  1. A quick update, I didn't use the gun for the past week or two, and when I was trying to use it again, as I was trying to put the gas in from the bottom, the gas all spilled out from the other side! That was disappointing.

I put a little lube on the valve, and warm the mag with my hand for a while, and now it's good again. I guess the sea on the valve was not so good as many have pointed out.

  2. Thnx... budget airsofter, i can find pics, but thanks for the info, its all new to me that stuff :)

Shame it has stick mags :(

Oh, not the TM EBB guns. Get the GBB ones. Especially the Desert Eagle, or if you don't mind realism or the lack of, the Hi Capa, and if you wait two more weeks, the P226!

Yea, the old KSC G17 and USP compact are excellent, and as far as I know. They are the guns that reproduce the real steel trademark and dimensions perfectly, and the KSC's trademarks are all hiden in places that require dissembly to see.

  3. Different person has different taste, glocks are the most beautiful thing to some people while berettas are the most beautiful thing to others, and with that said, all the 1911 lovers would probably shoot me if I don't mention that as well.

For cosmetic finish, go with TM or KSC since WA seems to be out of your budget limit. KJW's guns are NOT for displaying on shelves. I guess Maruzen's are OK, but the slide build and the trademarks on my P99 certainly have room for improvements.

  4. I have both MP5 and M4, and I didn't bother re-posting pictures in the MP5 pic thread, so I guess it's only fair that I don't re-post picture in the Armalite thread either. ;) All the pictures are already in my gallary or THE picture thread.

  5. Heh, that's the one I got too. Did you have the feed problem that a BB sometimes flies out of the chamber when the slide is blown back? I had this a couple times like I mentioned in the review, and I think it's due to BB misfeed, but instead of jamming, the extra BB just flew out. :P

  6. Here is something I did of my girlfriend, everything was done straight into the computer with a graphics tablet. (her body/looks is as you see)

and if you want a closer look at her (*WARNING*large pic)

Nice, now if you can do it from the other side, that'd be super! :D

  7. Just a small mistake, but one nevertheless.

At the specification table at the top, the mag capacity is 27+1, while in the review, the capacity is 26. Which one is the correct one?

Otherwise, I congratulate you Shao, great review. Slightly convinced me to buy a DE, but remembered I have small hands :)

    Cheers mate

I think that's a mistake. I can only put 26 in the mag, and you can have one in the pipe, so that's 26+1 total capacity.

I wouldn't say I have a big hand, buy I can hold the DE all right. :)

  8. Finally, I got my own Maruzen P99 (thanks to Redhawk) with silencer (but not the box set), and I can confirm almost everything Arnie said in the review.

One thing, Arnie if you are reading this, it seems there's a typo in that table where you recorded the power and range for various gases you tested. For the Abby ultra gas, the range you recorded is half as others, but the fps is comparable to green gas. Just wondering what happen to the range when you used Abby ultra gas.

I guess there's really no need for me to write another review of it since I'll be just re-saying pretty much everything but less eloquently than Arnie has. :P

But a few points I'd like to stress again:

Yes, the silencer makes a noticable difference.

The METAL subframe inside the slide is really nice.

    Nice decocking button.

The power and blowback action suck with 134a gas. Slide is impossible to lock unless you warm up the mag to near body temperature.

When stuff the magazine all the way to the top, mine completely fails to cycle the slide, and shoots the BB in the chamber like a NBB (let me know if some other factors contribute to this failure). I only put 21 BBs in the 24 rd mag nowadays.

On green gas, or a mix of green gas and 134a, the blowback action and power improve DRASTICALLY! One of my most powerful GBBs on green gas.

Barrel rattles a bit especially with the silencer on, but the accuracy is outstanding either with 134a or green gas. One of my most accurate GBBs.

One other thing that I don't think Arnie made it clear. When the trigger is at DA position, one can either shoot the gun to set it to SA position, or rack the slide AND then manually pull the trigger back half of the way. It is kind of different from Beretta that merely racking the slide of the P99 will NOT set the trigger to SA position although the first half of the trigger pull has no more resistence. And then the trigger will stay in SA position after each shot. However, when the trigger is in SA position, and you manually cycle the slide (or use the decocking button), the trigger will be reset to DA position.

  9. An additional note, maybe the 1911A1 has different variants for the safety, here's what I read, "Hammer could be locked either in cocked or in lowered position, allowing the gun to be carried in "cocked and locked" state, with safety on, hammer cocked and round chambered. Additional automated safety incorporated into rear of the grip and locks the action when gun not held in the hand properly." from http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg04-e.htm

Also, the TM 1911A1 springer's thumb safety can be put on safe with the hammer uncocked too.

  10. Yet this IS how the real thumb safety works. The gun cannot be put in safe unless the hammer is cocked back. If there is something else unrealistic about it or if it was a typo I'd be glad to know.

Oops, :P I apologize for this inaccuracy in my review. Certainly my fault for not doing the research right on the real 1911a1.

There's also serveral threads such as this

    http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...wtopic=3203&hl=

and the cross links contained in there, that came to my attention after I wrote the review. They were about the mags for the KJW 1911 (single or double stackers), and how this mag problem might have contributed to the BB rolling out of barrel or low gas efficiency, but I have not yet tried to mess with the screws on my mag. As for now, a full charge of gas could support about 2 mags BB, and the BB rolling out of the barrel is also getting rare. I still think the mag leaks somewhat, but not really noticable for short term.

I just got my KJW M9 full metal yesterday, and so far, it feels more solid than the 1911a1, ie less rattle, and the mag has more than double the BB capacity (25). Seems like a better choice for skirmish sidearm. I might write up a review for that when I have time too. :)

  11. Say, is the interview still going to take place? Well now that R22Master's in Florida, but I guess he could always do a phone interview or something, and makes Arnie's true identity even more mysterious, like Charlie only talks to his angels through a speaker phone. ;)
