I do not see how not caring about details on AK has anything to do with SVD...
Especially when this SVD cloned RealSword on externals; real problem is material. ...And that horrible overpriced wood.

Even "collector" version with steel receiver will NOT have steel barrel; all other parts are same as aluminum receiver version(which means still many potmetal parts).
They are looking to release a "ultimate" edition.

I am not saying anyone is vastly inferior as person for owning weird AK.To be honest, this is airsoft at the end of the day, so If someone likes his AK magpulized because he likes it, lets let him be, If it works, more power to him. Again, airsoft is mostily playing with guns/gear we find "visually appealing".
That at least, is my way of thinking, although I have to admit AZN AK looks great
and I would do the same to classic guns like... a Tommy gunI am just saying it does not make sense to me to get all accesories made for AR15(and probably cost more than base gun) and put them onto AK. I am pretty sure even FSB do not go full-magpull.

It is not life-and-death in airsoft so whatever functionality added is not significant anyway.The point in magpulled AKs is to ad functionality you'd only get on an AR normally, and this being airsoft its not like it can get you killed if it doesn't work...
And in airsoft internals are mostly same between AK and M4; if AK does not work for someone...why AK in first place?

Gas rod is not simulated; it just happens to get pushed forward by force of bolt returning.
WE krapwood is going to be krap. Spending $100 extra for it is just outrageous.
Trigger box(the thing trigger guard is connected to) and top cover takedown latch should also be steel or WE is more retarded than I thought.
On tons of realsteel AK and SVD furnitures i have seen, none of them look as plastic as WE.
And I doubt some sandpaper and refinishing techinique will make wood laminated.
Imo, only realsteel furniture that is worse than WE is Bulgarian solid wood, and those still look better than WE.
WE could have just made plastic furniture in same shape as realsteel; then their SVD will be a TON better than it is now.
Too bad WE is all about being retarded at most inappropriate places.
Ready for last place, behind A&K, Classic Army, Cyma, and RealSword.that wood looks like it's made for a SVD beauty contest!

If you are talking about that guy with user name misha on R-A.keyboard warrior manchildren (mischa michailovich comes to mind) the site has amassed has done an awful lot of damage to it's reputation.
He does not frequent R-A much anymore and he sold most, if not all, his Russian stuff; now he is doing battlefield journalist impression.
I still remember one night when he went on a solo recon mission then later that night came back to help us against capitalist night attack...then walked off with two prisoners.
When you talk to him IRL, even though at that Op:EastWind(V) his character is a very-angry praporshik of some sort, he is a nice person.
I say that after living in Soviet camp for nine days even after he called my section(and other sections) up at 11p.m. for battle-readiness inspection WHILE IT WAS RAINING.
When you are on internet; you would not know someone's face or the tone he talks in(obviously because everyone is typing words into a little box), you get illusion that all comments that are even slightly negative is all insult directed towards you.
That is not the case; most of time. On internet; many people are "in-character" so to speak. No need to take everything as insult; think of them as constructive criticism. No one wants to drive away anyone who would potentially be reenactor/decent airsofter unless they are hardcore call-of-duty believers who think swiss alpenflage is standard-issue in Russian army...

Cheaper than Dirt is a great place which usually get bits and pieces of Eastern-Bloc militaria on sale for very cheap price; I recall buying my East German bayonet and Esbit stove there.I'm wondering what their opinion of the AK12 is?

Well, no one else makes bad reputation of RA members other than RA members (for example adaqgqgqg). If one has big problems looking at railed AK`s you have the choice of not opening the AK picture section at all
You see, when I look at "My Eyes they BLEED" thread I know I can find many ugly AK(railed or with "designer" furnitures) to point and laugh at, with other comrades who share same view.
I am not sure what to expect every time I open this thread. Is like watching Family Guy; never knowing if next joke is going to be funny or be extremely boring and takes a lot of screen time.
You have problem with criticism of rail on AK? Well you posted pictures... My first gun was JG M4 but I never post picture of that on Red-Alliance; same thing, you post picture that someone might not like, there will be criticism. I believe I never posted any personal insult towards anyone regarding this matter.
If you even looked at Red-Alliance you would know I am not only one who criticizes rails on every surface of AK; and there is also a great number of people who have railed-up AK.
Although anyone can guarantee you this: you are not going to receive 20 hatepost and a ban even if you do post stuff about tactical AK; it has been done before, no flaming...just "gentle persuasion."
And of course I will create a bad reputation for having opinion different from others. In Soviet Russia...oh wait.

