  1. There has been a bit of discussion about this already. If you look through some of the older posts you'll find some info.

Junior has done a review of it too. The general opinion doesn't seem to be all that great.

  2. I don't really have that much experience with standard metal Glock slides. I really love the Avalon steel slide that I am currently using on my G17. My only complaint about it is that the trades are not quite deep enough. Also, based on how good my Guarder steel G26 slide is I would guess that the Guarder steel slide for the G17 would be my first pick of a slide if someone where to give me any one that I chose. If monay permits I would like to pick one up for testing.

The things that I like about the steel slides are; the added weight (It makes that gun feel more realistic and hefty as well as giving it more kick), the nice finish (nothing feels more like steel than steel, no pot metal or aluminum can match it), accuracy of materials (Glocks are steel slided), and fit (at least in my case the steel slide is much tighter than say the Guarder slide that I currently have).

Thanks Romulus, some good info there :)

  3. The slide is average. For the price of the full tune up kit it's quite reasonable.

Honestly though, nothing beats the feel of steel Glock slides in my opinion.

Thanks for that. Can I ask what would you recommend for a good quality black TM Glock slide?

  4. What do you think of the slide Rom? It looks OK.

Im picking up a TM Glock soon to compare it with the KSC and Im on the look out for a good quality slide. I've been leaning towards the PGC metal slide (I just want plain black at the moment)

Im definitely going to get one of the Guarder frames though.

  5. i did not take it in a bad way. on the other forum i made a joke bout it. thanks for the info as well .

The actual paintjob looks good but perhaps you could be a bit more random when selecting the areas for artificial wear.

There are some excellent pictures in this thread of both artificial and natural wear that might give you some inspiration.

You could maybe try looking for some pictures of real M4s to see where natural wear most commonly occurs also but to be honest artificial wear can be tricky to achieve but with practice Im sure you'll get it right.

  6. I will be getting my hands on a TM Glock 17 shortly but I was wondering if someone could tell me who makes the best metal slide for this pistol?

Im looking for just a plain black standard looking slide but as I am only familiar with KSC Glocks Im not too sure where to start and I would like to order the slide soon.

    Thanks.

  7. Thanks for that link.

I didn't know anyone was making those. What other people were doing is buying the real steel Wilson Combat bumpers but the ones you linked to would be much easier.

I've never seen them on any UK or HK websites though which is a shame.

  8. Thanks for that info mate, it really is a great looking pistol.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the Pachmayrs, I think they would look great.

Did you glue the magazine bumper to the bottom of the TM mag? I know a few other members have done this and drilled a hole in the bumper for the fill valve.

  9. I'm very pleased with my Guarder frame. Seems to have good trades (unlike pro arms). It was a drop in fit (just swapped over the bits. I have since had RSP do some major rebuilding but the thing is still sound and looks even better. A good upgrade in my opinion.

My only major realism gripe is that the seams aren't nearly as pronounced as the RS version I recently handled. In other words, it needs bigger seams.

Thanks for that info Romulus :D

  10. They do not, although factory ones can be polished without removing the Tenifer coating [a bit silly though and goes dull]. The only silver ones I'm aware of for real Glocks are Caspian, Lone Wolf, and modified versions of the original Glock slides or of either of those two mentioned, such as the Shuey slides. [Or Shuey might make some of his own slides, not sure.]

    Brilliant.

Thanks for answering my question RSP.

  11. Probably a stupid question but do Glock make their own silver slides for aftermarket sales or is it just other manufacturers?

I've looked at many of the major real steel Glock retailers but I've never found a silver slide actually made by Glock.

Not a huge deal I was just curious really.

    Ta.
