  1. Loving those "redhead" grips 'BigAl'. Look real sweet on the TRP. Ive looked for grips with 'girly' pics online in the US but not many manufacturers that do them will export to the UK! Where did you source yours from?
  2. Good shot of the MEU. OK so there .22LR cases but they add drama
  3. Ha ha! Well nearly. Its easier with the MEU as the serrations are more defined but the Hi-capa serrations are a real pain to replicate due to their finer detail. As you can see from this side of the slide, my cutting of the forward serrations weren't as good... I am getting there slowly but like all things that are cut or worked over by hand, practice is the key.
  4. Thanks guys Yep engravings done but for the Thunder Ranch shield logo on the opposing side of the slide, im still trying to get my engraver to come up with a way to translate it to his software program but I wont be beaten on it I will get it done somehow She runs like a dream but had to fit an upgraded recoil spring, just to get her 'bedded in', as the slide was tight? The non-branded 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel (from KHmountain for $9.50!) and PDI hop work very well indeed together. At 10 meters I can get a 5 shot grouping in a 3 inch circle. I think this ones a keeper, atleast for th
  5. Have just completed this.... Railed Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special. Its a standard TM MEU slide mated to a TM Foliage Warrior frame thats had a TM 5.1 rail added and the original RIS holes filed on the dust cover. Has a TSC extended magwell/MSH, custom made Les Baer single thumb safety, additional forward cocking serrations, RS Les Baer TR grips, LCT trigger and engravings. Sights are from the TM Night Warrior.
  6. Thanks It was a design by Charlie kelsey (who owned the Devel Corp and built the 12 Gammon pistols), which allowed easier mag ejections to be done under stress in IPSC matches. Its very similar to the AIP paddle mag catch but with a far bigger paddle. I will be, in the future, fitting a custom built one to look like the Devel one but for now its staying with the Guarder version.
  7. The Devel Gammon is done.... Complete build video series is now up on YouTube. Im disappointed with the paint finish but I was testing some new cheap spray paint, opps! You win some you loose some. Now just got to test it in a game, gulp!
  8. Beautiful collection 'mrsevenstars'.
  9. Yep as 'FireKnife' says thats a WW2 Colt Commander. It can easily be customized to fit a bushing and guide rod plug if you have a Dremel, similar to what I do on the TM 4.3 ABS slides. Would have to be a steel bushing as the TM ones bend outwards with the pressure of the plug and recoil spring. Hopefully be getting a couple of these slides if the WE website works out
  10. Coming back to the longing for a Commander size 1911, well a friend of mine has been chatting to WE and they have informed him that they will supply parts through their soon to be set up new website (airsoft123) and they will sell Commander length slides Till then I will keep on customizing the TM ABS ones...
  11. You can only fit the 'spur' type hammers, as fitted to the 1911a1 and series 70, any of the other types require the grip safety to be adjusted to suit the hammer.
  12. Now that is simple yet stunning 'hotelkilo'. Loving those grips and hope to get some of my own soon when Midway get them back in stock in March.
  13. Yes ive heard about the 'colleted' accurizing bushing and the problems with them on RS series70s. Pity as the idea was sound and if the barrels were fitted right they worked. Colt's quality control at the time however was none to good so many broke. Not an issue with airsoft as far less stresses are involved. Well im sure when your wife see's the airsoft version she'll love it as TM have really gone to town and made it worthy of anyones armoury. Many thanks for the compliments regards my work Ha ha! Yes trigger work and especially the leaf spring area are a pain to set up correctly,
  14. I do so like the Hurricane metal kits (though I seem to get bad ones!) and the Kimber Desert Warrior is a prime example. Nice build 'CKinnerley'. Nothing wrong with a bit of fake wood background
  15. Talking of additions to my previous builds...finally got markings on my AMT Hardballer Decal tranfers I did on my computer. And my TM Colt MkIV series 70 has had new sights...
  16. Thanks my friend Yeah it took a little more work (and another donor ABS frame) to get right but im happy. How I did it all etc update videos will be uploaded to my YouTube channel over the next few weeks
  17. Thanks I cut an old frame up and fitted it around the base of the original. Its pinned, superglued and also glued with MrCement'S' model glue which seems to like ABS plastic and melts it just right for blending in etc. When dry I filed the inner magwell funnel to be wider. The serrations to the rear sight aren't the best but they are saw cut and filed by hand . As you say I could do with a 20/30LPI metal file which should work for MIM aswell as ABS. I just have to be a bit more careful with it than when used on metal.
  18. OK those that follow my YouTube channel will know this pistol but maybe not with these current adjustments..... Ive now added the frame intergrated magwell, forward cut the ejection port and added custom made grips. Im still debating as to do the 'Miller Custom' engraving to the slide.
  19. Yes we can but hope In the meantime I make do and customize my own... All are just standard TM 4.3 slides with bushing notches and chin cuts added and serrations plus markings filled. The outer 1911 style barrels, guide rods, springs, plugs and bushings have been cut down to suit. All work fine even on Green gas all year. A lot of custom work I grant you but until some manufacturer comes up with a decent Commander slide we have to grin and bare it
  20. True! Thats one hell of a 1911...wow!
  21. Truly an excellent replica 'Mobius' that laser certainly sets it off. Plus the AR aswell, amazing stuff. Hats off to you sir
  22. So cold bluing does work then on MIM parts or are the Action plugs steel? May now give this a try myself as spraying isnt that good and soon chips off.
  23. How so? I thought the RA-Tech kit was full metal, slide and frame. Nice pistol though, will defo look better with the Nova parts added.
  24. Its not as hard as it looks to do, though my previous experience with the SV IMM Master piece pistol helped alot. Just make sure you do the outer barrel comp set up first then when the comp is finished to the right width and length, then duly cut the slide to suit but allow for the curved end to the comp so it will slide nicely into position when the slide cycles. Patience, planning and taking your time are the real key things to remember A few more pics of the compensator for you...
