tom lawson
Hi all, welcome to my TM Standard mag Reassembly Guide… I did this on a TM M14 magazine, but I assume that other TM Standard mags follow the same pattern… (?) First of all, make sure that you have all of the parts.. Here is a photo showing everything that you should have (I believe…) minus the spring And here is a photo showing you what you’ll need, (ignore the bolt, but don’t discard it): A suitably sized Allen key, the ink tube and writing bit from a ballpoint pen (biro) and small and large Phillips screwdrivers (only the large is shown here) Ok, step one is to get the spring and the bit that looks a tiny bit like a giraffes head and neck (to the left of the spring in pic 1) and then put them in place.. Before: After: Its pretty easy and shouldn’t need explaining.. Then, make sure that the little brass square with the hole in it is seated in its place at the bottom of the mag (don’t forget this!) Like so: Then, you can get both halves of the mag together, and then put them together Next, get two of the larger diameter screws and screw them into the bottom two screw holes After that, turn the mag so that where the BBs come out is uppermost, and then start feeding the spring down into the hole, whilst keeping the giraffes head thingy (what else does it look like, eh?) back
tom lawson
When there is about yay much spring left out at the top… … get the pen ink-shaft and place it down through the spring into the BB hole, but be careful not to drop it!! Continue to push the spring into the mag When there is about so much left Push the spring in by hand All you need now is the little doo-dah that pushes the BBs up Make sure it is this way round, the bottom will go into the mag first Carefully open out the mag, but not too far, and push the doo-dah in
tom lawson
Push the mag closed, and whilst keeping pressure on it, screw the remaining screws in Get some Duck tape or similar, and cover the spring opening, to save it popping out (what happened to me and prompted me to write this!) when you take off the mag shell Put the magazine back into the magazine shell, and then use the Allen key to put the bolt into that Brass bit (said it was important, didn’t i?!) and tighten, and then put the retaining pin in through the top of the mag) I hope this has helped!
