  1. Question for you owners - what holsters do you use?

I was interested in a SERPA, but a few RS users told me the SERPA at least for the 5-7 sucked. I might look for a Safariland, but they're very expensive :(

I'm on a serpa. I find serpas to be great & have them for all the pistols I skirmish.

I use Kings Arms & Viper pistol mag pouches. No problems. The mags look big, as the bullet length is long compared to a 9mm. However, they aren't particularly wide, if you get my drift, so fit most cordura mag pouches.

  2. Reply to myself, yes springs need to be upgraded! Fitted the reinforced nozzle and the gun fired brilliantly until it stopped when the two cylinder return springs were CRUSHED!

Does anyone know where I can buy return cylinder return springs (part 24)?

They don't need to be 'upgraded', just fitted correctly.

The readyfighter nozzle lacks the notches on the spring retaining posts & the springs slide off, causing the 'crushing' you have experienced.

To save you wading through this thread, fixes include, cutting the notches in, super glue, crimping the spring ends to the post or a mixture of all 3.

Back when I experienced the problem, Den Trinity & Readyfighter both had springs.

  3. Anyone Tried to etch in another position on the stock ?

I find my stock too long if it was only 5cm shorter it would be fantastic

the stock is longer than a G36 stock

    Yup.

I just used a hacksaw & a file to cut new notches in, about 40mm shorter than the standard position. Work took about 20 mins & turned out fine. I have done this a few times now, on 2 Maruis & my ksc.

  4. I'm getting much lower gas efficiency now, I've noticed, and I'm not sure why.

When I first got it, in the depths of winter (it was snowing as I was shooting) I was getting at least 3 mags from one fill. Now, for some reason, I'm lucky to get more than 2, and it's warmer. I've given the release valves and the piston cup some lube and I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Anyone got any ideas? What sort of gas efficiency are you lot getting?

I may be wrong (a long time since I did physics) but I think this is normal: When the gas is cooler, it has less pressure & will therefore take longer to release from it's container. Thus lower pressure gas (due to temperature or not)will give less fps but more shots.

Either way, like others, I only get one mag (40 rnds) per fill, what ever the temperature.

  5. Sorry to hear that Kruck - but at least RA Tech are good enough to replace them, as they have in my case. Of course, Greg's will still be going strong like his KSC nozzle did....and then break about three months after everyone else's ;)

    You're dead right! :D

As yet, no probs but having seen yours, I don't hold up hope for mine.

I think mine may be lasting longer because I very rarely use auto. Who knows.

One thing's for sure; having now written this, I guarantee it will go bang, the next time I use it.

    Greg.

  6. thats what ive done - wouldnt go in at all - ill try it again tomorrow with a freash head on :)

Like Kruck, I've done this a lot & it just seems to go in first time, every time. However, it was very fiddly the first few times.

    Don't panic!

As Kruck says, the trigger goes in last. I sort of insert it, compressing the return spring by pushing the pivot point toward the muzzle.

Shame you ain't closer to West London, you'd be welcome round the shed, it'd be done in a few minutes. ;)

Crimson will be happy to tell ya, how tricky it can be. We took it in shifts on one of his :D , sort of working on it until we got frustrated & swapping. Then, when I remembered the technique, it was in, within seconds.

  7. Quick poll - do most MP7 users use it as a backup weapon, or as a CQB primary?

I'm deciding right now whether or not to keep my MP7 as a backup or to switch to a pistol - the MP7 sometimes can get pretty heavy after a full day of carrying it in a dropleg holster.

    Primary, mainly cqb, 5 mags.

I haven't used it in woodland yet, as I prefer to snipe when I go out doors. This is why I plopped the 300mm barrel in & am working toward a 500fpser. ;)

Having said that, I think it would make a super 'outdoor' gun as it is in no way less accurate or out ranged by the aeg brigade. The only 'problem, is the low, ammo capacity, which can be a bit daunting, (for some) when faced with 500rnd hi-cap hosers.

