  1. BaBaBooey has a good point, if you can try the E2 out, it is a cracker and deal with a few of the inherent issues that the older TM P226 had.

However when I say 'issues' I mean things that aren't really issues, but things you might notice. It is not like the slide suddenly flows off and starts eating people or something like that :P.

  2. Someone mentioned to me they had pretty bad gas efficiency, is there any truth in this?

    Nope.

They are about as gas efficient as any other Marui from out of the box. The magazines may split under highter pressure if you are a bit daft and threaded the long screw that runs through the magazine but other than that they are fine enough.

As for the holster I know it fits a Fobus and have seen one fit a SERPA without issue but the Fobus can be a tough loose (then again they are loose on my 1911s too say maybe it is a Fobus design?).

  3. Anyways, what's that on the floor in front of you?

Your pic is broken, young padawan.

And that is probably the top of one of the more expensive one use pyro we had on the day. That area was littered with far too many bits of pyro by days end as it was the first defendable position from out the gate.

  4. While had another few clacks away with mine and the gun seems to be fine, nothing looks out of place at all.

But then I seem to have some stupid affinity with TM pistols, seriously. I never seem to get matching issues to what other people get.

Saying that if my M&P third magazine arrives by tomorrow then I might take it to a Tuesday night indoor event and see how it goes, as it will easily see a couple hundred rounds at this place.

  5. I don't seem to recall a big puff of gas. Was playing an indoor night game in total darkness mind...

As above to early to say is the vfc is Better.

Just need some UK stockists of the magazine's

Try Fire Support? That is where I got mine.

  6. The nozzle I've just attacked with a bit of silicone and it's returning as it should

Did you get a nice big puff of gas before the nozzle started sticking like a sod? If so then lubing it and jacking it a bit will help as it is something that I have seen quite a bit when I start using any pistol too hard and fast.

Either way I just shot mine on some Ultra with the little slide catch blockers that TM give you with pistol now. I know it feeds fine and the blowback does seem rather powerful once it gets going, again quite close to my 1911s and less like a Glock.

As for VFC over TM well I don't think there are that many VFC owners on here, a few but not many. As for the TM I am sure I for one will be getting it out and about once my third mag turns up.

  7. Well just carry less mags? I mean do you really need every single shot you fire? :P

I know that for the average short indoor game 70-80 is enough for me and that is three M&P mags or four 1911 mags (I only load those to 20, not 25-26). :D

  8. I am thinking of simply going to a game with my generic pop flap mag pouches and running one gun for one game and the other for the next, just constantly changing out guns after each game.

As I always carry my pistol in my hand the holster isn't a problem. I will work this out somehow.

  9. That is becoming me issue as I like the M&P as the kind of 'best striker' but I still want to use my 1911s too so might have to do a 'this week you can come with us to a game' thing or just man up and take both :D.

Damn it, now I want to go home and testfire it some more.

  10. Well I go for the Ultra all year round option (mostly as I buy in bulk sometimes as it is cheaper) and the only gun I wouldn't dare to use it in is my PPK/S.

Saying that I do run TM 1911s, a design that seems to be near indestructible some times, maybe I am used to that.

Either way gun has been added to my list and I now need to get that third mag and go shoot the thing. Glad that new indoor sites are opening and running nearby :).

  11. I just had a thought.

Given that the M&P9 has similar style and ease of grip as the Glock it may be that the M&P9 whould have the somewhat lackluster kick of the TM Glock.

However the larger cylinder gives it something more in line with the 1911 / Hi-Capa. Maybe that means for the style of gun the kick is a touch too hard for the likes of Green and Ultra?

Might just be me hypothesising but I will find out at some point when I do shoot it and it goes bang on Ultra, but I feel that might be a long, long way off.

  12. Could have been that then.

I did test temperature variations at one point with a stodgy old TM 1911. Had a jump of 15fps purely due to the fact the mag was almost like body heat to the touch.

Still getting my hands used to it. I think even with the smaller backstrap the gun was designed for a larger hand than mine.

  13. Had nothing like that and no inclination for it to do so and I have already put a good 50 shots through it with both mags, all on Ultra, some blank fire, others with ammo loaded.

Time will tell but so far it seems happy enough on Ultra with me.

    'FireKnife'

  14. Huh, then perhaps mine isn't quite right as I would say it is about the same as a TM 1911 but returns to battery that bit faster,

That is using Ultra in both guns with mags being stored in the same cupboard, not in pouches.

    Also look ma', no safety:

It is a bit stiff to cock but once cocked racking it is fine and dandy. However when I say stiff I wouldn't really have noticed unless it was pointed out, it isn't that bad.

So just a quick sum up:

Pros are the feel, looks, trigger (just envelopes the finger perfectly), fake brass in the port, trigger response, snappiness and general kick from firing.

Cons are the safety (relatively easy to remove), the left slide release doesn't really work, pinned magazines.

All in all a lovely little typical modern day striker with lost of lovely looks and parts. The safety clicks into place well but is in the way for me but is easy enough to get out. I can see this sticking with me but first I need to give it a full game and for that I might need more than just two magazines.

  15. Imagine Sheryl Crow singing that 0_0

I was more thinking of the drunk bloke on Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere that is singing about his vasectomy, either way it would be funny.

Also not long until I get to go home and have a right good fiddle with my weapon. Will have it not too stiffy and shooting the white pellets soon enough.
