  2. Actually, we were pretty frugal. Both carry handles cost us about $40 (edit: after California sales tax and the usual "you live in the Bay Area" mark-up) for the 6061 alu bar stock, a flan made by me, and some lunches and dim sum. As for "too tall", the ultimate goal was to make these things practical. I am still looking into getting the realsteel Norwegian carry handles. RDS and BUIS mounted to it sight in like a dream (to us at least) and there's -just- enough space to get a Caucasian hand in a SOLAG comfortably between the underside of the rail and the charging handle.   3. SL9SD is nearing completion. I'd posted this pic in the technical section originally because this is a gearbox and wiring project as well. NOTE: rifle IS safed - lever on this side needs to be adjusted

  5. To me, the CA and Star G36 bodies always seemed different. Enough so that duracoat in black is on my list of things to do for my SL9SD project to get the Star G36K foregrip and the CA8-2 upper and lower receiver to match.

  7. First picture of my SL9SD in progress. ***The G36C foregrip and the Mk 23 SOCOM silencer are there to help give -me- an idea of where the G36K foregrip and the 290mm or 293mm suppressor will be. Notes: -I started with a CA8-2 which now has my Echo 1 G36C gas tube assembly. - The mechbox is being swapped out completely for a custom aluminum shell I'm getting from the Q Project. I'm still waffling on which helical gears I am going to use. All internal mechanical components and contact surfaces are being moly-coated with Sentry Solutions Smooth-Kote and just-in-case lu
