Slight update, turns out the full production Inconel muzzle brakes are silver, not black.

DNTC doesn't make comps, Primary Weapon Systems does. I own an FSC556, it's quite nice, but I wanted to give the Tripple Tap break a try.

Correct, it'd fit an NT4 if I ever get one. The inconel model is the only one made, the machining involved is why the cost is so high. I didn't pay this, but they list for 437.00 dollars, and were all snapped up in a short 100 unit pre-order.

This count as KAC gear? I snagged a real one today, after waiting a few months on a pre-order list. i.e the 5.56 tripple tap assembly brake.

Probably not, the SR15 is really the only lower that requires this mod. I actually talked to Costa about this mod, and he agreed the QD points weren't really designed by operators, but rather by engineers. No matter how you cut it, their placement is goofy, so getting the ASAP on lets me install a real sling mount.

I didn't pay 2800, not anywhere that high. From what Kevin Boland @ KAC told me when setting up my return today, was that a few dozen rifles slipped out with really bad quality control. They're going to just replace the whole rifle most likely. Also I just got done grinding down the ASAP to work: I'm having it sandblasted and parkerized this week. End result should look factory new.

Not going to use a ghetto fix on a premium firearm.

Yep, on my real KAC-SR15, which is officially heading BACK to Titusville to be replaced. I hate my luck with new guns!

Surprisingly the real flip up BUIS is a little umm...odd. It's not bad, but not great either. I found today under rapid fire the two screws that hold the URX lower rail in almost fell out of the gun. Some red-loctite fixed that quick.

I actually talked to Travis Haley about this issue, and he said that they don't run the KAC lowers, but the easiest solution was to cut the wings off. They sent me 2 ASAPs to slice up, so I'll do that modification today. In fact if you look at Costa's gun he's using the prototype for this very same reason.

Being real helps the realism. lol Umm, Yeah kinda along the lines of Costa's. But I'm not using black furniture, nor a FUG. And I'll use a 51-tooth blackout flashhider eventually.

Would this fit in the KAC thread? Only changes I'm making are ditching the TD SCAR panels. Using KAC FDE ones on the left and right, and using magpul black ladder panels underneath fore and aft of the stubby grip. Probably going to add an AAC flashhider as well.

They do have a little bit of the AOTTC thing going on in 'em. But you can't throw a carbine far enough to NOT hit a similar setup with those guys. Even my KAC gun will look a bit like Travis' rifle. Speaking of which, magpul is actually sending me a few 'donor' ASAP plates for me to chop up to fit on the KAC gun. If you've seen the KAC's odd QD swivel'd lower then you'll know exactly what the problem is.
