The foregrip modification was quite extensive but it's rock solid now. The new CA MP5s use a faux bolt that opens when you cock the gun, which lets them use an AK style hop up unit which is MILES ahead of the old TM style unit, but for some silly reason they kept the mountings on the cocking tube for the old MP5 hop unit in case you wanted to use a shittier hop up. Said mountings required grinding off as they interfere substantially with the fit of the wood foregrip.

Internally, it's one of the new CA MP5s, so it came with a 9mm QSC gearbox with a bore up kit as standard, Deans connectors with a mosfet included.

Bore up kit was overkill for a 229mm inner barrel and the mosfet was ok but wouldn't fit well in the wood stock.

In the end, I redid the wiring to leave a deans connector in the front, hidden under the cocking tube, with a 3034 based MOSFET in the back behind the gearbox, so if she wants to switch back to the flashlight foregrip and sliding stock for CQB games, all she needs to do is push out two pins, take the stock and grip off, switch the power connectors in the rear to the front wiring, then pop the sliding stock and foregrip on.

Lonex 6.03mm tightbore, flat hopped, m-nub installed, Lonex cylinder head, piston head, CYMA FMR piston with AOE adjustment, SHS 13:1 gears short-stroked by 3 teeth, M120 spring, SHS Neo 16tpa motor. On a 11.1v stick that fits in the stock, it does 1.1J @ 33-35rps and can fling a 0.28g bb out to 60m.

And, as is traditional with all the guns I build for other people, the first game day it gets taken out, she shot me with it, right in the throat at 50m. -_-

  3. That hop up unit looks to be a Prime WA to AEG conversion unit that's had the outside machined down a bit.

Still very disappointing to see how this is performing poorly and breaking down so often. The huge inconsistency in full auto is also pretty inexcusable.

  4. Hello, well, I get back my P90, I was frustrated to fail to solve its problems. So in order:

-Mag gas leak: fixed again, not used without grease during more than one year, bad for o-ring.

-Gas tank leak: happened today, will fix it easily

    -Double feed: already fixed

    -No feed: already fixed

-Trigger pressure: fixed by sanded the trigger bar (I have the z-parts parts installed)

-Full auto instead of semi: fixed by adjust the trigger bar extremity

-Low fps: fixed by using another nozzle and cuted little lugs inside the nozzle, now 370fps instead of 300fps

-Bad range: fixed thank to the new velocity, but not amazing (around 40-45m)

-Bad accuracy: not fixed, and I don't know how to increase it :(

=> For this problem, I use a Modify hop-up rubber and for the nub, a lollipops rod. To resume, when I shoot, one bb go straights, the other up, the other down, left, right, left, up, etc etc...

    Why does it happen???

Sounds like you didn't replace the stock WE barrel? The newer WE GBB barrels and hopup rubbers have different internal measurements than TM (and old WE) GBB spec, but have the same external measurements.

What this means is that it's possible to install a TM spec hop up rubber on a WE spec barrel, which leaves a small gap inside that can't be seen from the outside - causing issues like the ones you describe.

Either stay with the WE spec barrel and hop up rubber or get a new barrel to go with your hop up rubber. Mapleleaf's new 'Crazy Jet' barrels are good, I hear.

  5. The T-1 is a nasty knock-off since I don't have a mount for my real one, but other than that, this thing is actually 'done' externally.  I'll have to get better pictures some time once the optic's sorted, but I wanted to get some out there now sine it took so damn long to fully-BCM it.  I had the KMR on there aaages ago and the other accessories were fairly random, but when Dytac brought out their pistol grips I figured hey let's go for it.  Sourcing the newer style stock, KeyMod bits and the right replica compensator from all over the damn planet took a while but it's by far my best handling AEG now.

    Das vewy nice

  6. Harrington & Richardson T223 (early HK33) as used by SEALs on a limited basis in Vietnam.

    Classic Army CA33 base gun.

I'd frigging murder for some 40rnd magazines to cut up and fit to my HK33.

  7. "configurable burst mode - from 1 up to 255 BBs shot on one quick trigger pull, this setting works in all modes containing burst"

Just what i needed, 255rnd burst setting.

What we have here is known as a 'target-rich environment'...

  8. Oh my! that's a real bummer, to be honest, after some experiences with ASCUs, I am abit concerned with reliability, are these new units bad?

I have seen 4 of the 'blue' units fail, and 1 of the 'red' units.

That being said, the 'red' unit only came out a month or so before I left HK. The bigger issue is that you can't switch the gearbox out for different shell which takes standard switches.

  9. The ARES integral mosfets are a bit hit and miss. I've seen some conk out and burn up with stock internals and standard buffer tube 7.4v and 11.1v lipos.

On the other hand, I've also seen someone running a DSG set up with one and not have any issues.

And yes, before the comments, this is with the newer 'blue' and 'red' mosfet units.

  10. Maybe I'm a bit late to the VZ.58 party, but I fancy one of the short CQB ones and I'm looking for some stock performance (OOTB) reviews or if getting to the hop chamber to change buckin/barrel is easy as in an AK (E&L)

Do you recommend the short version even for outdoors? I mean, 40m to 45m human size accuracy

    Thanks

I've built MP5ks with 110mm inner barrels that can manage 40m minute-of-torso accuracy at 1.2J.

    It should be fine.

  11. Tiny amount of distortion / magnification, noticeable tint, and the refresh rate of the reticle is somewhat low, so when you move around really quickly, you perceive a trail of the reticles. Can't say more than that as I haven't gamed with it yet, but I suspect it will be perfectly adequate.

Ohnoes, is it one of those PK-23 esque blinking dots? They really hurt my eyes after a while.
