Number of Members

This has probally cropped up before

 

Arnies now has way over 21,000 members - Most inactive though

 

However, on the main page/ main forum page it seems to think that there are only around 17,000 - And it never changes.

 

Can this be fixed?

I tried look at the member number of the most recent new-member, but couldn't find it in his profile =(. Probably because he has to make a post.

 

Eh. 17,316 members...

Thats what I am saying - There is way more members then 17,316

You haven't taken into account a few things. There's a lot of accounts that people try to sign up that fail or get deleted or banned. Each registration ID is unique, so every attempt to register and go through the reg system increments the ID number by one.

 

At any time there are around 200-1000 accounts or so awaiting validation. Sometimes people enter the wrong email address, sometimes they have a spam/av filter that junks the bvoard emails.

 

Hence member ID number doesn't directly tally with the number of people that have registered and are validated and active.
