richwuk
I've got one of these from 2008 ish. While stripping the gearbox down I notice the cylinder is the non ported type. The Para version has a 363mm barrel. I'd like assume that A&K were being lazy, but would there be any advantage for me to change the cylinder for the correctly ported one? cazboab
The advantages of matching the cylinder to the barrel are pretty much pointless in an M249, you might be able to get 5-10 fps more out of using a ported m4 cylinder, it should be a bit quieter and it might be a tiny bit more accurate due to reduced turbulence. If you've got the FPS set right as it is none of those would be things you're likely to want, since a little spread on a SAW is generally a good thing.
