For all functional purposes I think they're identical. The tabs on the back and the overall change in profile is likely to ease or speed up installation in the factory and/or decrease cost.

Looking good Johny! Thanks for the compliments. I owe it to Raven1 for introducing me to the platform. How does that clubfoot fit?

Saftey is of course a legitimate concern and one we aren't taking lightly. Again, this must be factored into the cost of business by operating here in the US. While Eastern companies may be able to churn out die cast (and I believe often dangerous) magazines will little to no fear of being persecuted in case of injury, I am not so sheltered from such events. The magazines will be hyrdostatically or water jacket tested as well. They will have FEA analysis performed prior to any tooling or testing. Quality, Saftey, and Legality will ALL be addressed before we send ANYTHING to ANYBODY.

The best course would be to make a new body that takes RS threaded buffer tubes. Buffers and springs would be easy to find.

Thats right. This WILL NOT be available on Jan 1. We are really really trying to get them out by March.

They well may be suitable. Our first objective is to get the regular 30 round mags to market as they are in higher demand. The reservoirs on our mags are larger than the KJW mags. I estimate theyll hold enough for 200-225 shots per fill at 70 deg F. Capacity is 50 rounds.

I guess there is no point in turning this thread into a never ending guessing game. We are currently developing a magazine system which will allow the user to place them in both RS pmag and stanag shells, which will be available through us. We have some neat features in the works for these that I think we will all be glad to see.

Thats certainly possible. I think Ill set up the page so you can select a few standard lengths/styles for those who may not know what they need numerically as well as a custom length option. For now people will have to enter the exact length they want in the paypal special instructions.

The site will be revised by Jan. 1, 2010 with a few new changes. -Two new products: 1. Detent protector - $15 2. Tightbore barrels in 6.03mm from madbull stock. These are made to order in any length you want. - $40 (We are working on sourcing our own stock in 6.01 right now as well). -Installation videos for each product -Higher quality and more detailed descriptions and pictures of each product -Its also quite possible that at that date Ill release a few details as to our next big project. Currently we have and industrial designer and two mechanical engineers worki

If you are referring to the piston as Kevorkian suggest then, no, I havent ever seen a plastic one. Ive seen two versions of the metal one but not plastic.

Plastic bolt? As in the bolt carrier itself? As far as I know they all have metal bolt carriers.

Looks to me like it should work. Best to get a second opinion though. Raven?

Looks to me like that was custom made or engraved by the owner. I wouldn't expect those bodies to come out at your local retailer.

The modification the the bolt carrier involves shortening the lower rear portion of the carrier (where the detent pin slided through) to match the length of the upper rear portion. By doing this the auto sear wont be engaged by the carrier. This is how its done on the RS as well. A quick search around the internet for "AR Bolt Carrier" and "Full auto M16 Bolt Carrier" should bring up pictures of both and you can compare the difference there. Ill try to post a picture later today with some markings on it to illustrate the operation more clearly.
  15. Can someone take some detail shots of the piston with the undersized hole? Depending on complexity I may be able to machine a few of these that can accept AEG springs.

Yes they are. Forgot to include that vital bit of info

As far as the locking back question: 1. Do you have the new buffer and buffer spring from KJW? This only applies if your gun has a serial number on the mag well. Some say these parts help with reliability of the bolt stop function. 2. At near freezing temps your recoil is going to suffer as the propane will not expand as rapidly. Cold temps + cooldown = ocassional failure to lock back. AFAIK, there isnt a whole lot we can do at this point to combat this given the very nature of using propane as a propellant.

Good to hear install went smoothly. Remember to keep your o-ring lubed well. In really cold temps I've found the lube helps as the rings can sometimes harden up slightly during long auto bursts.

Could possible be lube affecting his accuracy. Its hard to tell how well people treat or maintain their guns. I wouldnt worry. Range Report: Today Raven1 and I got together for some accuracy testing and compared the stock KJW barrel to a TB. Testing conditions: 48 deg F. Propane .25g Echo 1 BBs Shots were made in a supported position. Range was 20m Each round was 10 BBs Stock KJW results: Round 1: Overall grouping size is approximately 8 inches with the majority of shots within a 6 inch circle. Round 2: Overall grouping size is approximately 8 inches wi

I believe Raven1's is actually a Classic Army model and engaged the mags very well.

Raven1 has installed and uses both. They both work well. I'm sure he can field specific questions.

Not sure Ill pursue that one. There are plenty of videos out there of guys shooting their GBBs in water. Its possible. Not too great on the internals but it works.
