone.....

A bit more SAI porn. This time it's an AS g35 set vs the GM 17

A few pictures of the wear that has started appearing on the cerakote... I thought it'd be stronger.
The more experts should be able to tell if this kind of wear is normal for such low level of use (100-ish rounds, probably less).
Now the barrel, now the barrel is another matter entirely.....
As you can see, not a scratch on the finish, not even on the underside with the stainless steel recoil spring.... colour me impressed.

I sold my two M9s (thank God) today and got the money to get a decent 1911. As a 1911 owner anyway I'm OK with brands such as SD, 9Ball etc.. But one problem I have is finding a threaded barrel to fit a standard 1911/MEU pistol.. I have my eye on a Kimber kit or WE Desert Warrior 5.1 + TM 1911A1 (Strip metal kit from WE)
Has anyone got any experience with the Madbull one or Nineball? I heard the 9Ball was made of pot-metal?
If by madbull you mean this:
I'd avoid it. I got it basically for free and I use it to have some fun with. However:
- The hop up chamber is for WE, it will work if you use a full length recoil rod with your 1911. However you can swap the hop and inner for marui ones.
- The barrel is a 3 piece affair, the thread itself is the WE threaded barrel adapter, glued to a standard WE barrel. Also the chamber and the barrel itself are separate parts GLUED together (not threaded)
- The barrel itself will end up falling off the chamber sooner or later, I guarantee it. You can re-glue it but it'll always fall again.
- The tolerances on the barrel lugs and chamber itself are horrible if you try to use it with a marui.
- It's made of zinc alloy AKA pot metal
The nineball is incredibly overpriced but what it is but other than that it's ok.
-
DIY aye? I'd be worried of that thing flying into my face from recoil. How did you mount it anyhow?
A little heads up on the gunsmodify RMR set, it's INCREDIBLY sensitive to sear wear. since the trigger bar gunsmodify provides is slightly longer:
TM:
Guarder:
gunsmodify:
As you can see, guarder being guarder it's the shortest. That's why sometimes the trigger bar they provide makes the sear don't catch the hammer.
As it turns out, I had my sear fitted to a guarder trigger bar before knowing the trigger bar was included in the package, since I've been waiting for this thing since september, and once installed the slide set had some difficulty cycling and some poking around revealed the trigger bar putting incredible pressure on the BBU.
A slight sanding of the sear caused this so I'd recommend getting a steel sear that won't be damaged. Or if your TM is brand new and noone has fitted a guarder trigger bar you should be good for life.
After switching to a very old and used standard marui sear, the slide cycles perfectly.
Images courtesy of GM and their review of the SAI set.
Anyone care to request any specific comparison pics between the ACE1 and the GM?
-
Well, since it's understandable that some people are worried about weight and cycling I did weight the two...let's get nerdy!
778.8 corresponds to the Gunsmodify, 757.3 corresponds to the ACE 1.
A few things to note:
- The gunsmodify has the steel lonewolf type extended slide lock included in the pack.
- The gunsmodify has the zero hammer (steel), vs the marui one on the ACE 1
- The gunsmodify has the adjustable trigger vs the plastic marui on the ACE 1
- The gunsmodify one has steel sights vs the aluminum ones on the ACE 1
- The gunsmodify has a steel barrel vs the aluminum one on the ACE 1
- The gunsmodify has a guarder frame vs the marui one on the ACE 1
- The gunsmodify one has a marui brass inner barrel vs the stainless steel one on the ACE 1
To give a broader comparison, I weighted my G17 with an old 7075 slide and detonator sights (steel) and threaded barrel (aluminum with steel thread cap) and gunsmodify old adjustable trigger (lighter than the SAI one), marui magwell and nineball .03 stainless inner barrel. No other parts changed...782.3g
So coming in as the most lightweight: Ace 1. 21.5 g later comes the gunsmodify and in last place, my trusty ol' G17 25g heavier.
Incredible job gunsmodify did keeping the weight down EVEN with a steel barrel.