    Greg.

  8. The 200mm (not 220) barrel that I have been fitting, is a slightly modified TN, 6.04x200mm Berreta Auto 9 barrel, available from WGC for $25.

I've adapted & fitted 5 of them now & the results have been surprisingly similar: +40 on the fps. I'm afraid I've not done any accuracy comparisons but it seems similar or slightly better than the stock 160mm barrel.

It does not need a silencer, as it fits within the flash hider, with about 10mm to spare. It needs a little bit of 'file' work at the hop end & a new retainer notch. If you have a steady hand & a small file, it should take about 20 minutes to copy the original. It definitely represents the cheapest way to currently get a precision barrel into a gas MP7.

I recently tested Crimson's Edgi 6.01x200mm which at 20m halved the group size & added 20fps over stock.

I have an Edgi 6.00x300mm, which adds about 80fps over stock. Again, I have not tested this for accuracy, although it seems as good as the stock one, easily giving 8" groups at 50m, with sgms, green & a chrono reading of around 450fps @ 17 degrees C. It does need a silencer to shroud it, sticking about 100mm proud. ;)

    Greg.

  9. Got my KWA silencer adapter yesterday and tested it out with a TM tracer unit (G1). Quite a giggle, should be fun at a night game with the extra clatter!

It looks even better in person than the pictures up on their site!

It didn't need boring out or re cutting the threads or anything?

    Greg.

  10. Spotted a silencer adapter up for sale, http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ready-fighter-silencer-adaptor-for-ksc-kwa-umarex-mp7-14mm-cw.html and yes it was less than a day after I put an order in for some other parts.

    This item am poopest! :(

I got mine yesterday & was not impressed.

First disappointment was that it's non ferrous & gives the impression of being very fragile. Not good as this is the interface between the front of the gun & the bit that sticks out & often gets knocked! Definitely not good, if you want to slap a right big silencer on it.

Then, the fact that both threads were damaged & needed cleaning up before it would screw onto the gun, or a silencer.

& wouldn't it have been a better move to make it CCW? The more popular silencer thread choice?

& finally, the bore was just shy of 8mm. Not good if you want to use this to 'shroud' an extended barrel, with an external diameter of, yes, you guessed it, 8mm! :D

So, I suggest that Ready Fighter have produced an unfinished product: If you want to use it at all, you will have to spend some 'file time', cleaning up the very delicate ally threads. & if you want to use it to shroud an extended barrel, you'll have to spend a little more time, with an 8mm drill.

Steer clear of this item, it's rubbish. Ready fighter came to our (KSC Jap owners) rescue with their reinforced nozzle but they have not done us proud with this very poor offering.

    Well done Ready Fighter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NOT! <_<

  11. 1, Elite Shooting center in the uk has npas in stock but does anyone know what version of the npas they have ?

As some appear to be working and others break after a few rounds ?

2, Greg- butler creak fitted fantastically to my micro aimpoint :)

1, Yup. Galactica may have more info on this, as his 'early' model broke. I believe he may have now got hold of the later version.

2, Good news, where did you source it & how much?

    Greg.

  12. Greg, My Taiwan with 220 6.00 Barrel Hits Around the 440's with .28's. My Accuracy is within 2 Inches of the Center Every time. I am Using a SANDED Tip of the RF Nozzle. Upgraded Recoil and Rocket Valve Spring and SD valve

    Best. NJ

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Please remind me, is yours a KSC Jap, or KWA? At what range are you achieving sub 2" groups? & what gas & ambient temperature did you have, when you took those chrono readings?

    Greg.

  13. Sweet so the 6.00 pushed the fps up way more than the 6.01

I think i may just get the same one you have my only issue is the weight of your one it looked much more heavier than the other ones

I don't think it's the bore mate. It's the length.

