Getting better all the time...

How things have changed! When i started reading up on airsoft the newest gun was the Tokyo Marui M203 and the TOP M60. By god things have moved on fast... Everything seems, just "better" if that makes sense?

There's AEGs with spring release catches, CNC gearboxes, quick change springs, recoiling bolts, split gearboxes even a mechanical 3 round burst at long last. The Tokyo Marui type 89 even has magazines that feed every last BB in the mag. M4's are no longer limited to taking silly 600mAh batteries. The "moscart" grenade now exists, something that just wasn't around a while back. "Green Gas" is now Propane. "Airsoft Guide" DVD's (amongst others), forums, various airsoft magazines have taught 'softers how to repair their own guns, rather than relying on airsoft technicians at shops. Theres even an airsoft magazine on sale to the general public....

Airsoft guide has now gone from being a very thin, slightly boring, overpriced magazine, to an exciting read, with long, interesting reviews bursting out of the pages.

Hell even TM GBBs have got better. I've allways stayed away from them because they seem a little fragile to me. But now the TM sig sauer 226, M1911A1 and hicappa series are some of the best GBBs around, if not THE best. Not just that, GBBs are getting cheaper. The KWA G19 was the first of many of the cheap series of GBBs, that are actually worth having. Now HFC and others have followed suit. It's happening with AEG's too. For the price of a plastic AEG, its now possible to buy high end metal bodied AEG's.

Bolt action sniper rifles used to be either utter rubbish, or silly money. Now with the TM G Spec and even the UTG master sniper, pretty much anyone can buy one. UTG themselves have brought decent AEGs at prices that even the youngest airsofters can buy.

VCR bill or not Airsoft has just got much bigger. I didn't see it happening, but looking back it's just gone through the roof. Take this for example:

An article by an arnies guy, wanting an M14 5 years ago. Now look around. Every sod has one, with three companies making them... tongue.gif (STAR, G&G, TM)

When did this all happen? We went from having little to having everything. It started with the TM M4...but where will it end? Now, everyone badger TM to make the Browning High Power! biggrin.gif