Hi M,
Well done on a smashing piece of kit, I missed out on this kit unfortunately due to prior commitments,
there are only so many Airsoft guns you can treat yourself to for Christmas, and my Christmas started last September
I'd love to see a few more photos, are you happy enough with the Cerakoted parts ???
It really does look like a quality piece.
Cheers.
Ask and you shall recieve!... beware, pic intensive...
And now, comparison shots with the ACE 1 , for good measure:
Lastly, a comparison between the quality of assembly of the RMRs... the ACE 1's dot is a lot brighter and a bit hard to use in low light conditions. Here's a comparison shot between the glueing of the glass on those things. First up the ACE 1:
As you can see, the glue on the gunsmodify is a lot more regularly applied.
As for the cerakote, I haven't shot the thing nearly enough to cause any wear and I'm not familiar with the finish. It's the first time I've even seen it, so I cannot fairly pass judgement.
I'm pondering the GunsModify set too (though I'd wait for the black one) and wondering how the performance suffers with RMR stuck on the back; I'm guessing it's pretty noticeable.
Does anyone make CO2 magazines for TM GLOCKs? Would the customised internals of the GunsModify survive it?
The RMR slide set is actually lighter than standard aluminum slided (NOT PLASTIC ,AS STATED ABOVE) glocks, this should answer your question:
Are the gunsmodify kits still available anywhere? I think I just might have to break the bank and buy one...and a glock...and an RMR...and a holster
Damn..they sold out already? Fret not, more sets are coming (of other kinds). Just check gunsmodify's facebook.
Heres a (probably dumb) question. I have a "WE" (3HK) G18 Gen.3 but I'm looking for a 17 so I can have all the cool looking slides and such, Being a stingy git I don't want to spend too much, If I can source a TM/WE/Compatible ACM clone, would the slide (plus all its internals) be a direct fit to my 18 Lower? That way I could take my 18 upper to a game in my pack, swap it over in down-time or in the safe zone and run it FA again... Unless its not quite that easy and needs extensive modifications to work then I'll just buy a 17
Eh... er... yeah, just get a 17. If you want cool slides, just get a marui 17. Plenty to choose from.

Gunsmodify's goodies arrived....
Tightest slide for glock, no question. What an amazing piece..... I am at a loss for words to express how awesome this set is.

Lovely piece! How's the quality? I bet it wasn't easy to get that kit.... dentrinity?
Too bad it's HW ABS....
-
Nice. I have a couple samples they sent me. I just haven't had a chance to install them yet. But the quality looked decent. I didn't check the package, does the slide set come with the tall sights? And is that RMR RS or replica (if the latter, which version)?
The slide set does come with tall sights, however only the front one is dotted and the dot is dim and small. The RMR is the one that comes with the kit, ACM replica of the brightness adjustable one.
The dot is way too bright and big to be used in dim light conditions but outside works fairly well. Comment on quality below.
I watched a review on YouTube. The reviewer was not impressed. Very sloppy slide fit and a dodgy sear that caused the slide to lock back then fire when you bumped it.
Well, this particular kit is a japanese one (or at least one that was supposedly going to japan)which means it also comes with a precision inner (of undetermined diameter since I lack the tools to test), however it's stainless steel much to my surprise.
Surface quality is as the youtube review described, dings and imperfections everywhere. The extractor is exactly as the review described, it can just fall off on it's own without any resistance. Also as the review described, the screw provided for the sight is too big for the marui BBU.
However, things here turn interesting.... my particular slide fits fairly snug and exhibits no trace of the issue where you had to bump the slide for the gun to fire. Also the RMR glass has not decided to travel and see the world and is still attached to the rest of the RMR.
Lastly the recoil spring and rod are fairly nice but the spring itself is very stiff and the finish on both the barrel and recoil rod is somewhat gritty not smooth like the rest of the slide.
Need waffle pattern stippling!
BTW I saw the lots of fans of the kit local forums already obtained extra frame and got it stippled and some even with a NIB TM G17 waiting for installation.
I suck at stippling so I'll need someone else to do it. Also, if you have a G17 you're either confusing this with the gunsmodify kit or you're confused about the ACE 1 , since it's for the G18.
I also have a gunsmodify costa kit on it's way, so I'll do comparison shots on both as soon as it arrives (assuming postal services doesn't loose the package).

I find it odd that I haven't seen one of these posted in here so here it goes... Ace 1 SAI RMR slide and Staedtler B 1 pencil.

The threaded barrel on the picture looks like a SD one. The good thing about the GM SAI slide is that it's ramped to ease supressor use but I'm not sure if it'll work... those ospreys are heavy.
