gazhall212
Back in March my Oakley Si Gloves I had used for a number of years were looking very old and battered so I decided that a new pair of gloves for my up coming tour. I found these http://www.uktactical.com/acatalog/Damascus_Nitro_DMZ_33.html, I have to say this is in no way linked to UK tac they are one of the best kit shops around last week they some how manged to get my order placed on Thursday morning to my tent door by Sunday night I wish all my mail would make it out here that fast. Right the review. The gloves were very comfy to wear and give good protection with out losing to much sensitivity or dexterity. However after less then a months wear the seams at the index and middle finger of my right glove and thumb of my left split meaning, I had to cut them off this was a little upsetting but at the same time added to my allyness so was not all that bad. However with in the next 3 weeks the seams around the wrist straps also split along the Velcro closure. And I had to lose a few more fingers. I put all this down to cheap thread and not double stitching in the areas that take a lot of wear. I would say that gloves were used normal as they were designed, OK they have been used as my patrol gloves in afghan but lets face it that's what the makers expected the gloves to do, they didn't make them just to look good. As a comparison the Mechanix M Pact I replaced them with are still going strong two and a half months later with no sign of problems. Over all the Damascus were very comfy and may well hold up to the lighter use of airsofting but I do not feel they would last as long as other makes.
