I figured there's probably enough rifles out there now which follow the new standard and I'm also really not a fan of Grip-Pods, so I thought I'd stick to the legacy colour for plastic furniture on L85s.

Weighs a *fruitcage* ton, but given the barrel length, the improved ergonomics gained by using the rail and the myriad features of the optic, I'm quite happy with that. The only thing I'd really like to do is sort out a wider/padded sling, the sling points on the ICS are particularly narrow (even more so than those on the real weapon) which makes it rather awkward.

  2. I understand its not an impression, but you can atleast think of it from a logical, practical standpoint. And that not logical nor practical in any way I can see. Unless you are 100% ambidextrous I cant see that working very well.

Why not think about the fact he's tried various different configurations already and settled on that one his own reasons?

Try actually having a proper look at that setup. By the time he's put both of those double pouches next to each other the very rear pair of magazines are going to be somewhere around near his spine, how is that practical for reloads? The vast majority of people that use chest rigs, PCs and vests run their magazine pouches right across the front exactly as House has done there, works fine for all those people. Back in the days of ALICE and PLCE that's exactly how everyone used to carry their magazines, worked fine then as well.

  3. That was one of the big things that kept them from popularity initially, too many range commandos complained they were hard to put on.

Says a lot about range commandos really. The only part I've found a bit awkward has been getting the free end to finally secure in to the locking piece, but end of the day, it takes you 5-10 minutes to get things setup and then you get dozen/hundreds/thousands of hours use from the thing. I don't see how anyone can think that's not worth a little bit of effort at the beginning.

  4. Heh! Some of you might not understand but it just infuriates me because its my work and its been stolen. I took my time to write that and someone just copies it...and submits it with their name attached to it. What a D-bag thing to do.

That really is a properly *suitcase* thing to do. Have you contacted WGC? Because that's just not on.

  5. Interesting notes there guys, good info.

Ex: I actually noticed a similar thing myself when I first unpackaged the FH. I like to generally get a feel of any metal product I buy so I know what to expect from it while in use, so I handled it and gave one of the prongs a flick with my finger nail, and as you say, produced a fairly long resonating tone (for such a small object that is). I would presume this is a combination of the high quality material used and the fact that the ends are not encircled as with your standard AR/L85 birdcage or other similar designs of hider. The design leaves the ends of the prongs free to vibrate slightly when impacted.

  6. Nice, very nice. Getting primary mags, secondary mags, comms, greandes and hydro all on there just shows what can be done even with a fairly slim chest rig.

Looked at those Source 1Ls many a time, definitely going to pick one up whenever I get around to putting a chest rig together.