No, you misunderstand.People take something and will always violently defend it, for no other reason than to feel superior.
I LOVE the feel of wood and steel. So I have wood and steel AK's, a la Ino Galil, Unicorn AKS74U etc. The only one I don't have as steel and wood is my Gf's 104 Custom . Which has purple polymer furniture.
I have no problem however with ris'd up AK's, whatever you find practical and comfortable is what works for you.
Incidentally, does anyone know if Ino Galil top covers ARE RS covers? They're a different finish and metal to the airsoft parts and it was rumoured they just bought RS ones.
Saying railed-up AK is inferior is just based on pure looks(which most look like s**t and I am not joining religion of magpul).
Mostly I laugh at completely unnecessary rails that mounts...absolutely nothing.
It is okay to have rails if you actually have stuff that you want to mount onto it; but as far as I can tell from all those empty rail spaces(such as upper handguard rail with nothing on it)...it is mostly done for "cool" factor that does not really exist.
I personally think the time of the AK purist has passed, since the Russian military is upgrading and modernizing as well as individual Russian soldiers kitting out their personal weapons just like US soldiers. They go online and shop for advantages just like soldiers of most western nations. There are many pictures from the Caucasus and Chechnya showing very interesting modernized AK's in combat. The 9x39 round VSS, VAL, and SR3M Vikhr are being used in ever increasing numbers, or at least showing up in a lot more journalists images and screen captures from news clips.
I think part of the AK purist movement is actually the AK hatters club as well. They like to think of the AK as a 'communist' gun and are opposed to seeing it modernized for reasons of nationalistic pride more then any supposed mil sim accuracy. Notice how making one look like its beatdown is considered OK, but make one look like a modern soldiers well taken care of primary weapon and everyone screams and cries. I think 90% of this crowd just transfers the now confusing and antiquated feelings of fear of communism onto this poor gun, and want to see it in peasants clothing.
I find it funny people of world criticizes Russians on making everything backwards/no sense while nothing is said about AK.
Look at recent photo of Russians wearing genuine(or fake) multicam...
A few years ago I could tell a Russian loadout is Russian when I see one; now I need to look TWICE.
It is not about feeling of Communism anymore; it is about how modern Russia started looking so Western that differences are so much less notable...it is like typical airsoft in America of Americans(digital camouflage) vs. Americans(woodland camouflage).
Also you need to prove that majority of frontline regular units, not special forces, extensively use "modernized" AK/PKM...etc. before you speak of milsim.
And the fact that soldiers have to buy Western-made gear like Eotech for advantage...is just embarassing(exception applies when they cannot use Russian gear in certain parts of world).
Face it; there is about as much, if not more, wrong(to most people) with Modern Russia(now with a lot more Neo-Nazi, homosexual, and stuff...).
I spent $300+ on super-awesome-modern 6sh112 in cifra and it almost look like cheap Amerikan vest of crossdraw...wtf?
But to carry it like that you cant then have any real camo besides maybe some olive drap Pakistani conscript outfit nor any equipment besides maybe a chicom chest rig or 70's middle eastern wars style rig.
Soviet Russian(VSR, KLMK, TTsko; 6b3/5, lifchik, RD54), East German(Strichtarn), Turban-head-people(also possible with Strichtarn)...etc. you know what I am getting at.
Milsim is not all about (arguably more sad) modern times.

I see that price tag and Cyma being same.Has anyone gotten a chance to test & evaluate the Echo 1 CSR/SVD yet? I'm likely to pick one up soon, just wanted to know if someone with more AEG expertise had an informed opinion.
Cyma has laminated wood that looks pretty correct(if you ignore quality).
I think Echo1 is s**t for releasing a SVD at same price but with incorrect polymer furniture(in same shape as wood furniture, which is not what real one is like as everyone knows).
I have a CYMA(same internal as Echo1) and RealSword, by the way.
Cyma motor is...better...
Rest of internals, RealSword wins aside from piston.Anyway, get CYMA...not overpriced s**t like Echo1.

I know someone who has it and he put a daytona gun kit into it, it is full steel version minus aluminum barrel.Now here's something I could use the collective's advice on:
I've wanted an RK-12S for a while, but they went out of stock some time ago, of course. Since some DBoys all steel models are available again, I thought I'd try searching for the RK-12S, but still seems to be out of stock everywhere. I did find it on Airsoft Panda (http://airsoftpanda.kanitech.com.hk/det.php?id=1807), do you think this is a proper RK-12S? The description says steel & potmetal, but I've noticed that nearly every site completely recycles the description for the potmetal version for the all steel version. Anybody know how Airsoft Panda is with this sort of thing?

I'm seriously thinking that I'm going either Real Sword or LCT for the next round of AK purchases this winter. It may just be LCT, I'm looking to build something in an East German flavor, and a RS seem's to be more hassle and less of what I really need to have for the project.
I do so want to have a RS in the collection someday though.
LCT AIMS, accept no substitute.
RealSword is awesome but only when model works for loadout(trying to use dremel on a steel rifle is a pain; putting AKM parts, which require smaller outerdiameter barrel, is also a pain, stock angle is that of AK47...etc.).
