  1. Come on, you think I really believe TM intentionally put that kind of marks on an otherwise beautiful gun? ;) In any case, let us know when you get yours. I am aware of the thread discussing the TM1911A1 packaging. When the box got to me, it was sealed pretty well, and the content inside didn't appear to have shifted out of place during transit. So, the possibility of the mag hitting the gun making those marks is not that great either.

  2. Here are a few more close-up pictures showing the TM1911A1 and the WA Kimber side by side. I trust you can tell which one is which. You can also see the minor chips/scratches on the bottom of the TM1911A1 frame I mentioned, but you see no seamlines!

  3. After some more plinking, the groupings of the TM 1911A1 and my WA Kimber TLE/RL II are virtually the same at 5m. The kick is almost the same too shooting them side by side. Powerwise, both of them easily cleared both side of a regular coke can at point blank range. All shootings are done indoors at relatively warm room temp using propane. Maybe I should get another one of these. :P The only problem is that the safety is not ambidextrous, so it's not ideal for dual wielding. :P

I hope TM will release some modern variants like WA does. I'd certainly like a Wilson.

  4. You need to push the last two rounds in from the top to achieve 25 rounds capacity; otherwise, you can only drop 24 rounds in from the bottom.

Yea, I don't think there's anything wrong with the mag, but just compare to my WA Kimber, it's not as efficient. ;) Of course the WA mag is almost twice as expensive (so is the gun).

I guess the TM grip panel is a more accurate replica then.

I think there's always been some kind of law/regulation against using more powerful gas than 134a in Japan, and all Japanese GBBs were designed to the 134a tolerance. TM was just over-achieving their design specs in their recent guns. ;)

(Come to think about it, I've been buying all the recent TM GBBs, and none of them disappoints. It seems likely I'll keep buying whatever new gbbs TM will release in the future too. :P)

  5. I guess I can say a few words about it now that I have one too. :P

The finish is indeed quite nice. TM has finally got up with others in terms of finish and hiding seam lines though there's still a faint hint of seam on the trigger guard. There's some small chips and scratches on the bottom side of the frame. I can't see how that can be damaged, or maybe TM did that on purpose to give the gun a battle worn look and to distract the user from whatever small seam trace there is. :P The grip panels, however, are quite plastic looking. I'd say the TM 1911A1 springer's grip panels look better than this. The rear sight is quite plastic looking too, but luckily, it's also quite small, so not too noticable.

Trademarks, got to love TM's deeply engraved trademarks, only rivaled by some of the WA guns.

Anyways, the weight is all right, not as heavy as my WA Kimber, but nor is a real un-customized 1911A1. The tip of the hammer is widened for easier cocking. The hammer can only be manually decocked to half cocked position. To lower the hammer all the way down, one has to shoot it without gas. Didn't try to lower the hammer with gas in since I quite like my thumb.

The gun is fairly loud on propane, but so are most full size GBBs. The blowback on propane is really nice, quick and strong, puts my FMV KJW M9 to shame. Accuracy is what one can expect from TM. Haven't tested power yet, but seems decent on propane.

The gas efficiency is, well, disappointing, at least with my copy. The gun can not empty the 25 rd mag on one charge of propane. I suspect with 134a, it should be able to, but I don't have any more 134a now to try it. It can consistently shoot out 23 rd before the gas runs out completely. My Kimber's single stack can shoot around 40 rounds on a full charge of propane.

In conclusion, TM has lived up to or out done its standards in everyway except the gas efficiency, which may be improved with future mag release (or maybe my mag is one of the not so good ones in the batch.) I think TM has decisively won the 1911 battle against KSC although I have not personally held a KSC 1911A1, so don't quote me on that just yet. :P

  6. It seems that it is possible to safely manually decock a TM DE (a dude who borrowed mine did that several times, nothing happened), but I would NEVER do that myself. Ever.  :P

oh no, I tried that with my TM DE HK, and the slide "flew" back at me. But usually, when you manually decock slowly, the gas released is not as much, and so the blowback of the slide is really weak, but still not recommended.

In any case, UNco just informed me that my 1911 is on the way. :) Incidentally, they haven't changed the pre-order price on the gun, yet, even though the gun is already in stock (wgc has changed their price). ;) I'll find out for myself if TM did anything new about the hammer system.