However, I was surprised that your 200x6.01mm only gave another 20fps. As said, the 200x6.04mm tn gave an extra 40fps in 3 different guns.

I wonder how the 200x6.04 would perform in yours. If we ever have a few hours to spare, we should give it a try.

    Greg.

  14. Does anyone know where they can get a Aimpoint T1 riser (just the riser) delivered to the uk ?

    Cheers

No idea but I got the one you saw on Thursday, from airsoft armory. I think they are Madbull & about £25.

An alternative idea would be to mount it on top of a lazermax 'rail laser' clone. Last time I checked, they had them at RSOV, 'A.C.M. compact red laser mount for railed pistol', you'll find them under 'laser aimers', aiming devices', for $16.99.

Like my 'madbull', they raise the sight above the pistol irons, about 11mm, not enough to co witness the flip ups.

BTW, fitted the 300mm to my KSC & got the power up to about 455. Accuracy was interesting: 10 shot group at 20m was 140mm. It's a bit windy out there right now, so I'm not sure this is a fair 'group'. Especially as the first 7 shots gave a group of 50mm. I suspect it got a little gusty for the last 3 shots.

This is promising, I look forward to getting a KWA Tai & plopping this barrel in. I'm guessing my 500fps, semi auto, compact sniper, could be a reality. :D

    Greg.

  15. 1, then why do Ready Fighter have this for the KWA: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Accessories_Enhanced_Loading_Muzzle_GBB_Ready_Fighter_Reinforced_Loading_Muzzle_for_KWA_MP7_only.htm

2, And also since the KSC TAIWAN version is the newest addition to the MP7 line up, I'm just asking which nozzle does it have, the KSC Japan type or KWA type? Have this been covered before?

1, Why don't you ask ready fighter? I suspect it's to cash in on folk who don't realise it's only the KSC Jap that fails & are stupid enough to blindly buy a replacement part, just because it's available. If you require more evidence of this, please, take the time look back through this thread. ;)

2, As just said, if you are unsure of my advice, have a look through the thread. However, I was working on a KSC Tiawan during the week (Barrel swap on 'Crimsons) & can confirm that it is the 'non-Jap' nozzle.

As said * please note, the thinner walled, fragile nozzle is deliberately used in only the KSC Jap version. This is to ensure that the 'Japanese' gun will not exceed stringent Japanese power legislation. At least not for long. :D

    Greg.

  16. sorry if this has been asked already but reading 58 pages takes a long time......which version (KSC or KWA Umarex) of the Ready Fighter reinforced nozzle/cylinder will fit the KSC Taiwan version. The Taiwan version has the KSC corp engraved on front of the foregrip. Also does the KSC Taiwan version having any nozzle/cylinder breakages? And when is the VFC suppressor coming out?

The Ready Fighter reinforced nozzle is intended for & only fits the KSC Japan version.

The KSC Japan version is the only one made with a week nozzle, which breaks, when used with green. It has thinner walls than the others & therefore a larger diameter piston cup. This means that it's nozzle is not compatible with the others & vice-versa.

Thus, the only option, is to replace it, with the ready fighter unit. Please note, that non-ksc Japs, DO NOT break, in conjunction with green & therefore, DO NOT require a reinforced nozzle. & I repeat, the Ready fighter reinforced unit does not fit any of the non-ksc Jap models.

Wading through the one million million million pages of this thread, you will probably only find this information, repeated about a million times. ;)

  17. an airsoft surgeon rocket valve for glocks would be the same?

or should i prefer an old black plastic standard glock valve?

I'd go with either but the plastic one is reported to break.

    Greg.

  18. Has a company released high-flow valves for the magazines yet?

Not specifically for the MP7. They wont need to, as they are the same valves, as used in other ksc guns such as the glock range.

As for purchasing 'hi flow' mag valves, the same effect can be obtained, by knocking the legs out of the originals with a Dremel or file..

    Greg.
