  1. I didn't remember seeing a definite fix for that, hopefully you'll find your answer though! I've got my Wii Tech sear coming in soon, and it didn't appear to be as aggressively curved as the other sets on the market. With ST19AG_WGreymon's parts fitting perfectly with the stock parts, hopefully the sear will be the same.

Anyways, I've got the Wii Tech sear auto sear, sear, type C trigger and fire pin locker which should arrive around next week.

The Texas Weapon Systems gen 3 handguard is out of stock pretty much everywhere, though it seems it was only released a few months ago. I sent them a message asking when they think they should restock. I did manage to get the gen 3 Dog Leg dust cover though, so we'll see how that fits.

Snagged an Ergo grips rubberized AK grip, which should be pretty easy to fit.

Last thing I grabbed was an LCT AK 100 series style sight block.

Looking forward to building it all :)

  2. So, I've been talking with W&S Airsoft, the company which made those really nice external kits.

Apparently the WE steel trigger set was something set-up by WE Tech (not WE Model) with some other OEM. (No real surprise here.) So, still not WE, though some other unknown company... not RA-tech though.

There was also apparently a small release of Co2 magazines only sold in Taiwan around two years ago...

    Edit:

Also found this. Picture is from a now gone website named Gbbnews.eu sometime in 2012, though I was still able to find it on Google Images.

  3. We have modded both AEG and real RSB into our WE Aks. AEG required filling with steel epoxy between the barrel and the RSB (as the inner diameter was too wide), then machining the groove. The real RSB required the groove and some filing here and there to make everything perfect fit.

So you'd say a real RSB is easier to fit? Also, what is the groove you're referring to?

  4. I don't get it. Are these the new, revised APS CAM870 shells that will prevent putting real gun powder in them?

The video is not very clear as to what is new?

I like the idea of a faster fill method but if it messes with the load capacity and load realism I am not pleased...

It's not shown in this video, though there were pictures floating around with redesigned bolts and shells.

The bolts have a larger "firing pin" than the old bolts, and the shells have a larger release valve. Old shells are compatible with the old bolts, though not vice versa. These just seem easier to fill than the older models.

  5. Actually it'll be cheaper for him to buy a complete, albeit busted AEG. So many people there unwilling to fix something as simple as a busted gear or piston and just flog it as a boneyard piece.

I was thinking about that, and while you're right, fitment of the Dogleg might be a bit off with an AEG sight block.

Real sight blocks aren't super expensive as it is anyways.

  6. Just a quick heads up. Luke Branch, the WE-Tech sales rep replied to a comment on their Facebook page saying he has a working prototype of the Co2 mag on his desk.

Given WE's recent release of the "clamped" 80rd stanag mags which were shown somewhere in 2014, I'd like to assume they're taking a closer look at improving their magazines.

  7. @Dimitri MdP

    Thanks for the reply!

I'm not super familiar with the AK platform, and the first picture I looked at while searching for the trunnion had the sight block attached to it, which led me to believe they were one part. How easy would you say the sight block is? Should I look at a real one or one made for an AEG?

I'll see about shooting KY Airsoft or KIC a message for the 74UN outer.

For the two websites, it looks like I was actually viewing TaiwanGun. A friend sent me the link and I opened it on mobile, I didn't recognize it right away.

Forgot to list down what I have!
I've got a new RA/Maple inner barrel sitting somewhere (though it's for the MWS, not sure if that'll change anything yet), along with a plethora of the new Maple Leaf buckings I've been meaning to test out.

Even still, I swear by the Falcon VS-Z bucking paired with their inner barrels. I've got a barrel and bucking waiting already.

  8. I recently picked up a used PMC model with four mags very cheap (around $200 USD). None of the parts are broken, the previous owner just didn't have use for it. I'm going through renovations, and most of my airsoft stuff is tucked away in a storage unit for a few months, so I don't have access to it.

I'm wanting to completely overhaul it internally and externally, though I'd like some advice before I go ahead. I sat down for about an hour and read through this entire thread, so I'm hoping I absorbed enough info.

    1. How is the compatibility with real AK parts? Specifically, handguards, gas tubes, and dust covers? I'm looking at installing the Texas Weapons System short top Mlok handguard, and the TWS Dogleg railed dust cover.

If later on I'm feeling adventurous, I'm considering replacing the sight trunnion with a steel one. Do you think it would be possible to modify a real trunnion, or would I have better luck trying to fit an AEG part?

How about outer barrels? If all else fails I could possibly look at finding someone to machine one, I'd rather have something that fits with the rest of the rifle.

    2. Anyone know where to locate the Well clones, or more specifically the Co2 magazines? The two websites I found no longer have them.