  7. It's unsafe to manually decock any loaded gun, airsoft or real; but Danger is my middle name. :P

Seriously, I only manually decock my Tanaka revolvers, and occassionally my WA Kimber. The TM Hi Capa 4.3 simply can not be manually decocked. And my experience with other TM GBBs, they either provide a decocking lever, or discharge some gas when manually decocking.

  8. I just got mine today from RW, and I put on my WE Hi-Capa Slide it does fire and cycle properly.  So There should be bunch of upgrade parts already exist.

Why would you want to put an Hi Capa slide on it?

I'll probably wait till GnG has it in stock before I buy one. Oh, UNcompany has it on pre-order too. Maybe I'll order one now. :P

  9. Ok, so I just got this gun, and almost started an argument in the AK Picture thread by just posting a picture.

Anyways, here's what I have to say about this gun so far. On the box, there's a sticker says, "New Generation Pre-upgrade AEG" with a list of things that are supposed to have been upgraded, and evidently, "steel" means "Harden Silicon Alloy" to ICS in big letters. <_< I've been told that the box with this sticker means this AK is Ver. 2, or maybe just the second batch, but I don't know.

What I do know is that the handguard wasn't installed correctly out of the box, the handguard lock pin wasn't in place, but that was easy to put in place. Just make sure you check that when you get your gun, so you don't accidentally drop that pin and loose it.

The gun is really long, in fact, about 3cm longer than the real steel according to world guns data on the real steel, but feels pretty solid and balanced. It's quite heavy at around 3kg, heavier than the CA AK copy.

The ejection port cover makes a nice metallic sound when racked. The plastic used on the stock is ok, just ok.

The fire mode selector has a small click on auto, and no click on semi, but works fine.

Both mags (comes with the gun as standard) fit the mag well very well, with not rattle.

I charged a 8.4v large battery, and loaded up both mags (500 BBs each). The stock is more roomy than that of ICS MP5A4's, but the battery is still a tight fit with no movement after the buttplace is closed. Not sure if a 9.6v large battery would fit.

With 8.4v, the ROF is good, accuracy is good, but nothing exceptional. Didn't get to test range or power yet. The ICS guns tends to make a slightly high pitched screeching noise with shooting, and the AK is no exception, but it's not a big deal.

Each of the mags required two full windings to empty 500 BBs. No misfeed or jam or lock up happened during the two mags shooting both on auto and semi. So far so good.

The next morning, however, when I pick up the gun again, and shot a short burst on auto, then switched to semi, pulled the trigger, the fuse was blown. I put in a new fuse, pulled the trigger on semi, the new fuse was blown again. I removed the motor and tested the motor still worked fine. The gears seemed to have locked up. I put in another fuse, and instead of shooting on semi, I shot in auto, and everything worked again. Incidentally, the motor is 3000, not as shown in the older above picture. I'll have to play with this gun some more to see if the fuse still breaks easily.

  10. It's an ICS.  <_<

What are you saying? I should be defecting to Taiwan? :P

And I just started playing MGS3 again... :o

    Coincidence? I think not. ;)

Now did you both need to quote the pic, once is bad enough, but twice!

    ;)

It's 4 times, and counting. :P At least, my picture wasn't that big.

    daddy wants!

Didn't you get one for Farther's Day?

    Oh thats gorgeous Shao.

Now, let's see if this beauty shoots as well as it looks. :)

  11. This thread is so unclear. Airsoft AEGs are clones of real steels, and almost all non-TM "real" AEGs are clones of TM AEGs, or at least inspired to some degree by the TM gearbox.

CYMA's electric guns don't even qualify as AEGs, and their internals are not clones of TM's.

In any case, unless you can make the thread more clear and actually interesting (a picture thread on crappy guns is not really interesting), and use good grammar, this is closed.

  12. Interesting indeed. I suspect this has always been the case, and I am not aware any work or effort's being done towards restoring his account. Mods can not restore deleted files, only admins or Ivery can do that.

  13. When you search you can specify if you want to search for posts by a specific member.

As you're aware Sid made many technical posts and I can remember that they came from him. At the moment I am unable to do this because he got completely deleted not banned and as such certain files are missing, causing everything related to his presence on the forum to be funky and slightly skew-whiff.

I am aware of that, but you said when you did a certain search his name and avatar reappeared? Which search was that?

His name would always show up in the forum index if he started a thread.
