  1. Is there no rubber buffer at the front end which makes contact with the pot metal bolt ? :o

    Sounds like problems to me.

Apparently the softer potmetal is the buffer...lol.

But it does make sense that you would not need a buffer when you get RA tech steel bolt(in the near future, hopefully...), because everything behind that block is all steel.

  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RquWbt1jidI

Yes, it still decreased the bolt travel by at least 4cm...but at least it is made with machined steel and only cost around $16(490TWD).

    They are taking preorders.

Here is how to install it:

The real highlight can be spotted on the table: AKMSU muzzle brake(a tw player worked on it with CNC machine last time I checked).

...So much for realism of full bolt travel...

  3.

So do I--just how unkosher would it be to mount one on a VFC AKS-74u? I just acquired one but it came with this weird tactical foregrip instead of the wood one:

    vfc_ak_ras_01.jpg

That looks redneck...and that is not a compliment.

Wrap it in duck tape and you might be onto something funny.

AKMSU foregrip looks a lot better.

  4. But really, WEs last "original" GBBR, the G39C, didn't come with any huge flaws like this or some of their other rifles... :o Biggest thing with the G39 was over-hop, and I can live with that considering what else is offered :P

I don't really understand. Anyone seen or heard of any other problems like this ?

I thought L85 was their last original GBBR.

  5. I think, by now, I can say:

I don't want to say "I told you so"...

    But I told you so.

I think the proper way to use WE AK is to:

    1. buy from evike.

    2. shoot over 9000 mags in one day(or just before the warranty is gone).

    3. tell evike to send you replacement parts.

    4. it will arrive a few months later when WE finally decided to fix the fatal flaw of that part(be it material usage or whatever).

    5. you have a more reliable rifle.

Or wait for a few months and see if WE fixes those huge list of flaws I pointed out earlier, like what I am doing right now.

  6. ^That is a pretty well-made hop-up block.

I did not need the frontset anymore because of this:

    IMG_0507.jpg

And a closer shot to properly show the shiny finish to properly identify the brand of this AK:

    IMG_0508.jpg

Yes, that is the GLORIOUS Red-Alliance patch; issued by supply officer Tascabov(if you go to Operation EastWind, you will be very familiar with him).

  7. Good News:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IegQ7-kwwuU

Recoil kit that decreases bolt travel by 1cm and puts the rate of fire at realsteel level, without decreasing the force of recoil.

And apparently you can increase the rate of fire by pressing down the guide rod:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zy7Ytp69dQ&feature=youtu.be

    IMG_6755.jpg

fixed by placing two staples under the top cover as pictured to push the top cover up(and thus making the recoil rod tilt down a little).

  8. A friend just gave me this (my airsofting friends are awesome), now all I need is to find an entire front set for it and I can convert my CM.035 to a stamped steel gun. Kinda disappointed in how cheesy the potmetal stock latch looks, but at least it's better than the whole potmetal receiver. Having trouble finding the front set, saw parts on WGC Shop, but they were all out of stock.

    You are lucky.

I have one complete Dboys Aks-74u front set sitting in the basement, unused.

  9. Here is a thread on TW forum that have people reporting their broken parts on WE Ak(as expected, already breaking are the "environmentally friendly" parts, according to TW players):

    http://www.arms-cool.net/forum/thread-99688-1-1.html

    First broken part-firing pin.

    84670356.jpg

The user just finished one can of (propane)gas... recoil lowered immediately, full-auto became sluggish.

Five out of his ten mags failed to stop the gun from firing without bb.

And here is WE rep's immediate response:

Here, WE will first apologize to any customer who suffered these issues with their WE products.

Our company will take responsibility for ALL repairs to these parts.

Any customer who have this part broken, please go to the original retailer for free replacement part installation.

""WE will strengthen this part in a short time""

    WE repeat again:

Our company will definitely take responsibility for ALL product repairs.

And we hope Taiwan's players keep support WE to develop more types of models and with even more economical price to repay our customers.

We are sorry for this, thanks for everyone's support.

Some parts are not meant to be potmetal...

At least WE treat their "beta testers" nicely with free replacement services.

Good luck. Now I am going to watch how much WE's version 1.1 will be improved as well as how RA is going to release steel parts.

  10. thx for the source of the bibod. And with the magazines, it`s the CM HCs or electrical drum mags. will the cyma drum mags fit?

    Lance

You are getter off with the hi-caps.

Cyma drum mag has been fitted to it before; but this is a RPK74.

Also, banana-mag hicaps fit into more pouches(drum mag needs a fat pouch).

  11. Do you now any source for a real steel bipod kit? Don't like the thought of a fast broken bipod when going prone...

    Lance

No, that is why I think it is a problem.

    http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1614

    This should work.

Also, it is not fast-broken; it is Quick Detach. XD

One other thing worries me, the mag compatibilty of the gun. I own a cyma AKM (CM 048M) which is very picky even with the CM-Mags I bought. I don't like usual Highcaps so the question is, will the MAG Mid Caps for RPK74 fit end feet and what about the cyma AK electrical drum mags?

And are there any adivces for the internals beyond reshimming and changing the hop up rubber?

    Thx Lance

BTW. at gunfire.pl is this thing at sale for a very low price in my opinion...

It is a support weapon(even though it is not nearly as effective as the PKM) so you should be using hi-caps.

But MAG midcaps does not fit very solidly(well, some may; they have vastly different dimensions depending on the batch due to overuse of the molds).

    Quote from a RedAlliance member:

The MAG midcaps work good but have a bad wobble to it. Used the tap trick and it did not feed well and I even tried modding the magazine but found out it is pointless.
  12.

    replacing with what? original parts?

    thx lance

Real steel bipod or even LCT bipod part can both work.