While we're still on the topic of magazines, how is valve compatibility? I've got a few A+ Ramjet valves I'm interested in trying out.

    I've go a few other questions/comments.

    1. 1. Every so often on the GHK groups I see people saying the WE isn't "truly full travel" to prove why GHK is the better system. Anyone know if there is truth to this, or just typical banter?

    2. I'm not denying that the parts are zinc alloy, I'm just curious in knowing who figured out WE uses zinc alloy parts. Someone who was working on a project a while back asked me this same question and I didn't have any info on it other than through word of mouth.

    3. How did the WE steel trigger set fair? I didn't see much in the ways of discussion about it here.

I'm really curious to see how the Wii Tech parts end up being. The triggers were released a few weeks after their other parts, so there's a possibility they could be producing the rest of the parts, like they did for the TA2015. I've sent them an email asking about other parts. I remember reading here about an issue with either the RA or Hep sear catching too early. The Wii Tech sear and trigger grooves seem to be significantly smoother, so operation may be smoother. Really excited to hear how they work out. I'm tempted to pick up a set, especially if they fair better than the current offerings.

Other plans I have for my gun involve either using washers/FG LFS discs or the Japan spec nozzle for an improved blowback with a lower output. Anything I'm missing?

  9. VSR style hop rubbers and 80mm inner barrel? What are the retention options with this? I can't see a lanyard loop on it.

I haven't taken mine apart yet, though I believe they use the KJ style buckings. Mostly similar, though they have the tabs on both sides to keep it centered, unlike VSR buckings which only have it on one side. I don't know if there are any size differences or if those are compatible. See: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/falcon-6-03-precision-inner-barrel-for-kjw-kp-09-gbb-105mm.htmlhttp://shop.ehobbyasia.com/falcon-double-point-hop-up-rubber-for-kjw-cz-p09-gbb-70-deg.html

I don't think there's much that can be done right now to be honest,

  10. I'd be interested if the standard CZ75  green gas mags fit if anyone finds out.

Don't like that bumper at all. Wonder if it can be removed?

Standard KJW CZ mags are compatible. I'm pretty sure the bumper is necessary for the co2 mags at least.

  11. Is it just me or do the contact surfaces between hammer and sear (and disconnector) look rather small and rough?

It didn't seem like that in person, though it's really difficult to get pictures of it all inside the trigger box. Even more so because I coulsnt figure out how to drop the hammer fully without it being inside the gun in the few minutes I had it disassembled.

  12. Hows the balance?  Front heavy or rear heavy?

And is there a chance gas will leak from the magazine to the reservoir on the gun?

Definitely more rear heavy, though it isn't too bad. I'm comfortable with the weight distribution.

There are a few sets of o-ring's keeping gas in both gas chambers. I did notice there was a very small amount of gas released when a magazine is removed, though that might also just be from the seal between the mag and reservoir being severed.

  13. P90, WE90, Play 90, TA2015, the gun with too many names. The gun so many people around the world have been waiting half a decade for is finally out!

Up until recently there had been no new information regarding it and the project had been barred from production by Cybergun, but WE surprised us and released it anyways. Who knows what else in in the works, the AUGustus Caesar ^^^^hehe may very well still be somewhere.

    76 picture album here!

I got mine from Airsoft Taiwan since they were the only place to have enough mags in stock when I ordered it. I placed my order on the 20th of October and received it on the 26th of October, all the way from Taiwan. It made it into the states and through customs in 6 days. Very pleased with the speed. Airsoft Taiwan even notified me of an error in the listed weight for the magazines, leading to additional shipping costs and refunded me $75. All around wonderful service, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Airsoft Taiwan, especially if you're looking for RA-tech parts.

    Video will be up soon!

    Packaging:

Packaging is the usual odd WE packaging. There is an image of the P90 over an urban city background. You've got some Chinese writing, a funky font for the T.A-2015 logo and the two WE logos. I can't read Chinese, though my quick doodles through Google translate trying to replicate their difficult to read stylized font gave me "????, ????", "King of the road again, Die Another Day". No clue what that means, I could have also possibly gotten one of the symbols wrong. The package is actually really small compared to what I pictured, I put my hand on it for scale.

Inside the package you get the WE TA 2015, one magazine, the manual and one of their new Dragon notadildo speed loaders.

    The Gun:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Externals:

Externally, the gun is damn fine. WE's polymer has always been very sturdy and very comfortable in the hand. No creaking or wobbling aside from the charging rod/handle thing.

My Tokyo Marui High Cycle feels a little toy-ish compared to this, both in weight and material.

