There's not much i can say at this point (other than my first impressions, which are that it is all kinds of awesdome!), they arrived in Denmark just yesterday, so i've only really tried shooting her at 10 meters range, and admire the build quality. It's a gorgeous replica though, and she was clocked at 134 M/s from the factory, and from the little target shooting i did, the accuracy seems very promising, it was a long wait, but it seems the RS was well worth it. Also, remember that google translator can turn Spanish into something that's allmost legible

And now for something compleately different: Снайперская Винтовка Драгунова с установленным ПОСП 2.5–5x24 прицелом. Yup, tis the RealSword SVD, and the scope is a real steel POSP 2.5-5x24, Urrraah!!
  3. I find it pretty sad the Casyopea's got banned, the argumentation for it was just silly.. name just one thing in this world that woulden't become dangerous if you fill it up with gunpowder I wish i had gotten a full metal SAA whilst i could, but still, since they got banned, it woulden't have been a big plus, as spare parts and new shells are going to be impossible to come by soon enough.
  4. Not a review as such, but i posted some usefull info here about the 09 AKM, which should hopefully tide you over for now And a very nice gun + accesories you've got there joeshred
  5. Thanks, and aye, it's allmost painfull to see how much heart and effort you are pouring into that gorgeous Beryl, and knowing you are forced to base it on a potmetal body.. you guys need and LCT importer, STAT! But still, that Beryl of yours is putting many guns here to shame, it's just custom goodness from butt to muzzle I have the same problem with mags though, ohh how i wish i could convert some RS mags, but the law here is even stricter on spare mags than it is actual firearms, and there is zero tollerance, even though they would be totally deactivated after beeing converted to Air
  6. Stuff came, things where unpacked and assembled, here's pictures! My AKM got an overhaul, all new LCT 09 AKM front, and an RPK rear sight for windage goodness, reciver is still AIMS with RS stock and grips on there: The MD-90 got the planned updates, new pistol and front grips, though the pistol grip is not as red as i had thought, but it still looks good: The Khyper got some upgrade parts too, replacing the old Guarder bits with newer and more accurate LCT ones, and a scope mount: AKS-74N added for good measure and great justice, RS wood as allways:
  7. A very nice Beryl jonboy2312. Its a shame Canadian import restrictions are getting in your way, i'd love to see what you could do if you had first choice of all the parts you could want
  8. Can't really see enough of the guns there to be sure, but yes, thouse front grips look Airsoft (not so much the material, that could be the camera, but how snugly the upper and lower fits, there's usually a very visible gap on the real grips). Besides, thouse 47's look to be in mint condition, and dusting up a mint condition 47 thease days is no easy task (lest its a semi-only civie model like a SAM-7).
  9. This should give you some idea: Is that a replica Kobra!? if so, its about time! maybe then we'll see more Russian optics on AK's an less Hamburger ones. Anyway, no, you cannot fold the triangle stock with any optics mounted on the side rail, this has allways been a problem with the Russian folders (both the downfolders and the left-folders). The best folding stock for optics is the Coathanger stock, as it folds to the right, but it cannot be mounted on the AKS-74U.
  10. Yeah, the battery is allways the big problem with an RPK.. Danish power levels beeing what they are, i'm not keen on using normal Airsoft wood grips and stocks, the wood is too soft and they get damaged much too easy by M120 powered guns, hence i use RealSteel which are made of a much harder wood sort. But fitting and hollowing out a real RPK stock sounds like a right nightmare, so that leaves me with the stick type batts regardless (and then why not get a folding stock?), or some external solution (which is ugly), and i would need a gun like this to run an M130 or M140 spring for it to b
  11. @ mightyjebus: Very nice romy RPKS, how is she working out for you? i've been thinking about making one aswell, but it's not a cheap build, so i'd be interested in anything you can tell me about yours
  12. It's a little confusing, because they where both called an "AIMS" i belive, the old model had the underfolder and back leaning grip, the newer models the coathanger and the forward leaning grip. If there is any official designation that sepperates the two models, then i don't know it, i have allways seen both models called "AIMS".
