I've started modifying them in order to make this style of Peltor helmet mounting, but haven't gotten around to finish it. What you'd need to complete the mod is more or less eight set-screws and 5x5 inches of sheetmetal. It's fully possible to use the original headband, but the leather cover will need a few stitches to reattach it. There are no cuts or tears in the actual leather though.