The upper assembly is unfortunately plastic, though the tri-rail assembly is metal. Angry Gun and some other companies will most likely have a metal upper sometime soon, keep your fingers crossed for a red dot upper.

The unfortunate part of the upper being plastic is that the threading for the outer barrel are two halves of the plastic coming together. Not so bad, though as I showed in one of the last pictures in my album if you over tighten the grub screw the pieces will bend, leading to accuracy issues. Airsoft Taiwan probably over tightened it after painting the tip.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Function/Assembly:

Function is no different than a standard P90. You have your round selector switch, dual side charging handle, dual side magazine release and a tri-rail.

Being a bullpup, the trigger is a little on the heavier side, though moving your trigger finger a little higher up helps a lot.

Magazine can be a little bit tricky when you're inserting it. If you watched Redwolf Airsoft's video you should know by now that you are NOT supposed to slap it down, even if Tim did do it immediately after. Due to how the valve connects the magazine to the internal gas chamber they need to be lined up properly. I've had a few points where I've pushed the magazine down without the valves being properly lined up and had a mist of gas released in my face.

The magazine is very easy to load, no special feed lips or odd angles required, just point it down and load. They hold a LOT of gas, though out of the box you might get some varying performance or you may only be able to load a small amount of gas. This happens when you still have air in the magazine which displaces the gas. An easy way to solve this is to hold the release valve for just a second while filling the gas. You don't need to do it too long, only for a moment after you see gas start to shoot out. This can happen with most every gas gun, same steps to fix it apply.

One thing I didn't notice in my first look-around of the gun is that there is actually a dry-fire mode. Right next to the feeding port on the magazine is a small metal plate you can push forward to cover the separate part of the follower which actuates a lever on the inside of the gun to slightly lock the bolt back.

Hop-up uses the same rotary design you find in most WE GBBR's, (ex. Scar's, Ace VD, AK, etc) very easy to use, you can adjust it by removing the magazine. Turn left to raise the hop, right to lower it.

Accuracy is pretty decent, I was landing most shots on a tree in my back yard 100 and 150 feet away with .3's. Much better stock hop-up assembly than the Scar H, though there is still room for improvement :D

Disassembly is veeeeeeeery easy, you can disassemble most of it in the gun in a few seconds. First step is to pull the charging handle, locking back the hammer. The carrier/recoil assembly will not move unless the hammer is locked back all the way. Next, take off the magazine and you'll notice a button right above the thumb hole. Push it down and the entire assembly slide off. Aim the body down and the carrier assembly will slide right out. The butt plate slides upwards, and the trigger assembly can be removed by pulling up a little lever and aiming it down so it slides out.

When reassembling, be careful of the position of the butt plate! The recoil rod assembly has a pin which sits in a slot in the butt plate, and if it isn't seated properly you will have feeding/cycling issues.

The P90 uses a closed bolt system, but it is NOT the closed bolt AWSS system WE had previously used. The real P90 fires from a closed bolt position, and WE replicated this in their manual. A closed bolt basically means that the carrier and bullet are seated and fully forward waiting for the hammer to release and strike the firing pin. In the case of GBB's it strikes the release valve. Most every modern GBB uses a system like this. It is open bolt and closed bolt, though it doesn't use the AWSS system.

    Extra:

    Dragon speed loader

Very nice quality, really sturdy made, seems to be made of the same material the magazine shells are made from. Works like you'd expect any speed loader to work, and it works great. No complaints, looks pretty funny and feels comfortable to hold.ribbedforherpleasure

  14. Wooly, you are correct that something doesn't add up but I am looking at it from the opposite side.  GHK quality and performance, in my experience, has been extremely good so why would they take a risk like this?  And it is SO frustrating that they glue their nozzles together...I don't see any need for that (from a design or engineering perspective), it would give us the opportunity to tweak the nozzle for optimum performance without paying for a 1J or High Velocity nozzle...

Well, it's clear that GHK had some sort of relationship with UFC. My guess is that GHK was hired to be the OEM and was given a specific price point to stay around.

While yours has been good many others have had the opposite.

-First version G5 receivers snapping in half with eventual use. Second version breaking as well with an RA-Tech bolt carrier.

-AKs eat themselves up internally from hop chamber to hammer assembly and everything in between provided you even get them to feed properly.

-M4s, at least the ones shipped here, were so crudely machined that cycling the action literally feels like someone poured sand all over the internals.

Second gen G5 receivers also crack with the stock folded, and while using Co2.

  15. Design maybe? Someone is running one in an ak setup. No return spring and seal the back of the bolt.

    Apparently it works

No clue. The designs are all there, they just chose to prevent you from actually opening up the nozzle. It's in a two-piece design, and even the pin keeping them together is glued in place.