  13. Aslong as its a full LCT kit, then yes, you just need the gearbox, inner barrel and hopunit from the TM, the LCT has everything else. But parts wont just mix and match beyond that, you can't install a TM front on an LCT reciver for instance, they are assembled in compleately different ways. Though they do make a few parts for a TM, look for "For TM AK" or similar in the product name if thats what you need.
  14. Looking good there Fido.. and the mags too, now thats going all the way!
  15. Well yeah, i'm a bit of a geek aren't i The only problem with making a gun like that, and calling it an Arsenal SLR-107UR, is the lack of trademarks, Arsenal's have a lot of text ingraved on the left side of the reciver, and it would probably cost a fair bit to have thouse made. But Khyberpass recivers are becoming fairly popular, a few American companies make them now, either as a finished product, or needing assembly and an origional front trunion and stock to complete it. So, a real gun looking like this is not impossible, the parts to make them do exist, its just.. an unlikely
  16. Nah, it could just be called a modded SLR-107UR
  17. Well, what's not to like? its an AKM with all the tasty goodness that comes with that, paired with a coathanger, which is probably the best of the AK folding stocks Though i'm still unsure what to call it.. the real MD-90 does look like this, it was basically a civilian version of the AIMS with a normal AKM style front grip, however, mine is not semi-only, and it has Russian markings and a scope mount, so its more an AKMN with an aftermarket stock fitted really, but calling it that is a bit of a mouthfull.
  18. Certainly, on the real uppers you only see the laminate at the very bottom of the grip as a slight variation on colour, so its no big deal. Besides, if we want to get really nerdy about this, we could also complain that the lower only has the layers going one way, instead of changing direction at the base.. but really, its a cheapsoft, holding it to such high standards seems rather unreasonable This is a tad more unfortunate, as its a lot more noticeable than a solid upper, and an error that could easilly have been avoided by CYMA with a little research.. still, its no disaster
  19. Nope, its all laminated on the real ones, sadly, this latest CYMA also has incorrect front grips (they are 1985-1986 style AK-74 grips, not AKM grips).
  20. Yeah that was the first model, with plastic grips, that was a TM clone, and people have had quite a few problems with them. To their credit, the later CA models with wood grips are better, both internally and externally, and are based on the LCT/Inokatsu system, but.. they are not that cheap, spending a little more will get you a propper LCT and it is just flat out better.
  21. The CA's are not worth it, they are 90% LCT clones, assembled in exactly the same way, but, they are not fully LCT compatible (their barrels, and also barrel trunions/Frontsight/Gaschamber are thinner), and they don't have all the innovations of the LCT's, for instance, there is no hole drilled in the barrel to assemble the front sight, its just held on like that gaschamber is, it comes with an ugly TM-style bolt carrier (made exactly the same way, just uglier, much like the ones on early black CYMA BC's), the top-cover is just painted black, and the the rest of the guns finish is nowhere near
  22. Lets stop this now, this is not the thread for it, if you want to we can continue this elsewhere, and i'll gladly argue with you some more, just not here. Russian RPK's used the smooth cover, but some Eastblock copies did use the ribbed one, i have seen them on Romy's for instance. I'd go with the LCT ones, 'tis steel, they look good, and you can buy them sepperately.
  23. Not really, no, to make a good support weapon you need a few things: A big magazine. A more powerfull spring, i'd go with M130 or above. A reasonably long barrel. Atleast a 7mm Gearbox filled with strong hi-quality internals. As much battery as you can get, with as much voltage as you can get. Thing is, drum mags and all the other things that go with the territory of a support weapon are fairly heavy, you will get your posteriour handed to you on a platter if you try to use them in CQB, what you really need is to put some range between you and the target, and be able to pepper them
  24. No, the AKM is 7.62x39mm, its the 74 series that made the switch to 5mm (5.45x39mm, not the NATO 5.56x45mm).