The problem is finding that part by itself without the bipod.

Anyway, if it is not broken(yet), there is no need to fix it immediately.

CYMA really should have made that part out of cast steel, but it seemed like they tried too hard at cutting cost. Hopefully they see this problem and revise their build.

  13. You wrote "8.4 lipo"...

Also, I highly recommend replacing the part that connects the bipod to the barrel, it is potmetal and will break by simply leaving your gun tilted on the bipod(as it happened many times to many people; including to myself at Operation EastWind IV).

  14. So, is it worth to put Madbull black python barrel in it ?

    Short answer: no.

Long answer: realsword's barrel quality is good, and it is tighter than 6.08(I do not have a precise enough caliper to measure exactly how tight, but probably around 6.04); I do not see a reason to change a barrel(most likely not going to get much increase in accuracy because Madbull barrel is tighter) unless your stock barrel is badly scratched.

If you want better accuracy, try putting shims at where the hop-up arm is attached to the hop-up; I found quite a bit of possible side-by-side movement on that area.

I shimmed it and saw noticeable increase in accuracy.

  15. I understand but for the price VFC is still out of shape, Buying a Dboys/Kalash full steel variant is much better for the money then buying a VFC.

Don't forget that VFC AKs all only come with 320FPS. So you need to buy atleast a stronger spring and another Piston/Piston Head.

Kalash comes with 400FPS out of the box.

(Can only speak about my Kalash AKSU)

    Regards

    orb

After a year or so, Dboys AK's fps dropped considerably...both ones I had chronoed over 380 when new, now they are down to 350-ish and one of them had air nozzle's o-ring fall off so it shot at 200-ish...

The finish on VFC is what is important. Also, VFC Aks-74 is on sale for $300 on airsplat in case anyone did not know. :D

I did not like black plastic bushing on VFC, for the record; and I do plan to get at least a Guarder SP120 spring.

With that said, I am still planning on getting VFC AK-74M later for a more modern impression.

Also, VFC shoots about 40% faster than RealSword models with high torque motors, which shot about as fast as Dboys(I am beginning to think that the motors from RealSword and Dboys are made by the same company to similar specs...).

  16. Without knowing RS I thought all my stuff would be stable... :bleh:

Both gastubes of my VFC (AK74M & AIMS) aren't one piece. They come in 3 pieces like on the old LCTs.

Even the Kalash AKs got the one piece gastube. Also the handguard isn't totally stable. But that can be easily fixed with tape inside.

But again I never got any of these problems on my RS 56-2.

Also the lever by the rearsight for releasing the gastube does wobble much on the VFC.

VFCs are even more expensive as RS. That's why I cannot recommend VFC at all.

I was not saying that VFC is better. And I have RealSword.

The problem is that RealSword does NOT fit into very many loadouts.

Would you find a Soviet Afghanistan loadout with a Type 56? Most likely not.

And for more modern Russian loadouts, it is obvious.

Also, converting to Russian variant does not work.

Therefore, as a full-series of replicas that can fit into many loadouts...VFC is the best.

I was just touching all over my VFC, and the gas tube is not wobbly at all(I even tried to move it around...no movement).

Also, my gas tube on VFC is exactly like(in shape) the one on my two Dboys AKs-74... VFC may have changed their gastube design for some reason.

I <3 my RealSword and VFC equally.

  17. Cannot possible look worse than JG.

Also, there is nothing wrong with SRC-like hop-up, just that SRC hop-up takes a bit of modifying to get it to work properly(such as epoxy on the sides of hop up arm); CYMA may have fixed the problems.

    aC

it uses a SRC like hopup unit with a feeding tube i think.. the CYMA one looks bad

  18. Permission to join the revolution Comrades!

    TM AK102

No offense, but all comrades know that rails are counter-revolutionary and less rail is better.

Even though FSB uses some western optics/accesories, they keep the rail amount to a minimum(as much as they need, instead of having it all over the place and end up needing rail covers).

It would be acceptable for a FSB-job if the upper handguard is the regular smooth rail-less polymer one; however I doubt that any realsteel one can fit onto that TM.

  19. EHRM ... where do u cut?

You have to shorten the bucking by cutting down on the barrelsite not on the nozzlesite.

    Btw:

Your avatar .. the SVD is on save

I know, but the biggest difference is the nozzle side so I cut it just about half a mm. And it failed(should have frozen it and thinned the sides instead).

I put that avatar on for a good reason: set the SVD to safe to shoot bullets at capitalists; set it to FIRE to shoot magical psychological thermonuclear explosions.

It is anime after all. :D

  20. I use TM buckings in all my guns and they never let me down.

They fit very well and deliver you realy good shoots.

You can make them even more airtight by rolling some teflon duct tape around it ... there several how to´s out there.

Maybe you need to cut them shorter, but that shouldnt be a problem.

I cut one of them shorter at where the airnozzle touches; it became worthless.

I will try cutting a few mm short on the KWA 2G bucking I have.

I always knew how to improve airseal with teflon tape, but it never worked with realsword...

  21. G36 is not much better, The Version 3 G36 is nice but the dimensions are off ever so slightly. Better than the Version 2 SRC g36 though everything seems to be TM compatible untill they aren't.

They are not really TM compatible, they are CA compatible(I have both CA and SRC).

  22. IIRC someone posted in one of the T97 threads about success with a Prommy purple. I had the same experience as you with Guarder clear, which is why I always ran with the stock rubbers - just changed to a fatter hop nub for better control.

    Thanks.

I was just trying out the spare parts that I have.

Stock T97 already shoots accurately to long ranges so there was really no need to change anything. :D
