jond36
I have a mosfet I just wired, but it seems to not work and is overheating. When I pull the trigger the gun will crank a few gears (one or two) and becomes very, very hot. Bad solder?
jomarx
A little bit more detail would help... 1. is it a DIY mosfet or assembled? 2. Have you checked the battery? Low battery can kill mosfets. 3. Have you checked your shimming/motor height? 4. What battery are you using?
jond36
Sorry I thought most of those were givins. 8.4v and 9.6 used in a infected mosfet. Batteries are fine and fully charged. The weird thing is it started working again a few mins later and stopped overheating.

jond36
It seems to be working ok now but it only shoots auto even when selector is on semi. Is that a bad selector plate?
jomarx
It seems to be working ok now but it only shoots auto even when selector is on semi. Is that a bad selector plate? Possible. It can also be caused by the cut off lever going loose...
