PDW Specific Measurement & M4 Bolt/Buffer Tube Question

Hey Chaps,

Couple questions which I hope someone can help with.

First up can anyone measure their PDW for me? Specifically from the front of the magwell (ignoring the rib) to the rear of the upper receiver? Straight please not at an angle. Thanks in advance :)

Secondly if I where to cut an M4 bolt carrier down so I just have the nozzle section/front section then blank off the rear of the upper receiver essentially removing the need for a buffer tube. Would it still work? As in still cycle, still lock back, still fire? Specifically doing this do a WE M4.

Im not making a GBBR M4 pistol either so don't worry. Its an idea for a project.

Any help thanks :)

On the latter half, essentially yes. Although based on a WA (AGM) Primo made an LR-300 by cutting down the bolt carrier and fabricating a recoil spring assembly in front of it. You'll lose functionality of full auto however unless you're able to bring the auto sear trip forward via a transfer bar like WE does on some guns.
