webbjay
Hi guys, I'm a little bit stumped here. I have bought an XTNi secondhand but I just can't seem to program it. Following the manual: 1) I enter programming mode -> fine 2) I short press PTT and it reads the first digit. I can change this from 1-8, but not 0. 3) I short press PTT and it reads the second digit. I can only change this to 0 or 1. 3) I short press PTT again to change CTCSS and I can change this from 0-9. 4) The same as number 3) 5) I short press PTT again and I can only get 0 or 1 here for the 3rd digit. 6) I short press PTT once more and it returns to idle programming when it should got to auto-scan programming. Now I know this won't make sense to most people but to anyone who has an XTNi, your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jamie.
AceOfSkulls
I always programme mine by holding down the ptt and one of the other two buttons below it. Can remember which? Then turning it on. Then the first one is channel, then press ptt, then sub channel, then ptt, then scramble (0 or no one else can understand you)
webbjay
Thanks mate, think I have it sussed now. For some reason it is only giving me 1 digit for the frequency. The manual says it has 16 frequencies but it is only letting me do 8 which is no big deal. I can enter the CTCSS codes fine and turn on auto-scan so that is cool!
