Installed the parts just now and it works fine. Only thing is, on the original one, I could disassemble the slide without much problem, but the new striker indicator plate sits a little lower and so I have to use a small tool to push down the hammer for the slide to come off, so field stripping is a bit cumbersome but not a big deal IMO.
A common problem with replacements, apparently. The ONLY WE xdm I've ever handled (or seen) had this as well.
-
Thanks for the tip. Will do.
If this turns out to be too much BS I will just take the slide catch plate from the TM, mod the slide and install it on the WE and be done with it. Still pretty disappointed with the TM on several points compared to the WE... Trigger pull and break, frame material and finish, metal parts finish, striker indicator plate (silver on TM vs. black on WE)... :|
Last time I checked, the WE XDM had the striker indicator silver , just like the marui 0.o
Pic related.
Anyways, I forgot to mention another possibility regarding the barrel. If the barrel is pressing very hard against the hole on the front of the slide, it MAY cause it to jam as you described, this was the case with my SD glock slide and barrel.
Pic so you can see what I mean:
As you can see by those scratches, the slide was pressing so hard against the barrel that it seemed jamed.
If the barrel-on-frame trick doesn't give you any hints, check for this.
-
Try putting the barrel (with hop chamber, ofc) on the frame by itself and see how it behaves.
It should be able to have the full range of movement. Also, do the same with the plastic barrel and see if you can spot the difference.
-
You should check the hammer mech.
Apparently there was a little design flaw with the first gen M&Ps. The yellow piece in this picture:
was actually rounded:
Thus causing 3-round bursts sometimes. WE promised to replace every gun with this problem for free in taiwan, and supposedly no gun comes with that problem anymore.
In case it has this problem, WE posted the solution, filing the piece so it's flat:

Hmm perhaps I chose the words wrong. The point I was trying to make is that this second case broke in the exact same way without the presence of the air bubble.
-
Seems the busted nozzle on propane isn't an isolated case. Another one reported at ASF in Minnesota:
That one broke in EXACTLY the same way as the one here, and doesn't have the bubble from casting.
Well, looks like this thing can't handle green all that well...

God damnit. I have had this for a while now, it grew on me, for sure. I like it. But there is one thing missing that really bothers me. The lack of interaction between outer barrel and slide. It's a fixed barrel so the lugs don't lock, and it's missing that final "click / klack" sound when you rack the slide, god damnit!
Almost considering selling it just because of that. But then again I can't build an aluminum kit pistol with CO2 capabilities out of the box AFAIK so... and I am too clumsy with the tools, otherwise I would do that probably.
*fruitcage* ###### this is, airsoft guns...
I'm surprised they used a straight blowback barrel...oh well, probably so they wouldn't have to hand-fit every barrel (which is a pain).
On the plus side, it probably works better that way.

"The first thing you will notice (apart from the detachable optic rail) is how heavy it is, 2.8kgs mag in no rail and optics."
You sure of that? almost 3kg for a cz75 clone?
-
Love it, I hope you do more of these events.

sorry, added a dot to the link... should work now... actually, it doesn't...works if you copypaste it thou...
It's the same slide comp set as this: http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Pistols_SMGs_Airsoftsurgeon_Airsoft_Surgeon_2012_Infinity_GM_Open_Red.htm
which was my inspiration for the build.
What parts will you change?
-
Hot stuff....I'm doing a prog4 build myself with this set http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1793
I'll post pictures of the WIP as soon as the colour parts arrive (SD red grip and red c-more).
When I first saw your build I thought you were going for the "triple tap" movie IMM..
-
ooooh infinity IMM....niiice.
One thing strikes me as odd however.... no slide racker?
Question: is it AS? prohandgun? prog4?

Are those kimber raptors marui based? if so... where did you get those kits... specially the blued black one.... *drool*
-
yeah, saw that ages ago...still, it's not that I don't trust those demos , it's just that it doesn't work like that.
Whatever that man is able to acomplish with those sights it's probably different from what I'd be able to acomplish.
By the way, does anyone know of a store that has detonator Heinie sights for the marui 17 in stock? (online is OK) I need those for my salient arms glock 35.
-
argh , didn't notice it was a 19 and a KSC..oh well. Curse you ksc users for being able to use RS sights....
If I ever get a g26 I was thinking about using this kind of sight since they look awesome for fast aquisition but I always doubt how accurate they are...
Nice pistol nevertheless
-
Nice! detonator XS sights, right? how easy are they to use?
-
It's too hard I must say!
The biggest issue I encountered was the fitment of the sear pin!
I wanted to use Nova ambi safety and had to mod the Nova pin in order to fit! There are a couple of marks... thankfully they are under the thump-safety!
Also there's a mark on the frame from the Nova slide stop! Man when I saw this I was really angry! I spent hours of careful modding/ fitment and a rather expensive part causing me troubles! You can see the mark at the photo's!
Wolf
The nova slide stop (the non chrome ones) always rides too close to the frame , doing exactly that. It even does it on the PGC kits (and the finish on those is resilient...)
Still, detonator aluminum is waffles.(that made me lol once I read it)...meaning it's very soft and easy to scratch.
-
You're also lacking the cable leading to the car battery that powered up the laser in the first terminator movie : P
AWESOME stuff.

Odd, are the grip pannels a little separated from the frame or are my eyes playing with me?
-
Nice finish, missing the extractor thou. Care to do a before/after picture?
that's still not a primed cz75 thou : P

I think it's more of a dark FDE than a grey; Either way, besides the point. *fruitcage* my country, I'd kill to own that R/S.
The Airsoft one is damned nice 'n all (Unless it's R/S, in which case it's still damned nice).
My guess would be that the tan one is a hurricane kit (black trigger and ambi safeties from the original MEU) and the grey one is RS (correct ambi safeties and grip safety).
Nice desert warriors nevertheless.

Here's my take on it, it's his gun, he's happy and it works, debating it in a picture thread wont alter it,
And here's a picture
new to me Kimber Warrior in ###### colour and my new PGC 1911 Military to the left all my TM built 1911, now I just NEED a chrome S70/black S70 kit to be readily available
Not a fan of the grips on your bling framed kimber.. otherwise it's great. That nighthawk and SA operator make my pants moist...

hmm! shiny! Does the finish scratch easily?

But Solid / Old Snake prefers his un-pinned therefore it is the better option

So meh .
Still i just can't see the need in pinning it unless it is loose, but each to their own, have heard that pinning is more the preference of competiton shooters in IPSC (not allowed in IDPA from what i know due it being more defence based) rather than military and defence shooters.
'FireKnife'
Variety of reasons, for competition it has a few advantages:
- The grip has the same shape, always
- There is nothing making pressure against you (makes it somewhat easier to pull the trigger badly for people with small hands)
- Sometimes when picking the thing up in a rush your grip won't be perfect and having that safety pushing against your hand doesn't help matters
- Makes the grip constantly slimmer for people with small hands.
Also apparently some people do not depress the safety fully (big handed people IIRC) so the trigger gets a little wonky.
And if you search the interwebs people give all kinds of reasons, mine is: it's more comfortable for me.
Also, big boss >> old snake.
If it's good enough for Big Boss, it's plenty good enough for you. Mmmmmk??
Damn right.

Never heard of that happening with the marui. In any case I was confused as hell to see this, even if it's not hard to fix it's still a nuisance.
